LR3: Batch edit IPTC title metadata

Hello

I rename my files to import to satisfy certain requirements. But once I got my photos store in a collection (say my shot I want to keep and promote), I would like to have the name of the IPTC title with a more descriptive name, such as "Model name xxx" where xxx is a sequence. I don't want to change the name of the file, just the IPTC metadata.

Is it possible to do in Lightroom 3?

It seems very simple, but I can't find anywhere...

Thank you

Here is the link that is on the page for editing metadata. Joking with her a little, it's not too complicted.

  • batch update of video metadata sidecar THM files

    I recently migrated to Lightroom's opening and was one of the great joys that LR was able to read the metadata of the THM sidecar files associated with the videos that I shot on more than a decade of Canon cameras. Years I had been rename the sidecar of THM to .jpg file extensions so that I could at least have the camera next to the file video in my opening catalogs, ugly news but better than nothing good. But now LR can do for me so much cleaner, Hooray! So I renamed all sidecars feels back to THMS and now if I re - import videos, that metadata comes along with them, the joy! ... except... that means having to re - import of 10s of thousands of video files manually.

    I had assumed there would be a simple way to batch 'update' or 'read' metadata sidecar for videos files selected in LR, but alas I can't find any way. Break the link to the original file (by changing the name of the folder or location) and then 'location' files do not work, it will find files and redo the link no problem but it won't update the metadata. And after a week of searching for an answer on the internets, I drew a blank.

    so I'm really really really hope seems smart person out there has had this problem and invented a cunning solution.

    all the best... /JL

    This is an approach that must preserve the titles, legends and existing keywords:

    1. export the keywords (and possibly captions or titles) of all your videos to a file text using the plugin LR/carrier.

    2 remove all the videos of the catalog.

    3. import videos, pick up metadata from sidecars of THM.

    4 use LR/transporter to import keywords from a file of text in step 1.

    The latest version of the plugin of the ListView also provides a similar function that is optimized for experienced Excel users.

    Of course, make a backup of your catalog before you start.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit: MP3 edition & display of metadata in windows explore

    I have a question about WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64 BIT and edit and display METADATA of MP3 files in windows Explorer. Windows Explorer does not allow me to change the metadata (contributing artists, genre, year, etc.) on some of my MP3 files. Change is made at the bottom of the browser or right click on the MP3 file and edit in the Details tab in the properties. Sometimes the metadata are referred to as tags.

    The error I get when I try to change metadata in windows Explorer is:

    Error 0x8007000D: the data is invalid

    This is a new computer and Windows 7 is pre-installed.

    Help please!

    I'd even though my library removing these hidden ID3v2.4 tags, I found a quick, if making mp3tag. Select a whole bunch of songs (no matter if they have the extra layer of ID3v2.4 tags) and remove the labels. Then click on the Cancel button. During the cancellation he writes only ID3v2.3 tags and remove the hidden ID3v2.4 tags. This way is easier because I don't have to worry about destroying it the tag data id3 files that do not have the problem.

  • Batch editing objects in Acrobat Pro ms (Mac)

    Is it possible batch edit a text object that is repeated in a document using object editing commands? Thank you.

    As I said, this is not possible with Adobe Acrobat - at least not without help. The Enfocus PitStop plug-ins for Acrobat (it's a 3rd party product) can make some changes in batches, and he may be able to remove the watermark - as long as you can describe (in terms of PitStop) how the watermark can be identified.

  • Windows Media Player: Edit the titles and album names

    My husband ripped an album on a CD for me, but does not burn the CD on my drive. How do I title the album and each track on the CD? If the extracted tracks are not be written to the CD, this will be a problem later? Thanks for your help.

    Hi Godda Kwestin,

    You can change the titles, and then burn it to a CD when you want. You have different ways to add information to the media. The article explains in detail.

  • Title metadata display correctly in iPad not in iPhone maps are!

    Hello world!!!

    I have 12 cards of navigation, all titles my map metadata display correctly in ipad Viewer, but not in the viewer of the iPhone 6!

    I'm using the models of the top image. I tried to change the font size, padding, etc... But does not work!  It seems imposible to fix! Any suggestions or advice please?

