Mac OS 10.7.5 to Officejet L7780 wireless connection

I have a mac running 10.7.5 (lion), I have connected my old printer Officejet Pro L7780 via my wireless network.

Used the CD that came with the printer and it was not compatible with the mac.

Went to HP site to download the driver (watched the video of how this was done) followed the same instructions and he recognized the network printer (everything what he L7700) but when trying to find the software, the error message was "no software found printers contact manufacturer.

Called HP who said I should contact Apple first contacted Apple and said, they do not have a driver for this printer but rather only have a list of generic driver "HP v.2.12 for OS X printer drivers.

I tried to start it and then try to add a printer now, the printer is not recognized.

Called HP and they said there will be a charge to talk to someone about a driver as I am off warranty and said I could join this forum where the question - can anyone help?

After spending 30 minutes with Apple Support, it's what worked:

Select Finder GO, computer, MAC HD, library, Printers, HP

Slide the HP folder on the desktop as a back up

Drag the HP folder in the Recycle Bin

Restart the Mac.

Make sure the HP printer connected via USB (not wireless)

Apple logo, updated software, choose the HP update (triggered by the fact that the cable is connected to the printer)

Installed the 1 point

Check that we could print with the wired connection for printer

Unplug the USB cable

System Pref, print and scan

(existing printer will appear in red or in offline mode)

Click Add (+)

There, in the list was the version the new printer wireless

Tested it works wireless

I have the experience of the network. For now I'll out of HP printers and have been a fan of them for many years, please help!

    Thanks in advance.

A static IP address is always a good idea for a printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you know what it is, set an IP address outside this range but not exceeding 254 (the last number of the address). If you don't know it, enter the current IP address.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the gateway and DNS white. Click on ' apply

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

The printer is always connected to the network?  Check by going to Configuration > network on the front of the printer and network Test search and print.

What router are you using? You've restarted it by pulling on the power cable?

  • HP officejet 6500 wireless with mac os 10.5.8

I recently bought a hp officejet 6500 wireless which is supposed to be supported by mac os 10.5.8 leopard.  everything works except the scanner.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers several times and still nothing.  I was on the phone with hp for 2 hours of testing support and try different scenarios.  I called apple and they say this isn't a problem of operating system.  I can scan using my IP address in a browser, but cannot scan from the printer.  Also, when I reinstalled the drivers from hp Web site, uninstall icon didn't come with it.  can anyone help?  This is the second HP printer that I bought that I had problems with and will be my last if I can't get this resolved.

We will clean all your system HP software and re-install:

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt, as well as Apple and click on uninstall
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled, this is why we do not run this thing all the time)
    Click on continue
    Let the cleaner it is.

Now, do a software update to make sure that the cleaner does not destroy all the important files.

Then, download and install the software for your printer.

    Welcome to the @Xuxa forums

I understand that you are unable to print on your Officejet 4500 Wireless since installing it on your new Mac running the Mavericks. I have some suggestions for you to try.

    Please try in order:

    1. Reset the printing system
    2. Repair disk permissions
    3. Restart the Mac.
    4. Follow this guide: install a printer Mac driver by using Apple Software Update

  • HP Officejet 4500 Wireless scanning

I have a HP Officejet 4500 Wireless and use the Mac OS X operating system 10.5.8,. When I scan photo they open in my preview software. How and where can I change the settings so that they open in Adobe Photoshop?

    Hello

Instead of scanning from the software, try scanning through your app (Adobe PS). The preview should then be given to you by the PS.

  • OfficeJet 4500 Wireless - MacBook it installs with USB, but can't find it on the network

Help! I just bought a new MacBook (OS 10.6.4) and try to use the HP Officejet 4500 Wireless with it. I bought the printer a month or two ago and it has been implemented on my wireless (a Netgear - WNR2000 router) and works very well with my old iBook G4 and the Windows PC at home. My new MacBook is connected to the fine of the Internet, but when I went to use the printer, it seems to install ok, make settings IP etc. of the printer on the network, but it's not far past. He says that the printer is "unreachable" or some such nonsense and refuses to see it on the network. I tried both with and without the CD installation, and after you have uninstalled the software HP to uninstall and reinstall in the system of preferences--> Print and Fax settings. But he only sees the printer if I connect it with USB, which goes against the reason for which I bought it.

I ran the software update and it has found a new version of the software to download to the printer when connected via USB. But there seems to be no way to convince him to find the printer on our network wireless

    Any ideas?

Wow - I solved the problem. How ridiculous of a solution is that?

I saw a mention on another Board need to have a SSID for the network of less than 6 characters/letters to get the Mac to work with some other printer/router configuration.

So I tried here - since I had a network SSID of 7 letters.

    (1) I went in my screen to config the router and changed my SSID to one that was only four letters. I also took the static IP address for the printer, I had just set up (so for those of you watching at home, ignore my comment on this tactic, it was a herring!) leave the settings as they were before I ate with it.

    (2) I then restarted the router, the computer and the printer.

    (3) I first put in place the new SSID on Mac (change the SSID of the router to the old password only left, so it was just a matter of returning the password on Mac, when it entered into the 'new' network). I checked this by seeing in screen config the router if the Netgear now he showed in his list of connected devices (it wasn't before, and I was suspicious that he was some other weird problem, if the Mac has used the Internet very well). He did it!

    (4) then I used the front panel of the printer to go into Options--> Menu Wireless--> Setup Wizard and configure the printer again on the new name of the network SSID. Then I went to the Options--> Print the report--> Config network. It would therefore be to print a page giving the State of the connection confirming that it was the network.

    (5) then I went back for the Mac and use it again the screen of the router config I confirmed that now the printer was also showing up on top of the screen of connected devices (it wasn't before, now she and Mac have been listed!). Then I opened system--> print and fax preferences and tried to add the printer again. This time he finds immediately on the network (using the so-called Hello?), and since I already had the software update (using the steps suggested above) that she already had the correct printer software to use. Wireless printing fine now... After all this noise.

So, apparently, PrintDoc, you need to add a small little by this spiel you gave me above - to install a printer wireless on a new Mac with a working wireless network (at least one with a Netgear WNR2000 router), the SSID of the network should really be only a couple of long letters (4A worked in this case but not 7). Why, I have no idea. Ridiculous, like I said.

    Thanks anyway.

I hope this discovery helps someone else too!
