Low rate display on a good laptop!

Hello

Recently I bought a new laptop called the: HP 15-P032ND

Specification of the laptop:

Processor: AMD Quad Core A8-6410 2.0 GHz (up to 3.5)

RAM: 12 GB / HARD drive: 1 TB + 8 GB ExpressCache

Graphics card: AMD Radeon R7 M260(2GB)

OS: Windows 8.1

Mainly for school purposes and sometimes a little play.

Then I started Minecraft and noticed that I had really low framerates! (All about 20-50 FPS)

The first thing that comes to my mind is; "Why have I not display on a newly bought these low rates.

with record decent laptop?' So I tried a few things like;

-Minecraft setting for the smallest possible settings! (Still only around 40-50 FPS)

-Allocate more memory for minecraft

-Turn off VSync in the AMD Catalyst Control Center

-Minecraft setting a high priority in the graphic menu AMD switchable

-Javaw setting a high priority in the graphic menu AMD switchable

-Addition of Minecraft in the games/3DSettings menu

-Addition to the games/3DSettings menu Javaw

-Try to change the graphics mode in the BIOS CH instead of DYNAMIC

(This is not possible because I don't have the ability to change my graphics mode!)

But none of these options worked, I always get the same FPS rate as I did before!

If anyone can help me solve this problem, then it would be amazing!

Hello

The problem you are experiencing is an old question with Minecraft.  I'm not too surprised.  Google the question of Minecraft.  Must be able to go far beyond 100 + FPS if you change the setting of the game proper.

Thanks to all those who suggest a good laptop at a reasonable price!

None of them and the problem is the display. If you're doing graphic design, probably for clients, you really need to see what you're doing. But if you are planning for a second external display, it can work well.

I recently bought a Sony Vaio to my wife (i5 CPU and 250 GB SSD), and it's a bit big machine. I have not tried Photoshop on it, but it works very well, Lightroom, which in my experience is much more critical and demanding material works well. But I don't expect any problems with Photoshop because it has a dedicated video card (no hybrid stuff), except for driver bugs video you can ever save against. But despite this there are ways around that.

The problem is that I don't see what I'm doing, because even with a x-rite i1 calibrated display continues to change the screen brightness all the time. I can't for the life of understand me why he did this. It is completely paralyzing and make it useless. And even if he does not do it, display is a panel type TN that radically changes depending on the angle of viewing.

Strictly based on view-only, I would recommend a Macbook Pro. The resolution of the retina, they may have, but most recent use IPS technology so that you see the same thing regardless of viewing angle. And I think that it is not seeking to be 'useful' by turning the crank light and down all the time screen.

    Hey Talvos,

You have a good system, but your video card is not for games. Integrated video cards just not make games, but also a dedicated video card.

Fortunately, I think I know what system you are using the same if you post your model number of HP (cough, cough), and you have a PCI-Express slot in your system, simply go to your local retailer favorite and look into buying a video card. If you talk to someone, tell them what game you want to run and what system you have and see if they have a recommendation.

I would recommend an nVidia 8600 or 8800 (all that you can accept), do not go lower than the 8600. Amount of RAM on the card doesn't really matter, but you'll more than likely 512 or 320megs. Make sure the box says PCI-Express somewhere on it and not AGP.

Slap this bad boy in your Inbox, or find a friend who knows what he does to help, download the latest drivers from nVidia.com and repeat the game.

For the moment, but if you want to improve your framerate, to drop your resolution in the game down for like 800 x 600 and adjust advanced down a bit, or make sure they are all failing. Turn off stuff like

Anti-Aliasing, it is nice, but it takes a lot of processing power.

If you want to go with an ATi card, the HD 2600 is also a good choice. (Valve preferred and less problems of compatibility with most of the games)

    -A.

    Hello

Mode power saving can be activated.

To check this, on your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: Watch My > Workout - if it is currently enabled, disable power saving Mode.

