  I have Satellite A series for the last two weeks, that my touch pad has stopped lighting upward. After looking into it, I can't find a driver for touchpad to set the touchpad settings. The mouse settings are there but no details of the touchpad. Unable to find all the files on it either.

  I tried to download a new driver for it but it still happened upward with an error that it cannot install a new driver. The touchpad works well, it does not and I have no way to fit it.
  Help, please. It drives me crazy. I had a few geek telling me it might be a hardware problem. Is this possible?

  I have a problem with one of my users.  On 40 employees perched at this place, it's the only happens.  It connects to a remote drive in another city, and we'll call it the T drive.  When we go to the T drive we see a long list of files.  At first she sees all files as well but sometimes he falls into a single folder on his screen.  This folder is a folder called Scans and inside this folder is a long list of employees at several sites.  When she opens this folder "T:\Scans" rather than see the long list, she can't see his name and files under it.  This seems to be a permissions problem, but if it stops and restarts the computer, everything is back to the way it should be.  This has been ongoing for some time and happens about once or twice a week.  The permissions would be set all the time and permissions on all of these files is 'Everyone', because these files must be available to all members of society.  There is another drive for secure files.

  I have a 1 TB drive on my 2011 27 IN IMAC.

  I have two user accounts on this imac.

  I would like to COPY my entire disk to a new 5 TB EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE that I just bought. The idea is to restore my imac to factory settings, but when I restore I want to start over, as not having only not all my previous files. However, I would like to be able to access my previous files by opening the MAC HD on my new drive and choose what I want to copy or I want to use.

  What I plan to do is drag my MAC HD and copy on my external hard drive. I'm assuming this way I'll be able to access my files as if I had copied to another folder.

  I have two questions:

  (1) this actually work? I'll be able to click on my mac hd in my new drive, go to videos and choose what I want to see/copy?

  (2) I have two user accounts on this imac. What happens to the files on these accounts? I'll be able to access it without problem? Or what is the best way to handle this? One of the accounts is my personal account and I use one for the related things work.

  Locate in iCloud drive in your Finder, drag to where you want to save them on your Mac, confirm, you want to move them when the Finder prompts.

  Goal is to make the large library of songs on Server 2003 available for play on the Onkyo HT-RC180.

  Using WMP11 on XP SP3 as a mechanism of source.  On the second machine I have Server2003 with collection of songs.  Can add pieces of server to WMP11 library on the XP machine, do appear in the library list and read.  Can also see and play the songs pasted on the source XP machine.  So far so good.

  Have a laptop with Win7 and WMP12.  I grant him access in WMP11 can I access the libraries of the XP machine and play songs I can see from this library using laptop, but only those songs stuck on XP (not those of the server) machine appear on the laptop and can be played there.  Same problem to access the library of machine XP Onkyo HT - RC180.

  Change the permissions on the files on the server to match those of XP machine, including inheritance and the NETWORK SERVICE, does not solve the problem.

  On the XP machine, change the capture of rip to a server folder, and then to rip a CD on the server does not have the ripped files to be seen or played on a remote drive, although they can be seen and read on the XP machine.

  In Windows 7 Enterprise, I would like to point out that, if you map \\server1\share1 as drive letter X using "user1" and "password1", then try to map \\server1\share2 (a different share) as drive letter Y using the same ID "User1" and "password1" and you select 'connect using different credentials' in the dialog box connect a network drive and specify the id "User1" and "password1". you will get this error MESSAGE INCORRECT that says 'the specified network folder is currently mapped using a different user name and password'.

  The message is bad because:

  1. the specified network (action2 in my example) folder is not mapped at all, and

  2. the server (in my example, "server1") is already mapped (to a different and different drive letter share) using the SAME user name and password.

  The error message is wrong in two respects.

  This let me puzzled for a while until I realized that once you have mapped to 'Server1' using the credentials, you can map to different actions on the same server without re - specify the credentials.  It is NOT CLEARLY the 'Map network drives' dialog box, which leads to users (like me, and I'm a programmer by trade) trying to enter credentials again and this incorrect error message.

  My advice to you is to completely uninstall bittorrent & all torrent Downloader. I had this problem once and permantely CRASHED my computer download of torrent files. I don't do this more...
