  I can't have the Volume control icon to display in the notification area.  The option to check - always show - is not available in the audio configuration section, as it was in XP.  It is a recent issue as Volume control has always been there before.

  To see the State of health of the disks and RAID configurations on a HP host, you must install CIM HP (aka offline Bundle) providers for the specific ESXi version on the host. However, I checked the HP support web site, and there's no CIM providers for the server model you are using.

  I have a HP DL380G5 and G7 host running with installed CIM providers and health status occurs when connect directly to vCenter as well as for the host.

  Depends on what you used for the backup.

  If you used the windows backup or another backup software will contain the entire disk will be a backup file, and view/use this file, you use the same software that allows you to save.

  To me, it seems that something went wrong with the clichés (I guess they are / were created by a backup application). Due to the size of the files I guess more that snapshots were created and not modified.

  If this is the case, you can delete the virtual machine to inventory, edit the vmx file by

  replacement of

  scsi0:1.filename = LHMU-VIC04_1 - 000004.vmdk

  with

  scsi0:1.filename = LHMU - VIC04_1.vmdk

  then right-click on the vmx file in browser data store and add it to the inventory.

  Before adding it to the inventory, delete the snapshot vmdk files (those with '00000 x' in their file names) as well as the vmsd file. BTW, you can also remove the zdump file if you want.

  If you are not sure if snapshots contain valid data, take a look at the (small) header files vmdk. If the CID and the parentCID match, snapshots were created while the virtual machine has been powered down.

  If you are not sure, please post back before doing anything.

I expressly say display because I believe that Firefox has started. To work around the problem, I installed Process Explorer on both machines and launch this program first, then click on the Firefox icon. When the problem occurs I see process Firefox.exe in the list of processes; some CPU consumed but, then, no CPU activity. If I click on the Firefox icon, yet another process opens in the list of processes, but with the same answer - some consumed CPU and then no CPU activity. If I have 2 processes running and kill the process from the 1st, the 2nd poster and then everything is normal. If I do not open it treat a 2nd, but kill the 1st process then click the Firefox Firefox is displayed and all then is normal. This problem has occurred since the original on the two new machines installation. I have updated the video drivers on both computers.
