Machine starts beeping and stops...

My friend just put a Corsair 850 watt power supply in his P6404y machine and tried to stock update the 9100 Nvidia graphics card to an Nvidia GTX 460 and the machine would be fine, however when he tried to play games the machine would beep and closed which is usually a symptom of a GPU overheat condition.  He then returned the GTX460 and upgraded to a PNY GTX 470 thinking his first card was a supplier without a name and the same problem occurs.   He then put a big fan next to his computer with the side and if the machine starts to beep it makes and may continue to operate, but I told him that option is not recommended.   There is nothing in the Bios to see what the parameters are for the monitoring of heat on a GPU and there is no newspaper generated indicating what the cause of the stop is.   We looked online for help and there is none available for mother Pegatron m2n78 - made by Asus for HP.   Is there a software that allows to monitor and change settings for the beaches of heat on a GPU, or y at - it another way to identify which monitors the machine for the heat so we can try to solve this problem.   The bios options are very limited and we are really stuck on this one.   Help, please!   Thank you

Chuck

OK, we believe that we have solved the problem!   Even with the upgrade of the energy supply, the issue seems to be with the current Nvidia cards.   Under site Web CPUReview, they show the max of each graphics chip power draw.   Looks like the Nvidia GTX 460 drew 160 watts and the next card, we tried the Nvidia GTX 470 drew 170 watts maximum.    We tried and tried and failed to get the system working.    Now, a few months later, we were given another chance and used a card Geforce 9700 GS PCI-E and it works beautifully.   The card has not been fast enough, but he had only a maximum current of 82 watts.   Makes us think it was the fact that the GS 9700 uses DDR3 and recent Nvidia cards use DDR5, but after checking, we found that had nothing to do with the problem.   Then plunges us into the issue of tension and grabbed a new ATI Radeon HD 5450, who also ran fine and has a maximum circulation of power of 20 watts.   The map was underpowered for 3D graphics, so we then made a leap up to an ATI Radeon HD 6770 and again once it has worked very well to 108 watts.   Do not forget that we were back all our previous equipment, but we got a Thermaltake 500 watt power supply available, so we had already put in the machine that we thought that the stock of 300 watt power supply was a nameless, low power unit.   So far, he played several games at speed without any problems.   Our last thought is that the Pegatron m2n78 - the motherboard don't like prints of the power of the latest Nvidia cards.    I hope that helps you people!  Wooohoo! OK, it's game time!

  • Satellite C660 - 2d 7 continuous fan start-up and stop - is this normal?

Hello! I have a 'newbie' question, if anyone can help, I would be very grateful :)

I got a refurbished c660 - 2d 7 Currys yesterday and the fan will continue turning and stopping. Usually too much worry (it's not particularly strong or whatever it is), but as it's a refurb. and I don't know what he was returned for before, I want to make sure it's healthy! It does not warm at all, it is stone-cold to the touch and I don't do anything too tender (a couple of tabs open in google chrome and sometimes a solitaire game), but maybe that's not hot because the fan does its job, hehe! It gives a little quiet snoring then stops every few minutes, what is normal and OK?

This is my first time owning a computer windows laptop and from what I've seen other people, the fan is usually noisy or not altogether (will not compare to the MacBook since they like mini cookers and little need to operate the fan at the maximum all the time), so I wondered if he was trying to start the fan/fans maximum and default? Is there a utility on it anywhere which will check if the fans are okay? (It came with many Toshiba apps, they have not checked this yet).

If this is normal, and they do that, that's fine, I just want to fix it as soon as possible if she is sick or must replace fan/fans. Thanks for any advice you can give!

Edit: Also the hard disk is divided into two equal partitions, is it possible to cancel this easily? It seems unnecessary to have shared it this way when he uses only 8 GB for data recovery!

    Hello

Yes, it's nothing unusual, that the fan continues to go if a certain level of temperature was approached.
Alternatively, you can control this behavior a little fan.

You can change the power of Win 7 to friendly State management settings battery.
In this case the CPU wouldn't create too much heat, and cooling modules would not go too often.

  • MacBook Pro 2010 beeps and stop.

Hello everyone. My old 2010 MacBook page several times during normal use (not during start-up) in cycles of three, then stops and restarts. I did a number of tests including reset PRAM, MSC, reinstall the OS, exchanging the HD with the SSD, removal of RAM in time banks, using only discreet GPU and only the integrated. The beeps continue to occur.

The only thing I can think of right now is overheating. The MacBook gets really hot and I already bought some thermal paste to replace the old one on the CPU and the GPU, but as far as I know, these beeps are not related to overheating problems. Guys have never experienced something like this? Because I don't really want to throw too much money on this old laptop.

    Thank you everyone!

I recently bought an Acer TimelineU M5 - 481 T-6642 14 inch Ultrabook.  During startup and shutdown, there is the CD/DVD tray noise as if the status bar is trying to open. I did not a CD or a DVD in the tray again.  How can I stop this sound action, annoying in my new ultrabook?  Thank you.

