M57P fan noise Fix

I just got a M57P 9071-A2U and fans just run flat. I found elements of support on this problem, I downloaded/installed the Intel program but nothing changes or I do not understand what I need to do after installing the program. I don't see no fan option in the bios which is version 2RKT60AUS. Operating system is Vista.

Could someone please walk me through this before making me deaf?

Thank you!

Woo Hoo! Problem solved OS power management settings are now working with the new MB and had strangled the CPU. Finally this doorstop has been transformed into a fast PC which itself the breath on the desktop.

  • Issue of fan noise

I've seen a few posts on this topic but does not know if it is a universal problem or random. Was taken with my F5 and really noticed the fan noise today. I switched it off auto during recording who works at first, but later the fan again even while recording. Is what happens to the camera for everyone and will be fixed with an update or a problem on random cameras?

I really hope there is a solution. I turned 'off' fan, but it lights up again. In a quiet environment, this will be a problem.

  • Pavilion 15 p248ne: loud fan noise and vibrate

Hello, so he started to happen when I move the laptop one day (when it's on) fan me all of a sudden very hard and the laptop everything vibrated, it sounded like the fan was touch something running which makes vibration and noise, it sounds exactly like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkCLubSukzI I fixed it by restarting the laptop (sleeping too work looks like everything that makes the fan stop) but now It happens randomly, the normal fan noise has changed and there sometimes as fort again, as demonstrated in the video and then I have to restart to fix it. I tried to open up the laptop, but a few screws were too hard and stuck lol so I gave up. and I cleaned the vents of the dust.

    Hey @amro2,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

You mentioned that you hear a thud and the HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p248ne vibrates when this happens. You thought that it sounded like the fan touched something in rotation. I also watched the YouTube video that you had provided for me. This was very helpful! Thank you.

Perhaps one of the possibilities is that the fan should be cleaned.

Even if you had not indicated that you do not encounter any problems with the heat, there is a document called a Fan is Noisy and runs constantly. • ThinkPad X120e unusual fan noise

I've had my X120e for awhile now and I'm happy with it. The normal fan noise didn't me don't bother, but lately I've heard some strange fan noises when I take the laptop at an angle.

If I start to slowly turn on the right side, I hear a fan noise that sounds like the fan is catching on something inside. This noise stops after two seconds, but again as I continue to turn to the laptop. I already opened and tried blowing into the fan, remove the dust, but it still makes the noise sometimes. The laptop continues to operate normally when I hear this noise.

This could be the cause? Is this something I need to worry?

    Thank you in advance.

Oh, I fixed it. The fan power cables were a little too close to the fan blades and fan would sometimes catch on them. I just raised a little further, and it stopped making noise.

  • (R5 Aurora Alienware desktop computer) loud fan noise

Hi, I recently bought a desktop computer Alienware Aurora R5 for the games.

It has graphics GTX 1070, 32 GB of RAM and i7 CPU.

The PC itself is great and if I play movies/music or make internet surfing is very quiet.

But if I try to make games with it the fan noise becomes unbearably high... almost like an airplane taking off.

I updated my BIOS and DELL technician has replaced all fans inside the PC, but they do not at all help.

Are there not in some way you can help me? Thank you in advance!

Recommendation to receive a block of power SUPPLY from Dell free exchange:

I use my Aurora R5 with an i7 7600 and GTX 1070 mainly for RVS with a live HTC and had the same problem with the PSU 460W fan revving up and down all the time without load on the machine (!) and open a folder with Dell online support. In the process, I could prove that the behaviour of the PSU is a systematic failure, which can be reproduced as follows:

If you run a diagnostic self-test on BACK ePSA / bios level (press F12 repeatedly during the startup of your PC) during the game "memory test" PSU fan will do limit it sounds known. To make sure that it is not the CPU or caissons fans you can run the test with the case open, fan power supply sounds diffently.

