LR is almost not usable in Windows 10
Since the upgrade to Windows 10 (home edition Premium 64 bit i7 cpu, @ mem 920 2.67 GHz 15 g) LR (CC2015.2) became so slow, it is practically not usable. I closed all virus protection software, and I can't go 10 minutes without the locking system to the top with the message "not responding". I had Adobe Connect agents on my computer, and whenever they do something, such as reinstalling, copy catalogues etc, it's even worse. Yesterday I updated again, and now, new import routine does not work as it did, can't zoom in on the files that are on the import of pre to screen and cannot re - import a file. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Adobe staff have yet to solve this problem, the cat team.
I have 10 windows and LR on a portable computer, which has also slowed.

Additional virtual disk space not usable in Windows
I resized a virtual disk of virtual machines by changing properties and then used a live CD partitioning tool to resize the partition. Inside windows disk manager, it shows that the additional disk space as if the size of the Windows partition has been increased with success. However, when I look at the properties of the hard drive in Windows, the extra size does NOT appear and it is not usable or accessible to the file system. Any ideas what went wrong and how to fix it?
Thank you
I had exactly this before strange point of view and could not explain it. Seemed rather strange that the operating system will appear to display the disk space as allocted but the extra space was not available (even when checking the query WMI etc.)
Ultimately, however, EXTPart has remedied the problem for me. (and quickly)
If you do not use EXTPart, you can use the converter to recreate the disk.

Windows 7 cannot see is not my SCSI disks when I try to install. As the IDE drive is showen but is not usable. Is there a FDISK program that can be run to solve this problem from a command promt?
Hello
You try to access BIOS and change the SCSI to IDE in the BIOS or Raid in IDE and try to install Windows 7.
If it fails, contact your SCSI manufacturer for the latest drivers for your SCSI and install it by clicking on load drivers and try to install Windows 7.
Hope this helps and works.

bought photoshop elements 11 year last for windows and use it in my office. The office is now crashed and not usable. So I bought iMac now. Is it possible to make the trade more to change the license in version iMac for a small fee. Otherwise, I can partition the hard drive in the iMac and install windows and also photoshop elements? What is the best alternative? Why?
A license of Photoshop Elements is good for Mac and Windows, it should be just a matter of download the Mac version and using your serial number to activate it.

2. choose your language settings, and then click "next".
3. click on "repair your computer".If you do not have the disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Thank you very much
Until one of the experts can give you advice on the repair of your Vista system, you might like to try to recover your files. I'm not very computer literate, but managed to achieve this when I "killed" my installation of Windows 2000. I ASSUME the same process should work with Vista. (Somewhat disturbing, Windows passwords do not seem to matter.)
Download a Linux live CD - Linux "Puppy", I found a small one - download good and easy to use. Burn the .iso file, resulting on a CD. Insert the CD into your CD/DVD drive and start the computer. Let it boot the Linux operating system. (You may need to experiment with the BIOS settings for the computer to boot from CD before its own hard drive).
You now have a linux regardless of your hard disk operating system. (If it is one of the major Linux programs, it will be slow when run from CD - is not a problem - just requires patience!)
With a little luck, the Linux system will see all disks connected to your computer, including your hard drive. (The same as your normal operating system sees a USB and can copy files, for example.) You might then be able to browse the files on your hard drive and copy them to a disk external drive or USB key.
I met a few issue permissions to write to the external drive - sorry, can't remember the flippant answer but it was very simple - and had only once. Again, it just Google the problem. There are many experts Linux display discussions out there!
This does not allow you to start your Vista system or something like that, but if you can get your files copied to a safe place, so you can just copy them back once you have reinstalled the offending Vista system.
I'll try to provide a link to an answer that I already proposed here - Sorry, it's a little tedious, but the link it can be useful, too.
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=44736&TSTART=30
One of those things that is easier to do than to describe, perhaps - lots on the internet about Linux rescue CD.
I found a lot of useful articles on this google link:
http://www.Google.co.UK/search?hl=en&q=using+a+Linux+live+CD+to+rescue+Win dows + files & btnG = Google + Search & meta =
I've never been good by entering search terms. you will find many things better.
But the good news is that it would be possible to recover at least some of your data before reinstalling.
If you have not used Linux live CD before, first do some work at home. They are surprisingly easy, especially when you have overcome one or two of the usual initial traps for example try to burn the live CD as data rather than an iso CD then wonder why it won't start. Proabably more easy for you to do a little research on Google than for me to write pages here!
Another alternative, if you're better to dismantle the computers than me, would be to remove it from your hard drive and install it in a suitable external hard drive enclosure. This can then be connected to another computer via a USB port and you should be able to read your files as if a USB flash drive and copy them. I only tried this with the old readers of old desktop computers with nothing on them that counts too - but it seems easy enough. Once again, just a way to copy all your stuff before wiping the hard drive of your laptop and reinstall Vista.
Sorry if it was a little hike - hope that gives you some ideas.