    Thanks in advance!

    With a superior image format for your card, it is quite possible that your proportions of the image almost matches the shape of your card - and which would require the label out of sight. Since your phone and Tablet have different global proportions, that is why the label on your iPad, but not your iPhone. Your design aspect ratio and image map corresponds better to the phone, so there's less room for the label to appear.

    So to change the proportions of the image, increase the height of the map, change the proportions of page layout grid or use a different card format. The first three options are how/where twist you (stretches) forms.

  • Batch process PDF Copyright metadata using JavaScript

    Tutorial of Thom Parker "JavaScript in batch" it is said that metadata copyright notice can be set via

    This.info.Copyright = 'YOUR c-STRING ";

    However, Adobe Acrobat X Pro on Mac OS X, this does not work for me, as for example

    This.info.Author = "author here DΘfinir;

    does not work. I even tried to "this.info.CopyrightNotice" - which has been emphasized in other tutorials - but nothing works. Anyone happen to know if there is a way to set the three fields 'status', 'copyright law of information' and 'copyright url' JavaScript in a sequence of batch processing?

    Thank you so much in advance.

    Code will add metadata customized to the subject of information that you want to add metadata XMP standard such as shown here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.403.html

  • LR3 DNG edit in Photoshop does not open in Camera Raw

    I have LR 3.2 64 bit and v12.0.1 CS5 and Camera Raw 6.2 on Windows 7 64bits. I do 95% of my editing in Lightroom. Sometimes I choose 'Edit in Photshop' and in the past a DNG or CR2 image open in Camera Raw (at least I think that's the case). Recently however, I have noticed that if I have a DNG or a CR2 file, right click and select 'open in Photoshop... '. ' open the file directly in Photoshop, not in Camera Raw. I tried to delete my LR3 preference, clear my preferences of CS5 and deleting both, but the behavior does not change. Does anyone have an idea to explain this?

    Thank you

    Alan.

    There is nothing wrong with the behavior you are because the image is not supposed to Open in Camera Raw, nor should he.

  • View filed instructions (that s under the IPTC Core metadata).

    Hi all

    I m new to programming scripts in Photoshop... and tried everything but was not able to modify the script below. Let´s explain that this script is in the folder by default Adobe Photoshop and work to show the camera model used for the current image.

    Now... the challenge... I want to change the script when you run the TI watch a field entitled Instructions (that s located in the tab the IPTC Core XMP metadata (in Photoshop > Open Image > go to the file menu > option File Info and see the IPTC Core tab > training).)

    Can someone please help me to change these lines. This can make it very simple for you, but it s actually very difficult for me; This basic script is what I have and works very well to display the camera model:

    try {}

    var xmpString = activeDocument.xmpMetadata.rawData.toString ();

    var tiffModelLength = (' < tiff: model > ') .length;

    var tiffModel = xmpString.search ("< tiff: model > ');

    var tiffModelEnd = xmpString.search ("< / tiff: model > '");

    var tiffModelStr = xmpString.substr (tiffModel + tiffModelLength, tiffModelEnd - tiffModel - tiffModelLength);

    If (tiffModelStr.length > 0) {}

    Alert (tiffModelStr + locate (' $$$ '));

    }

    check the exif data

    var exifModelStr = ";

    var exifData = activeDocument.info.exif;

    for (var i = 0; i < exifData.length; i ++) {}

    If (exifData [i] [0] == 'Model') {}

    }

    }

    } / / end try

    {} catch (e)

    / / always wrap your script with try/catch blocks so that you do not stop production

    / / delete the comments below to see the error for debugging

    / / alert (e);

    }

    ---
    I thank very you much for any help.
    Gustavo.

    Oregon,

    Securities are recorded in the file PRPROJ (project), as what PrPro 1.0 (?).

    If you want to use them again and in other projects, just Save_As_Template. They will then be available in any project. You would choose just Menu > based on model, then navigate to Oregon\Title templates, or the location of your choice.

    Note: It will be in the format of the RTC, which cannot be used in PrPro, or PrElements.

    Good luck