In Windows 10 If you open "Steam VR" usually the PSU revvs down, but as soon as you close (!) VR steam revvs fan power supply upwards like crazy for at least a minute without any load to the machine.

Dell support yesterday confirmed they got the same systematic results and agreed to share the power supply to my home free of charge under warranty and a technique.

During the debate, I'm going to scrutiny if the swap it 1:1 or replaced by another type of power supply.

If your diet of nuisance is model D460AM, the above remedies / method implies that you may receive a repeat offender if they send another D460AM

  • The Pavilion S3120N fan noise

After that Hp replaced the motherboard under the extended warranty, because one quiet old work, I now have a very high sound level because the processor cooling fan runs at high speed for most.

Talk to the HP support brought no solution, it's just frustrating. According to them there is no relationship between the change of the motherboard and the fan noise. We had the computer for two years and had no problems with that, in fact we where he is very happy that the computer was running on these levels to low noise constantly.

I was search the HP solutions provides on the middle section of solution, also without success, even after the update of BIOS, change the power settings in Windows etc... After opening the envelope, it appears, they have changed the cooling with the motherboard fan. He now has an installed Taisol fan unit, which seems to be the problem with the noise level. This instrument will create just more noise, and since I can expect not any help more HP, on it, I'm looking into replacing the unit of my self with a calm. Anyone out there with a similar problem and a solution for this?

Thanks for the thought, I managed to fix it myself. Pretty embarrassing for the workshop to repair HP actually, all I had to do was reinstall the fan on top of the processor. They need had installed it so that the fan was a little out of whack, in order to not cool properly or does not correctly recorded temperature. After the seizure of the device, to see if there is anything wrong with the base, I just applied again past the heat at the base and screw them on. I made sure that the four screws that hold in place cooling unit are linked on the cross.

Now I can run the computer at full load and almost never have the noise level that I had before.

What frustrates me is the fact, that hotline HP never even considered that there could be a problem with the installation or even assuming that there is a relationship between the replacement of the motherboard and the problem of noise that I was complaining. The people I spoke with, including the supervisor of technical support, when he is very eager to sell me a warranty plan extended, rather than listening to my problem. Well this isn't the right place to start even on this issue, but some things need to be said. Treat your customers with more respect and make sure you listen to the explanations out there, after all we all suck when it comes to computers!

  • HP HP Pavilion dm4-3002ea Beats edition, the strange fan noise

Hey guys first post so sorry if this isn't the correct procedure to indicate the problem or the right section!
I have a HP Pavilion dm4-3002ea beats edition laptop, bought about a year and a half (so out of warranty).

Now, the problem of the half that I have is a terribly strange fan noise coming from the laptop ONLY when it was hibernation, it is Purring away while I'm typing on it now, fan works fine, no overheating or issues like that, I can game, leave it on for hours etc its perfectly fine. The only problem is in hibernation it! I always put in hibernation in order to keep all my work of University ready to leave when I'm back on it, with all my tabs and such always opens on the sections, I need. It is very good that he hibernates without problem. Its when I go and turn it back on, it makes a vibration noise which I assume is the fan for about 15-20 seconds (?) as his recovery after hibernation and then is perfectly fine once more. He never did this noise after the sequence of the hibernation, or when I restart it. It's awfully strange and something I want to just make sure is not a real problem that I need this laptop for my university work. I can only assume, is the fan that makes noise, but it could be the HARD drive maybe? Not too sure on this one. He never blue screens etc, the HDD works fine so I'm really at a loss here! Any advice would be appreciated.
Also I tried to clean the air fan, but I did not dare in disassemble correctly yet because it looks pretty complex of youtube, resembles access sick fan have to jump off the keyboard and the back which is a lot of effort. But if it goes bad opens and take a peek! I would like to know what it is, but I don't want to tinker with the bowels, as I used to do with my old laptop so its something stupid that is easily fixed! Also I always Hibernate it instead of closing it down, but being quite computer should not do lasting damage, I'm good? I mean he puts just the data disk HARD ready to be accessed the next time I turn it on? But hurt close more if this will help!
Another quick problem which is pretty stupid because it is a HP Beats edition... half the speakers do not work on the right side of the laptop! Ironically, good! I'm not too fussed as its plugged in speakers on my desk, most of the time, but still it's pretty boring, as well. It creaked and went off one day and then he jumped several times on but now seemed to give up! The other side works well, reinstall all drivers etc to make sure that it isn't is not material, so I guess a loose cable? Pretty stupid, really, but still I guess another reason for me to break open and get to the bottom of this! As laptops out of warranty and I don't really want to take to a store of the laptop, in the hope of an old House of the noise of the fan if possible challenge! Speakers aren't that big a deal as always half works very well.