DisplayPort does not work in Windows 7
HP ProBook 6545b
Display port does not work in WIndows 7. There are several devices in Device Manager that have no drivers, but Windows in unable to find a driver for them. I downloaded almost all the drivers on the HP website for the laptop and install. The Device Manager has 1 unknown device and 2 Base system devices that have no drivers.
Display port worked fine when I had Windows XP on the laptop. Win7 installation is a new facility on a wiped driver, is not the upgrade.
Thank you
cbabfat
Hello:
What bit to W7 version do you use? 32 or 64?
This driver must take care of the Base system device.
For other missing devices, please click in the Device Manager. Then click on the Details tab. In the property drop-down list, select the second element (Hardware ID).
After the first string you see here. Those who will be to further identify the device and I can send you the link for the drivers.

Why do I get "mscms.dll is not a valid windows image" on everything I try?
I'm working on the kinks of swap hard drive in my Dell E310. The original tested 'ready to die' so I installed a new. I bought the backup for XP Pro disk, when I bought the computer. I loaded the operating system on the new drive and did the updates (80 or almost). I regularly get the message "the file or dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\mscms.dll is not a valid windows image." What now?
I've damaged my file mscms.dll on purpose and could not get any message about it even though I know that it is corrupt - maybe I wasn't quite hard. I know that some other mscms.dll errors, but they are different.
Tell me what you're doing to regularly get the message because I'd like to see it.
After reinstalling and apply the updates of 80 or more, one of them was Service Pack 3?
If you are not sure which SP you re running, click Start, run, and in the type box:
Msinfo32
Click OK to see your system information and Service Pack and what does say?
If the rest of your system works well, you can use Explorer to navigate to the c:\windows\system32 folder and rename your file to mscms.dll suspicious to a name, remember (like: mscms.bad).
So if your Windows File Protection is not working properly, it will notice the missing file and quickly and quietly, to replace the missing file with a backup copy.
Wait a few seconds... then press F5 in your Explorer window to refresh the view and see that the file has been replaced and you have the mscms.bad and a new copy of mscms.dll.
You should see a message like this in your newspaper observer event system:
Event type: Information
Event source: Windows File Protection
Event category: no
Event ID: 64002
Description:
File replacement was attempted on the protected system file c:\windows\system32\mscms.dll. This file was restored to the original version to maintain system stability. The file version of the system file is 5.1.2600.5627.Restart and see how things look now.
I can also send you a version SP2 or SP3 file mscms.dll via my SkyDrive and you can rename your suspicious file and replace to see if that helps your condition. You might have some settings do not match here.

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs
I tried to apply the patch, MicrosoftFixit.dvd.Run.exe. He could not say "NET Framework initialization error. Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application. If this is related to the framework version number .net (such as published in some issues) then Microsft back compatible fix to the problem. It should give a step-by-step procedure to solve these 2 problems. Microsft say DVD problem was know question and it was fixed in XP SP2. I installed Windows XP with SP2 and now updated to update to SP3. But the problem persists. Any help from anyone?
shanglur,
If you have installed all Windows updates, there's no upper/lower filters to delete, you can try...
Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs
But it's almost the same thing as above. I suspect that your cd/dvd drive may have failed.

