M9340F power supply replacement

I replaced the power supply on my M9340F. I have the replacement, he is doing very well. However, I have 2 questions:

1. I have to remove the DVD drive in order to to fix the power supply to the memory card reader device. However, I can't get the DVD player in the Bay! I undid the clasp on the side, but only allows me to drag on about 1 inch. There's something else blocking its removal, and I don't see what it is. I only removed one side (if you look at the front pc system unit, the right side is removed). I attempted to try and remove the front plate before, but I was afraid I would break something, so I stopped.

2. at some point, the HP media drive USB connector became one. I see several USB connections on the motherboard (01 USB, USB 02, etc.), and the connector appears to each of them. One that I re - attach to does it matter?

Thank you.

Hello bassman592, to remove the DVD drive, you will need to remove the front panel. It is very easy to do, but should be done with care. The bezel has three clips for fixing plastic on the side of the case open. Just lift those stars very lightly just enough to unlock them and then rotate the bezel to the left, as if it were a hinge to the other side. The other side has 3 plastic clips attached to the bezel. Once the bezel has reached the other side, the front will detach. To remove the DVD disc, you need to unlock the mount and the DVD player will slide enough before you unplug the sata data cable and the power cable.  Then, the DVD player will come offered free of the case. You should be able to access the reader at this point. Reassemble in reverse.

Yes, the Thermaltake TR2 500W ATX12V power supply you linked to should fit in your computer case. Also consider the Corsair CX500 and CX600. Two of these power supplies are highly recommended and are known to fit in many cases of HP computer.

Also, if anyone knows about the actual model and details of one that comes with (pines, watts, efficiency) that would be appreciated.

Once I bought a replacement and it didn't fit because of the very compact housing.

    Thanks in advance.

Well, in regards to the power, I think that a 220 watt power supply will do. Regarding the size, if you live in America, I take to Tiger Direct and let them help you. They are very friendly and intelligent. Help most basic is free. It wouldn't hurt.

They carry several alternative energy supplies. They wear very probably one you need.

After checking, it looks like the power you need.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 850-065se: HP ENVY Phoenix 850-065se Power Supply replacement Question

On point to start using my new 850se and, like others, have long-term supply concerns with the unit from 500W to come with this model. Finally the PSU will have to be dealt with during the upgrade or this power will die quickly.  I thought I could just install a Modular 750W Cool Master PSU I have to just to fix the problem from the outset for the life of the platform. I jumped open the case and power supply cables was moving to look at and check the PSU is actually 500W (it is).

At first glance, everything in the 850se looks compact and compatible with a new PSU standard - then something cought my eye. Someone else saw the connector connecting the power supply that connects in the CD player? I'm not some tech pro by any means, but I'm not completely new at this stuff, and for the life of me I can't understand what is the connector. I am confused where I am fearful that it's some exclusive HP nonsense. I have never seen him and can not find maps while rummaging around looking. My only thought was there must be an adapter for the FDD or the 4 pin connector. I hope it is something simple that, for some reason, I just never saw.

If it's something completely owner, then I guess I can go along without the cd player. It's not like I need for what these days - but would of course I would powered it so it is an option.

Help at all or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Specs below:

    Kupchr36, welcome to the forum.

The PSU is ATX standard.  You should be able to update without any problem.  However, until you decide to upgrade the video card, it should work fine.  There is a lot of power for OEM components.  Personally, I love the Corsair products.  They are lovers of quality at a reasonable price.

  • Replace the power supply on my m9340f

    Hello

I own a Pavilion Elite m9340f and I need to replace the power supply (it has the original), because the power on button failure, which I did research on forums and the solution replaces the power supply (psu led always on, for example).

But I need to know exactly what kind of food I buy (amp, voltage, PIN number, dimensions, etc.) because I need help on the specifications.

I'm not planning to upgrade the motherboard the case, original hp. I read in another post something on the power restriction and benicia supporting more than 450 watts power supply motherboard. I find this absurd information, because components draw necessary power from the PSU without worrying if it's 350 or 700 watts. So is one of the things that I need to be confirmed if there is restriction of power.

    Thanks in advance,

    Prince of Jeronimo Ramos

    Jeronimo, welcome to the forum.

I believe that any standard ATX PSU must be inserted into the case.  I like Corsair and OCZ.  They are excellent manufacturers.  I suggest to measure the PSU existing and comparing measures to whichever you choose.  As far as I know, there is no restriction on the power.  I did this for a long time.  More than 550W to 600W in your computer is not necessary, however.

  • HP Pavilion Elite m9340f replacement video card and power supply

    Hello

I bought my HP Pavilion Elite at Best Buy m9340f in 2009 and brought it to the Venezuela where I live now.

My video card, started making the noise of the typical fan geforce 9500gs can do. The temperature of the gpu is very high (from 73 ° c without playing or watching videos!), and I'id like to replace it as soon as possible before my material fails completely.

But the power supply 350w, to replace any video card decent needed to change my diet too. I have not the slightest idea of what type of power supply should I buy, and if I should replace the case too. My intention is to keep my cpu, my mother, my hard drive and my ram (purchase of a new system to the Venezuela is out of the question because of the barbarian prices in this country).

Then to take the questions in order, I'll here:

-I want another video card (geforce 9500gs is known for his failure, so I want to upgrade to a more powerful card)

-To do this, I need another power supply, so I need recommendations on the provision of market models which CORRESPOND to my HP Pavilion Elite m9340f or

-replace also the case: what kind of business should I need that corresponds to the motherboard of benicia

    Thanks in advance

    Jeronimo Ramos-Prince

The information below was previously published by Big_Dave in response to several other posters about their questions about GPU upgrades. Prices shown are in U.S. dollars and for American retailers.

Your PC has a 350 Watt PSU if below video cards will work:

    $50--->NVIDIA GT 430 9.6 Gbps - single slot width

    $65--->NVIDIA GT 520 8 Gbps - single slot width

    $80--->NVIDIA GT 440 25.6 GB/s - single slot width

$130-->NVIDIA GT 545 43 Gbps - location single width - could be hard to find but perhaps only in the store

$110-->NVIDIA GT 240 1 GB DDR5. 54.4 GB/s - single slot width. This card does not support DirectX 11 which is eventually used in some of the latest PC games but it's a great performer.

Review the performance of NVIDIA specifications. Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

I normally don't recommend video cards AMD for PC with a 350 Watt power supply as AMD provides 400 watts or more for most of its video cards.

My question is, is there enough tolerance in the Tecra A3x to manage the additional 4 volts or will it damage the laptop.

    Hi mate,

It of not possible to use your diet with higher volt.
The case is the following: the power supply must have the same volt as the laptop needs. In this case, it s 15V. The amperage must be at least 4 a or higher, that s no problem, but more low amperage doesn t work!

So be careful! You need new power supply 15V and 4A or later power.

Last but not least, you can get a new power supply to an authorized service provider! :)

    Hello

The power supply for my 320 GB external hard drive (PX1223E - 1 32) that I bought a year ago died. I'm a little annoyed that the player has been barely used and only just out of storage after a move of the House!

Can anyone help to track down a replacement to the United Kingdom? It's the brand Dura Micro Inc. AC adapter 100-240V 1. 2 a + 12V 1. 2 a + 5V 2A and the PDC resembles a connector 4-pin type 'DIN' of power.

Does anyone have a contact email address for Customer service/returns under UK that it is possible to replace it under warranty.

    Hello

    What s about your dealer?
In your case I would contact the retailer where you bought this part and if your warranty is valid, you should get a replacement unit or unit must be sent for repair.