    If necessary, these specifications:

    HP Pavilion dm4-3002ea
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Intel i5 2450M 2.50 Ghz processor

12 GB of Ram (I have added 8 gb on ago about 6 months so the amount)

    750 GB HARD drive.

    Congratulations to all!

    Hi Jack_DM4

If I understand correctly you are updated, but we have still the sound issue only with the laptop not on devices so it looks like that the speakers on the right side of your laptop may be missing and vibration is still ongoing with the fan, but only when it starts first to the top that looks like a balancing problem.

These two problems are hardware related but will not cause any damage to your computer. The speakers can be replaced if you choose by contacting HP here parts store and you place your order of new speakers and their replacement. If you are under warranty I would get fixed under warranty.

The problem of vibration is just the fan rebalance itself when it starts first to the top once it gets to the speed of the passing air forces hovering in the centre of balance so he and when he settles down if imbalance. If you can deal with noise very well, otherwise you can order a new one from the link above HP parts store.

If you are still under warranty I would strongly suggest that you get the notebook repaired under warranty as you may void the warranty if you open the notebook. If this is the case

I think it would be best if you contacted technical support HP for repair options.

Link US support for contact options for portable computers purchased in the United States.

Link to American support outside of the contact options for laptops purchased outside the United States.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums and please feel free to re-post if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great day!

  • Portege R700 - 11G - high and annoying fan noise

    Dear friends:

    I have a Portege R700 - 11G, I bought only two weeks ago.

The computer works fine, except for the high and annoying fan noise.

Even do nothing, only to start and sometimes in the bios Setup, the fan is always turn with a temperature of 40 ° or 50.

I've updated the BIOS and I don't know what to do.

    Can someone help me please?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi mate

Please check the settings in the Windows 7 power management!

There you can optimize the CPU and cooling performance module this should help reduce heat dissipation and fan speed.

In addition I recommend upgrading the Toshiba Fingerprint Software immediately to the version V1.0.2.32 or higher. In addition, turn off the power save option of fingerprint device in Device Manager.

Device Manager->-> authentic Tec Inc AES1610-> the power management of biometric devices

Here, you will have to remove the mark next to the option called allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Disable the power saving mode will reduce the life of the battery, so you can check whether or not it helps reduce noise.

  • BIOS update solved the Portege M400 fan noise

The new version of BIOS (1.8) for Portege M400 solves the problem of fan noise. The Readme.txt explains that the temperature will rise only in three degrees. Very important, very recommended patch for users of M400.

Now I can use my tablet in my business meetings without having to give explanations to customers of the fan noise.

    Greetings.

    Hello Jose

It is very nice to hear that you are happy now. I read your previous assignments and I can understand you this annoying issue with cooling fan, but now you can see this laptop manufacturer is trying to make the product better, even if the product is on the market.

I am also certain that customer s comments can help identify the problem if persist und after this systematic search for the solution or change for the better.

  • Fan noise after changing graphics - Qosmio F10-101

Two months ago, I had my graphics from nvidia fx 5700 for nvidia geforce go 6600.
Since my computer toshiba qosmio f10-101. After changing the old graphics card there is a fan noise that starts and stops every 2 minutes, it makes me crazy whenever I'm hear.