Disk hard online, but not visible in Windows Explorer
Hi guys, I need a little help.
Today, I installed an old 80 GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10 PATA hard drive on my other PC, a Dell Inspiron 530, as a second HDD. I had to order new parts to connect actually upward from the power supply and motherboard SATA and IDE connections are not, but all those who are working very well.
My problem is that this Maxtor drive does not appear in Windows Explorer. BIOS, see Device Manager it disk management he sees (and even said it's online). Just not Windows Explorer.
In disk management, it is not a drive letter assigned to it, and when I right click on the disk partitions, anything but 'Delete the Volume' and 'Help' are grayed out. (Screenshot here: http://i39.tinypic.com/2ujpbeo.png)
I'm a bit stumped, it's almost like I can't use the drive at all. Any ideas?
Here's some more information about the system:
OS: Windows Vista editions Home Premium (Build 6002, Service Pack 2)
BIOS: Phoenix AwardBIOS review 1.0.18
Motherboard: Foxconn G33M02
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2140 1.6gHz
Memory: 3072 MB DDR2 SDRAM
First HARD drive: 250 GB Hitachi SATA sister
HARD drive secondary: 80 GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10 PATA (with jumper set to "Master DS")
GPU: ASUS EAH4670
And I should add, just in case... This is PATA to SATA card, I use the drive: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320759737706?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT & _trksid = p3984.m1439.l2649
And I just use a SATA to Molex cable I found to convert the power.
Thank you
Hello
Thanks for this info. I looked more into filesystems and it turns out that the disc was either FAT or NTFS - it was EXT2 which is a Linux file system. I found this by starting Ubuntu that supports multiple file systems.
I didn't format it had data on personal, but I found an EXT2 driver and can now browse the Windows hard disk.

"This computer is not running genuine Windows". 0x8004fe21
Hello world
Since yesterday, I received the notification of "this computer is not running genuine Windows" dreaded when I actually run windows genuine (OEM on a Lenovo laptop). I did some reading about other people who have had the same problem, but have not been able to find useful solutions.
I have already run "chkdsk /f/r" on C:, and also "sfc/scannow", both in the command prompt high and after reboot, the computer is always give me the WGA notification.
I also run a diagnosis with the MGADiag tool test and here is the log that.
I think the main problem here is the line "manipulated files: % systemroot%\system32\sppcext.dll|sppcext.dll.mui" but I do not know what is the cure for this in addition to a clean install (I prefer not to do that, but in the absence of anything else, I can).
Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

Help! -HPCP1215 does not print in Windows 7, no error message
Hello, I am running Windows 7 and have a HP CP1215 printer. Until recently, when I start a print job, everything goes as normal EXCEPT nothing comes out of the printer. I get no error message or anything. I get the usual messages, indicating that the print job was sent to the printer, etc. But nothing happens on the end of the printer. I have other printers connected and they print correctly.
I tried:- Uninstall the drivers and software to print several times then reinstalling the drivers directly on the site of HP and the updated software
- I've tried different USB ports.
- I tried to start, stop and restart the printer spool service.
- Tried Microsoft Fixit solution software that detects any problems.
- Tried to restore Windows to an earlier version.
- The diagnosis of HP of the tools on the site of HP (Print & Scan, Assistant physician installation HP Windows 7 printer and HP Diagnostic Tools) none find any questions or problems.
Nothing seems to work, and I am at my wits end and don't know what to do else do a new install of Windows that I really, really want to do.
Help, please!This response from you:
Problem is that when I find the management of printing a back prompt window opens momentarily then shut almost immediately. I tried to access the print management with two different administrator user accounts with the same results.

I tried the suggestions above without success to be able to print. [Referring to my suggestion to follow the steps described in the help document HP in order to remove the printer driver, whereas this step 3 is "open Print Management."]
My bad. I should have asked earlier what version of Windows 7 you have. Despite contrary information in the help files and besides, print management is apparently not available in Windows 7 Home Premium. See http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/printer-management-problem/62aab3e3-897c-4656-8d1b-58c20bd940fd (I think that Alan Morris).
Then, assuming you have Windows 7 Home Premium, go back to the HP page I linked earlier and instead of using print management, follow the advice of Alan Morris to remove driver and driver--> http://www.vistax64.com/vista-print-fax-scan/278458-how-do-i-remove-printer-drivers-windows-7-without-print-managem.html package
By 'launch' Alan means opens a command prompt window (I would do it in a "computer administrator" account) and type
printui/s/T2 {press Enter}