Mine makes no noise noticeable at startup or another so I would get the extract.

  • laptop starts momentarily and stops

I've had my laptop for a while now, and last night he stop nowhere and refused to turn back even after a reset. (button down for 30 seconds without battery). My brother has the same model and its battery no longer works, but if it holds its charger is plugged, it works. My friends, will not, and the level of the battery before it stops the first time was at 100%. Buy a new battery or the charger will fix this problem? Or the fault lies in my laptop?

Apparently it's a battery problem; When I removed the battery and ran only from the charger, it is back to normal.  I guess I'll just get a new battery.

  • DAQmx: set up a digital acquisition continues with start and stop trigger

    Hi all

I write because I can not find a solution to my problem.

As written in the title, I just want to do an continuous (continuous sampling) a digital line. The fact that it's a digital line instead of an analog is no big deal, I guess. I want to start the acquisition on a rising edge of digital trigger (PFI0 for example) and stop acquisition on a trigger too (forehead down on the same signal (PFI0 even then) or a new front amount). This way I could precisely control the time of acquisition or of the start or stop other devices.

Since this is a digital acquisition, you need to do first "something": create a fictitious analog input task and get the clock back to the digital input. I setting this analogue of the task to start on a trigger. It works but I can't find a way to stop it on another trigger.

Do u hav no idea how to implement it?

Finally I have not found an easy way to break cautiously the VI to wait for a trigger (in case you want to start an acquisition with different settings for example). Do you use the task to Abort or is it better to set a deadline to playback digital channel VI until the outbreak occurs?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

Config: LV 2010, latest version Daqmx and USB card or 6251.

    Hi Chris,

One way is to use counters as Kevin described. For me, it's usually easier to create the dummy task that has the timing engine (as I HAVE), but it depends on what resource you have on your board you will not need .

In fact, the example is the same thing that you need to measure continues - just what you need to do is remove the counter part and replace the trigger reference to be external (your stop trigger).

with this approach, you should be able to do the continuous measurement - I noticed that you need DI - in fact with few changes you should be able to use this example. DI does not have its own timing engine, that's why you should use the external sample clock. If we use the example to create dummy HAVE to provide the sample clock, and we start DI task until we start to HAVE fake, then we can get pretty much continuous clock which begins start trigger and stop the trigger of reference.

Take a look in the change - once again, I have not tested, but logic seems to be OK.

    with sincere friendships.

  • Creating a rule entry time custom to read the start time and the stop as entry time

    Hello world

I hope this is the right forum to post this question.
We are putting in place the time and work package, and we need to write a few rules of the time for this entry.

The first of them is to have a rule that validates the start time and the stop time has entered the entry-level feature Self Service scorecard.
So, I created a formula to achieve this objective. This formula eventually calls a PL/SQL function that checks for card points, the Start and Stop time values stored in the database.

However, this is not what I intend to achieve. What I have to do is to get the value of time as she walked and apply the Validation

    This expansion in a scenario:

    1. the employee connects via the Self Service and access the timesheet feature to make a time entry
    2. on August 20, he entered 13:00 as the start time and stop time 20:00
    3. click on the button

When he clicks on the button Save, (assume 20:00 is an incorrect time), an error message should be displayed to the user informing him of this

    ----------------
Now, I have to spend the early hour 13:00 and the 20:00 in the formula stop time so that I can post it.
This is where I run on issues that I don't know how to get these start and stop within the formula time

Grateful if someone could help with this.
It's quite urgent given the lead times for completion on that.

    Thks in advance folks
    Ravi

    l_timecard_info: = hxc_self_service_time_deposit.get_building_blocks;
    l_building_block_attr_info: = hxc_self_service_time_deposit.get_block_attributes;

However, I do not understand this:
If there are no parameters that are passed to these calls, then how the correct score card to be recognizable? I'm assuming that there is something like a Timecard_Id or setting Timecard_Ovn that allows to identify the correct sheet when reading this info.

Pls advise me on this point, because I'm just not understand this bit.

You do not need to pass all parameters. The overall picture of pl/sql is filled for the session before the rule of time entry. If you want to restrict, the formula will be an id_ressource of entry which is an employee self-service Person_Id. and compare this value against id_ressource in l_timecard_info.resource_id

If this isn't an inconvenience for you, I want to understand how these function calls to keep the start time and stop time, and to access these variables, I would need to loop as a table through?

The l_time_card_info of pl/sql table is filled exactly the same as how is stored in HXC_TIME_BUILDING_BLOCKS when save is saved / submitted. It's just that the pl/sql is here filled.