Can someone tell me if this is normal and if they know if the specific card is noisy in any laptop? or if there are ways to remove this noise or to maximize the speed of the noise. ??

  • Satellite A660-12 t / A660-1FL - which we have less fan noise?

A couple of days, I received my brand new Toshiba A660 12 t. Everything is perfect except the noise from the fan. It is particularly strong for me that I often use the laptop in the library. For simple tasks, the fan runs between 59% and 67%. I tried different things to play with the power settings for the Bios upgrade and graphics card but nothing has changed.

Now I want to go back and change it with the Toshiba A660-1FL. Why this one? Two laptops have the same characteristics and the same price except the graphics card and the CPU. mine comes with Nvidia 330 m and I5-430. on the other side, the A660-1FL comes with the integrated Intel GMA HD and the I5 - 460.
I thought that maybe the graphics card is the reason!
Does anyone know if the fan noise will be reduced if I use a less dedicated graphics card? Should I change? in this case the GMA HD is a good graphics card?
If someone uses a Toshiba A660-1FL, could you please tell me if the fan is strong?

I appreciate your help. Thanks in advance

    Hello

NVidia GPU is a powerful graphics card, and especially these maps are designed for games.
The GPU from Intel is also a good graphics chip, but it of not powerful as the nvidia chip.
The nVidia chip would allow the current apps much smother but it creates more heat.

This would affect the cooling fans which means that the fans would go more quickly and often.
So, theoretically the laptop with Intel GPU should be a little more quiet.

  • Satellite L650 1NC - the fan noise

I bought the laptop in February 2011 and the fan noise deteriorated over time, now. I've read many threads in this forum and elsewhere about this problem and I think that the problems are basically the same.

Now that I've read some that messages stating that the new BIOS, released in September have apparently solved the problem, I did a BIOS update (Version 2.3) to meet the same problem again.

The fan stops when the temperature is below a certain threshold, in my case according to CoreTemp it seems to be at about 50-55 ° C. At the moment the fan turns off, which is also confirmed by the monitor of health indicating the 0% fan speed.
This leads to the CPU temperature increases until the fan is used to about 55-60% fanspeed.
This process repeats every 15-20 seconds and is very annoying.

It gets worse, but if I start to actually do something like a request to open from the web browser - nothing serious, really, I don't want to start even complain about the noise while game/watch movies.
The fan speed will be 70-75% as soon as the CPU gets the work to be done.
The noise that results is unacceptable for 20-30 seconds.

Noise is an important factor for me. At the University I can't use it as my fellow students are too distracted by its noise. To work my colleagues began to complain as well.
As I use my cell phone while being out of my own office/home it is basically useless for me now.

Has anyone else still issues after the recent updates to the BIOS?
Is there a way to put the fan always runs at around 30-40%?

    All opinions are appreciated.

    Hello

Cooling module performance depend on the internal temperature.
If the temperature arise at a higher level, the fan must turn more quickly to prevent equipment overheating it's usual behavior.

But you can try to change some Windows 7 power management settings.
This will reduce the performance of the CPU and the dissipation of the heat and that should slow down the activity of the fan too.

Here is instruction how to change the Windows 7 power management.

  • Satellite 2450 S203 fan noise problems

    Hi guys

I had a Sat 2450 S203 since October 2003 and have recently noticed that whenever I run memory intensive programs fan noise levels are excessive and constant!

If someone could Advisor on the replacement of the fan and know if I should do it myself. Please also comment on the impact on costs as well. Are there other ways around to get rid of this problem?

    Hello

After this long period, your device must be cleaned properly. I guess that dust inside the unit don't allow adequate cooling and cooling fan must often runs and faster to cool the hardware components. It is not only specific for your device, but for all laptops.

I'm sure that after cleaning, your device can take a deep breath and will work a lot better and calmer. I noticed the same thing with my Satellite P20. After cleaning the laptop runs very quiet and cooling fan just works sometimes. I'm very happy now.
