  Hi, I think I have a problem.

  Yesterday, I put my macbook (for the first time in a while) sleep mode before went to bed.

  About 5 hours later, I started my macbook and pop up then came when I clicked on the link on the site that I do not close.

  Then my mac freeze when it tried to load the site pop up.

  The situation was like my mouse pad gel as it was locked.

  I'm freaked out and force shutdown my mac. Then I turned off my wifi router.

  After a minute or two, I turned on my mac and everything was fine.

  I scanned my mac using free antivirus Avira and nothing came out.

  I would like to know if there is a chance that I had viruses, malware or something like that?

  If so, what should I do?

  I use a Satellite M60 laptop with Win XP and I bought this laptop on 11/15/2005.

  I use hypotheek virus protection software and some anti-sypware tools.

  But from the beginning to use notebook without user action.

  I can't solve the problem because the parameters for the laptop are "Office" and never "stop" for the hard drive and monitor in the energyoptions.
  'Standby' is set to 'never' too.

  I thought, that Toshiba tools are the problem and so I uninstall them, but this does not solve the problem.

  Who have had the same problem and solved it?

  I have a Qosmio X 500 - 12N and got a major prolem, not always but about 4/10 times, the computer crashes, (not authorized stock, mouse freeze, sound continues to repeat) even if I did not open any program or I do nothing

  I have to shut the power button, so no information is sent to the support system. (and stop cold is not very good for the computer, lol)

  I tried all the updates, drivers, software care pc, defragging, scandisk, cleaners registry etc etc and the problem persists.

  I use the Satellite P500 and it's also big machine like your Qosmio but so far I didn't noticed similar problems working on it.
  It is not easy to say why this happens, but somehow, I think that some background process is blocking your Qosmio.

  Do you have a lot of additional software installed? As you know many of them begin with OS and runs in the background. Try to stop all unnecessary processes and also all of them that you need for your work and you will see if it happens again.

  I m afraid there is not a simple trick to avoid this, and you have to find the reasons why this happen.

  I have an old iMac (mid 2007), Mac, but I have never had any problems with it until this last update of OS lock (Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.4, although I have returned to an earlier version recently to prevent locking without result).  I have 4 GB memory 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU graphics ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB.  Usually, I use Safari when this happens. It requires a restart of the hard to get it working again. I also have the Machine backup time, which I returned to an earlier version of the operating system at some point.  In general, the cursor still moves, but does not work no matter what windows or controls, that is why it requires the hard reboot.  The Mac reputation is on the line, since I told my friends of Windows that Mac will last at least a decade before they may need to be replaced, while Windows based computers need replacing every 5 years.  Is that what I can do perfectly well apart from the replacement of this computer?

  1. the present proceedings is a diagnostic test. It doesn't change anything for the better or worse and therefore, by itself, will not solve the problem. But with the help of the results of the tests, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.

  The test works on OS X 10.8 ("Mountain Lion") and later versions. I do not recommend running it on older versions of Mac OS X. It will do no harm, but it will not do not much good.

  Do not be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You make the tasks more complicated with the computer all the time.

  2. If you do not already have a current backup, please back up all the data before doing anything else.   If the test takes much longer that usual to run because the computer is very slow, you can be prompted for your password a second time. The permission you grant by entering it will expire automatically after five minutes.

  If you are not logged as an administrator, you will be prompted for a password. The test will run. It just will not do anything that requires administrator privileges.

  10. the test may take a few minutes to run, depending on the number of files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that is abnormally slow may take more time to run the test. During execution, a series of lines is displayed in the Terminal window like this:

      Test started

          Part 1 of 4 done at: … sec        …        Part 4 of 4 done at: … sec

      The test results are on the Clipboard.

      Please close this window.

  The intervals between the parties will not be exactly the same, but they give an approximate indication of progress.

  Wait for the final message "Please close this window" appear - again, usually within a few minutes. If you don't see this message in about 30 minutes, the test probably won't be completed within a reasonable time. In this case, press the Ctrl + C key combination or the point command to stop it. Then go to the next step. You will have incomplete results, but still something.

  In order to get results, the test should be allowed to perform or be stopped manually as shown above. If you close the window of the Terminal, while the test is still running, the partial results will not be saved.

  11. when the test is completed, or if you manually stopped, leaving the Terminal. The results have been saved to the Clipboard automatically. They do not appear in the Terminal window. Please do not copy from there. All you have to do is start a response to this comment and then paste it again by pressing Command-V.

  Especially anytime I boot vista and use firefox to load the first page of interest of any Flash Player on this page, the Computer freezes.

  My mouse to tail (on the screen) will have multiple pointers, showing that the action of the mouse on the screen's show and then suddenly stops leaving the mouse pointers of 4-5 spread on the screen.

  When I say freeze, I want to say keyboard does not work, no option to see taskmanager, possible extra mouse no movement, no keys work.

  I took the time that this has happened (looking clock screen) and returned with a search for the Explorer for the date and time to find all the files that had we created or modified during this time - nothing has changed - so the other question is how is it, nothing has changed when my HD was going ballistic (solid green light)?

  Since then I uninstalled FP in FF and removed my computer adobe.

  Reason is as mentioned above, a USB 2.0 external hard drive would be very slow and you would do much better with an external hard drive FireWire, USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt according to which ports are a your Mac Mini.