(When the power saving Mode is enabled, it disables the sensor of heart rate during workouts running).

  • Need help with extremely low rates of FPS on X 51 new R2

I just bought a new Alienware X 51 R2 to replace an old Alienware model with a Radeon graphics card that I bought in 2012. My old machine has done useful work to run the games, and I was getting about 30 FPS on Grand Theft Auto 5 to high heat (especially) with a resolution of 1440 X 900. For most of the games I could play on normal settings and get 30 + FPS and I was happy with it. Not so with the new X 51 R2 I bought.

Almost immediately, I noticed that my FPS with GTA V was extremely low. When I start a game (1920 X 1080 with normal settings), the FPS is around 120, and the game plays smooth as butter, but as soon as I start to move starts to decline until it is of the order of 15-20. Enter a car is even worse, with FPS readings between 5 and 10, and at this rate, it is impossible to play. The problem seems to occur any resolution, I start the game or if I push the graphics settings to the lowest available.

I thought it was a driver problem, so I uninstalled all the drivers and software NVIDIA and a clean installed drivers, but that has not helped. Then I started to download and test the other games that I have to look at my FPS with them. Note that I tested each game first leave the game choose the graphics setting, then I tested it again on smaller settings at 1920 X 1080 and 1440 X 900.

    • Skyrim on old PC: 40 FPS and smooth at 1600 X 900
    • Skyrim w / default: 8-12 FPS and a lot of stuttering and offset
    • Skyrim @ 1920 X 1080: 12-15 FPS with less stutter but terrible mouse and keyboard delay.
    • Skyrim @ 1440 X 900: even at 1080
    • RAGE on old PC: 50 to 60 FPS and smooth at 1600 X 900
    • RAGE w / default settings: 25-35 FPS, but ran pretty smooth.
    • RAGE @ 1920 X 1080 and 1440 X 900: performs the same as the default settings
    • CoD4MW on old PC: 50 to 60 FPS and smooth at 1600 X 900
    • CoD4MW w / default settings: 10-15 FPS and a lot of stuttering
    • CoD4MW @ 1920 1440: 10-15 FPS and a lot of stuttering
    • Civilization 5 on old PC: 40-50 FPS and smooth at 1600 X 900
    • Civ5 on default settings: starts at ~ 35 FPS and descends until it is less than 20 years. Game play is smooth enough, as long as I'm not scroll the map.
    • Civ5 on 1920 X 1080: as with the settings by default, starts at ~ 35 FPS and begins to drop immediately.
    • Civ5 on 1440 X 900: much better that it begins at 60 FPS, but like the others, begins a fall after a few minutes, but not too far. Tube in the lower 20s.
    • Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 on the old PC: 90 + FPS to the highest settings (game released like 10 years ago)
    • Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 to 1600 X 900: 50 to 60 FPS and quite smooth.
    • Dead Island on old PC: 40-50 FPS and smooth at 1600 X 900
    • Dead Island in 1920 X 1080: 5 to 10 FPS and a lot of stuttering and keyboard/mouse lag.
    • Dead Island at 1440 X 900: 10-15 FPS and stuttering with some lag mouse.

Here is a list of some of the things I've tried:

    1. Downloaded FRAPS and used instead of the tool integrated FPS w / steam. Readings FRAPS corresponding to the display of the steam.
    2. Wipe the old NVIDIA drivers/software and did a clean install only the driver.
    3. Turn off VSync and tried the Adaptive VSync; neither helped.
    4. I bought a keyboard Roccat / mouse and I was wondering if they were part of the problem, so I uninstalled them and used a plain Microsoft keyboard and mouse. Did not help.
    5. Set the executable of the game to the highest priority in the Task Manager. Not good.
    6. Watched the memory usage, CPU utilization and disk i/o while playing to see if I have the hardware bottlenecks. CPU usage never had more than 20%. Memory usage has never had more than 37%. Drive e/s never had more than 10% after the initial load.