  • How to start and stop the video capture in a state machine

    Hello

I am a student of neuroscience and this is what I try to do: 1) trigger a camera to GigE (200 FPS), 2) start the video capture, 3) triggers a light that stays on for x milliseconds, 4) trigger a valve that will blow an air puff, 5) stop the tone and the valve at the same time and 5) stop the video capture 1 second after 4). For this, my VI is a state machine, with a State for each trigger (ex, 1 State for trigger camera 1 State of light of trigger, ect) and a statement to "stop" and a "time-out State." Everything worked except the video acquisition - the program could trigger the camera but only acquire a frame, because it was not running in a while loop and this is my first question: for an acquisition video is it always necessary to have a while loop?
I guess the answer is Yes, so I built a loop of 'consumer' for the camera. A queue of the pre-trial 'trigger camera' in the loop of producer, I was then able to start the video capture, but now the problem is to stop it at the right time. I have an another queue in the State of 'stop' in the loop of the producer, but is not able to start the State 'stop' in the loop of consumer, I think that maybe it's because the loop of consumer gets "stuck" in the whole loop.

I hope you can help me, the VI is attached. Thank you!

    Hello

First of all, in your loop producer: STATE 'Stop', you use the flushing line, then there is no need to use 'item queue at the opposite end. You can use the enqueue function.

Secondly, you said "I moved the command stop inside the while loop as you said, but it did not work. But if you look closely, you moved "Enqueue function" inside the while loop. Instead you should use Dequeue function. Please, look at the picture I posted an orderly manner.

And remove the circled (i.e. function. Enqueue function loop of consumption, where I wrote 'Why stop here').

    Try now.

  • Start and stop Virtual Machines with the system

    Hello

In a server cluster @vcenter HA/DRS 5.1, I enabled start and stop virtual machines with the system option but after I checked two days later, he is off again somehow. What makes this option off? I had a power failure in the datacenter. vCenter server has not been upward. I started all of the ESXi servers manually then went all VMs account is declining. I want that they start automatically when server ESXi upward.

    Thanks in advance,

Thank you. This option is more valid than if the hosts are part of an HA Cluster license. I suspect that you configured through the traditional vSphere Client and that it is a bug with this client. If you try with the new vSphere Web Client, you will find a notice that it is disabled and there is no button "Edit".

  • Free version of ESXi can support for configuration of start and stop virtual machines via vSphere Client?

I have read and found some documents on ESXi.

According to the documents, I know that ESXi free version does not support some advanced virtual machine configurations and does not support write to ESXi host permission. But when I download ESXi from vmware.com, I can't find the free version. He will always be a trial of the licensed version edition because I can always do the configuration of start and stop virtual machines via vSphere Client installation. I can also run scripts (lamw) pl in vMA to stop the ESXi host (authorization to write ok?)

Then I confused. How can I get the really free version of ESXi? Or will the free version after 60 days of evaluation?

Start/stop above configuration is in vSphere Client via 'Configuration'-> "start/stop VM"-> "Properties"... «-> "Allow the virtual computers start and stop automatically with the system" actions setting and stop virtual machines can be configured to "comments"turn off computer"or"Suspend".» Can any body tell me if it's supported by ESXi free edition?

Is the free version of vSphere Client too? Because when I use the vSphere Client, he told me that I have 60 days of evaluation. This confused me again. I think that vSphere Client is always free, am I right?

Any suggestion or advice is much appreciated.  _

    Micky

Configuration of start and stop virtual machines is available with the free version and licensed, with the free version you would be configured everything via vSphere Client, where as with a licensed version, you can optionally use scripts to configure it and also issue restarts/stops using scripts.

Second, shutdownHostViaSOAPAPICall.pl for the version licensed and free of ESX (i), this script will work in both free and licensed because it uses direct SOAP calls emulating the vSphere Client communication. Take a look at the documentation for details, but this of course is not supported by VMware.

  • Desktop HP Pavilion h8-1150z: desktop HP Pavilion h8-1150z - 6 beeps and no start

My Home Office HP Pavilion (Pav HP h8-1150z AMD (Angelica) 3 c NAPC) is about 3 and a half years (and apparently 6 months past my HP Care Pack coverage extension).   It runs Windows 7.  Yesterday while the computer was not idle, he began to make a new sound of snoring (a bit like a fan noise).  So I stopped the machine.

Now, when you try to restart, it gives 6 beeps and goes no further.  It's always a little strange noise of snoring.  After my research, it looks like it's some pre video failure.

I tried to remove the graphics card and re-sitting there.  While I had the video card, I tried to restart.  The sound of snoring had gone, but still have the 6 beeps.  While the Office has been opened, I also reinstall memory and blew out the dust.  Still no luck.

I've seen a few suggestions to clear CMOS but don't know what I would need to do it with this machine.  I unplug the machine and press down the power button for several seconds to erase any residual power.

Any suggestions/recommendations?  If it looks like my graphics card has gone bad, any suggestions on how to buy a compatible replacement?

    Thank you.

    old_geekster,

I talked to Support PNY and they agreed that the graphics card, I bought should be compatible but does not appear (maybe because I was running an old version of the bios on the HP computer, but I found myself stuck in being not able to update).

So I ended up finding another graphics card (EVGA GeForce 8400 GS 1 GB DDR3 PCIe 2.0 graphics card 16 x) and that did the trick!  Once I have installed the new card I was back running.

Thank you once again for all the help you have provided me and your community support!
