  I have a Palm m515 I bought nearly eight years ago.  It's great.  However, I had a hard time to recharge, so I bought a new m515.  I have the basic software loaded on my Dell Inspiron 600 m with Windows XP on it.  The old software and data is already loaded on my Dell 600 m and I want just to sync my new m515 with old data.  The new m515 came with a CD.  I'm not able to sync the m515 again with the old software m515 on my Dell 600 m.  I don't want to lose the old data or software.  When I put the new Palm m515 on the cradle and press the HotSync button, I get a message on my Dell 600 m asks me to insert the new CD - and when I put the CD in the drive, I get this message: this driver is not digitally signed.  Then when I go to what it means, I get the following message:

  I would be very happy to just use the Palm and 'old' FranklinCovey Software and not to load the new software (which she doesn't let me do anyway).  If someone has already tried to use a new m515 with the old m515 software, please tell me how to do this.  Thank you.  John

  Well, I understand how not to do that - so no need to answer.  The two m515s appear to have identical and data software on them so that they are now completely synchronized.  Please ignore my question.  John

  Ive read through the forums trying everything proposed to get the m515 hotsync with xp.

  Windows xp pro, mem 4 concerts, 700 gigs HD space, CPU 2.1gig.

  I'm using the palm1 software and want the address book transfer.

  have hotsync manager running and I get a popup 'window hotsync', but none of the data from the Palm1 software (downloaded from the website of palm) is transferred.  Yes, the power plug and the USB is plugged.

  515 Hotsync shows long ok calendar, AddressBook etc...

  yet data will not be transferred.

  There is a page of settings where it sets the sync, either IR or via cradel/modem...

  I changed the setting to the cradle/modem and it Sync for the first time.

• Looking for Palm M515 Internet app

  I have a M515 is currently used with a Win XP Pro box to synchronize over the Internet with a proprietary database.  I'm migrating to Windows 7, and of course there is no USB drivers for the M515 that will work for Win 7.

  The solution I found is to run in XP Mode in Virtual PC running on the Windows 7 computer.  I've done this and installed Palm Desktop 4.1.4 and can do a Hotsync "regular" as well.

  However, when I install the lines provided by the company that manages the database, the synchronization operation fails with a cryptic error: "Unable to write data to the client database."

  Technical support was not very useful.  Their main suggestion is to uninstall and reinstall their leads software.  It does not help.  Their suggestion was that maybe the firewall or a / v intrudes.  They have said, "check the list of exceptions and make sure that Hotsync manager is a program allowed to access the internet."  Of course, on the box 'normal' XP, Hotsync manager is NOT on the list of exceptions, but I added it anyway in my virtual XP machine.  No help.

  I'm running the XP virtual machine as a user with administrator rights, so permissions should not be a problem... but I can't get technical support to identify the files to look at anyway.

  I would like to find an application add-on free that I could install that accesses a Web site, a bit as AvantGo used to do, I can't support that other software on the Palm can access the Internet fine.  I can't find something.  Everyone wants webbrowsers today, that does not match the idea of sync'ing once a day or more.

  For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.  If I can't do this work on a virtual XP machine, I'll have to find a place to put a dedicated XP box that does nothing but provide a warm host my M515 of synchronization.

  Check in the Windows Hotsync jury for 64-bit ACCEECA USB drivers which referred to as akid.  Also, if you try to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 you should also try the www.pimlicosoftware.com freeware utility called PalmHotsyncSetup.  This utility adds inherited (i.e. old) Palm OS Palm Desktop 6.2.2 device compatibility.

• Organizer Pocket Palm M515 will not install on my pc

  I have a Palm M515 handheld organizer. I just bought a new HP PC. I downloaded Palm Desktop software without problem. The problem I have is that it will not install my Palm data (addresses, calendar, etc) on my new PC. It will not recognize the HotSync or recognize the data after that I copied it on a cd.

  I bought a 1 GB card for my M515 and copied a bunch of pictures of her (197 or so, so far).  Now how to display them?  I know that they are there because the selection 'Info card' tells 'Secure Digital Card.... 33.7 MB used... free 918.4 of MB 952,1"I think that I need additional software like I did not"media"icon on my screen, 515.  I have spent many hours of research on the net, but do not hold my mouth just because I can't find any photo software that says it's working on the M515.  I looked at the picture Splash page, but apparently it does not work on the M515.

  I bought the 515 of Overstock dot com and received NO support or documentation with it.  No CD.  No user manual. Nothing.  Just the 515 and the claw.  I went to the Palm website and got the software and it works, as I have my calendar, contacts, and a bunch of notes on this subject.  But I would really like to see the photos too!

  Original installation discs for the old Palm handhelds are becoming difficult to find.  Your best bet is to keep an eye on eBay.

  An alternative would be something like this., Resco Viewer Lite for $15.  Check out the other photo viewers Palmgear.com to something that would be compatible with your m515.

• Synchronization using two m515s and no computer

  I use the brand Palm 16 MB card weekly backup in a Palm m515 and successfully return from the card to the Palm have restored a couple of times. But my old friend begins to fail, so I bought a replacement m515, did a hard reset on it and tried to restore to the 'new' m515.  Everything transferred (Palm apps, apps of third parties, data) except the calendar data.  The user name on both Palms is identical (at least it seems the same to me and put on the 'new' m515 during the restore process).

  Does anyone know a reason why this file gets popped?  Even the Splash encrypted data files, third party, sailed through...

  (P.S. I have not used the centuries Palm Desktop software, because my computer is a Mac vintage.  But I did check it (as well as previous on this forum messages) and concluded that the profile/user name that it is the same on the 'old' and 'new' m515s. BUT the computer was not used in my efforts to backup and restore between the palms of hand.)

  I installed the software for my new z22, but don't hotsync with the data from my old m515, which is no longer visible in the old format.  I thought I had installed the new software with a different username, but only the new user name is displayed in the window of palm (upper-right).  I could not accomplish the transfer of my old data to the new software, and I was also able to hotsync cable. Data (address book, Notepad and calendar are what I use) is still on my hard drive in the form of DAT files.  Can I make the transfer via the import, and if so, is there a tool to convert the format DAT s/n, which is the only choice of format in the import window?

  To be able to import the dat file, you must type an asterisk (*) in the 'Filename' box in the import window, and then press ENTER. This should display all the contents of the Directory including the dat file. From here you could just proceed with the import.

  Try to get itunes working to make a backup of my faulty iphone before repair.

  First-itunes does not start says error. I'm trying to fix it, who said success but same error when you try to start it.

  I had the same problem with my iCloud account notes. What I did to fix it was to stop the synchronization of notes in the account settings and remove them from the phone, then went to notes, and it does not plant.

  When he reactivated redownloaded them all and it was fine. I think it could have been a picture in one of them makes it crash because it seems to do it every time I loaded a specific note with an embedded image. After resynchronization is OK.