    System Specs:

    • Alienware X 51 R2
    • Windows 8.1
    • Processor: Intel Core i7 core 4 4790 @ 4000 MHz
    • RAM: 16 Gb DDR3
    • Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 w / 2 GB of memory
    • HARD disk: 7200 RPM Toshiba DT01ACA200

I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out how I can solve the problem. This is the first time I've owned a GeForce card (always had ATI Radeon in the past), and I'm starting to question that decision. The only game I could get decent framerate on is 10 years and more, and it's pretty frustrating.

Someone has an idea of what I can do to get to a resolution?

There must be something wrong with the fan 960 GTX. Either it has disconnected or broken. Or in bulk (screws not doing their job). I do not think that it is disconnected because it is detected, so it is either broken or it is loose.

You can check yourself on the GPU or contact technical support to examine it.

    Hi @TeeShirtArtist,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question on your HP ENVY 15 - j002ex Notebook and questions with a new HD BrightView LED backlit (1920 x 1080) display panel with the lower resolution. I will try to update the graphics drivers.

Click the arrow next to display adapters to expand this category
Right click on graphic family and select Update driver software
Select search automatically for updated driver software.

The laptop must find and automatically install the updated driver
Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.

If that doesn't help, here is a link to change the resolution, you may need to select the Advanced setting to ensure that your driver is used.

I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings.

A computer repair center should be able to fix this without any problem. The only thing might be if they have installed a bad Panel. The only way to know what are the Panel specifications, would be to get the part number of the new group.

I hope that it helps anything here.

    Thank you.

  • Generic error import for MOV files with lower rate

I copied several video files from my iPhone 4s to my laptop (Windows 7) and tried to import them in first 14 elements. Some of them import successfully, some of them will result in a failure of the support add with the message "the importer reported a generic error." Looking for the files causing outages, I noticed they have a rate lower than all other files. The majority are 29 and those who fail are 27 or 28 fps. Is there a way to fix this error or around?

    Thank you!

  • Good laptop cheap for the edition of light during the trip?

    Hello comrades,.

I'm traveling to the Philippines and need a cheap laptop good (less than 800) for my travels.

I know that this laptop at low price and Assembly is basically an oxymoron, but let's look at what I do here...

Because I will go I won't have access to my powerful desktop at home what I do most of my editing. However, most of the edits I do during my travels will be video short 3 to 10 minutes for YouTube and my Blog. I have a project on a large scale, I'm working on, but I won't edit and or made until I'm back home.

Basically, I just need something that is right for the edition of light and can also fit my budget, as the material below I have already cost an arm and a leg.

It must also be adapted to travel. I intend to travel anywhere in South East Asia with it. This area is tropical and very sunny, when it does not rain... I usually don't like masts screens but it may be better than a brilliant in such an area? I'm not sure.

I available to capture my images for most to 1080 p at different frames per second using the following devices.

    1 x Sony HDR-PJ260V

    1 x GoPro Hero3 + money

    For Audio I use...

    1 x H4N field recorder

    1 x H1 field recorder

    2 x AT803 Lavs

    1 x OST-801 Lav

Since I want to get as many film and audio with amble space has a need of mine. I'll be frequently or at least when its an option transfer video to external hard drives to back up to the sending of the return. This way the images for my more great project waiting beside my desk when I return home.

Other uses for the laptop include games of light (point and click adventure games) nothing too heavy graphics. I think the game more heavy that I played on my old laptop was SWTOR and he knocked along. Internet connection is terrible in Southeast Asia, so I don't think I'll play this one.

Except that it will be used for Facebook, to write my book and speak with family and friends on Skype.

The size? I need recommendations here? Yet once again, keep in mind that I will be backpacking around Southeast Asia.

Will examine the computers used, if I have to, but prefer new and under warranty.

Use Adobe products for editing. Thank you!

Cooling could be a problem too, the philippines are very hot!

I see no difference except the newegg is cheaper.
