Macromedia MX2004 & Vista on Satellite L40

Hi I do not know really where to put this so thought Id issue ' start here...

I recently tried to move Dreamweaver in front of my old monster from Windows XP (running MX2004) to my new beautiful L40 - 15 running Windows Vista - first you try to run MX2004, but after struggling with bugs upgrade to Adobe CS3

My problem is that I have set up the ftp section in CS3 and can get on my pages, but for some reason any my style sheet is not available, all images, formatting and text are available, but when I try to access the style sheet I get an access denied error message

The style sheet is still there and works correctly, because the page is very well online and I can always access the style sheet Windows XP using MX2004, I can't access using Vista

Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry Andrew, but I don't see any link between the described issue and Toshiba laptops. Maybe you need to contact Macromedia support.

A year that I have Satellite L40 for this year only one problem.

Who has guessed to low machine Vista I have a configuration of equipment, I see that it is calculated on XP System I reorganize once a week in talk, all goes well with the iron. Probably to reorganize Win XP on mine?

Upon receipt of the update, I can't load system, only black screen. I am very satisfied with your product and support. We won't have the data that appear on your site.
Letters unanswered. A bad product with poor support.

    Hello

I read your ad three times and I still didn't understand what you mean. If you're ready to write discussion please a bit more of your reviews. To be honest I didn t understand what data on the Toshiba site, you mean. You wrote about the specification of the laptop?

A friend of mine has Satellite L40 too and it works well. The fact is that Toshiba offers several models of different laptops with different hardware specifications. When compare you them in the store the first thing you see is the price. So, if you compare L40 Satellite and Satellite A300, you will see the difference.
It is logical that a notebook of budget with basic configuration that your L40, do not have the same hardware as a laptop that costs more than 400 euros.
L40 with this basic hardware platform can be used with Vista, but you can not expect some fabulous performances. What you need is RAM upgrade and configuration of the operating system right and you will see the difference.

Older L10 and L20 were also not laptops more faster with Windows XP Home edition. Two of them were also provided with the minimum of RAM but acceptable for Windows XP Home edition.

So if you want to discuss a little more on your laptop, please let us know what problems you have. Maybe we can help and see what you can do to make it better.

    Good luck!

  • Performance issues with Vista on Satellite L40 - 14N

I just signed up to your forum, it's really nice, how it works.
I bought 3 months ago, a satellite L40-14N, with Vista Home Premium pre-installed, but I'm starting to get tired of the delays.
I also have a problem, always Walker I want to open some windows, such as control panel or my computer and all my icons on the desktop disappear after some time will be displayed again, but not the application open before (Panel configuration or my computer).

I wanted to ask all of you, what may be the problem, in fact I think to get rid of Vista and install XP, do you think it would be a good idea?
If so, what kind of xp (sp2, sp3, etc.)? And, what I would have in return when I install xp, as what drivers need me for my laptop works properly again?

Thank you very much... good day

    Hello

He knows that the Vista operating system is in need of more resources as a Microsoft OS at the beginning of s.
I have a Vista on the L30 and I get a really slow performance.
In addition many services and processes running in the background of the operating system. It also decreases performance.
But all background processes are needed if you want to use all the features of notebooks such as the FN keys or buttons to Toshiba for example.

However, I've installed XP on the L30 without any additional driver for the FN keys, control buttons etc and it was amazing to see how fast the laptop can be.

So generally it s not a bad idea to install XP on the L40.
But note; If you want to install XP on the L40 you must install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager first. Without this driver SATA XP does not recognize the HARD drive.

    Hello

  • Problem installation Vista on Satellite L40

    Hello!

I have install Vista on my L40 - 14F, and after the last step of the installation, the screen goes black for about a minute or two, then it restarts and it gets stuck in the loading screen.

(I think that it maybe my DVD which may be corrupted or something, but not 100% sure, cause I used this same DVD to install vista on my desktop which has been a success)

I did a BIOS update. So, I want to ask if it was possible to make an update of the BIOS for Vista under Win XP (I have reinstall Win XP now). And if I have updated to Vista I have reinstall Win XP?

    Thank you!

    Hello

It is not so good... you had to install the Vista BIOS first. So in this case, you must reinstall XP, it will work. But if you want to install Vista, you need to upgrade/downgrade to a BIOS compatible Vista (the latest version should be V2.30).

    That's all; still have questions?

  • Problem NTLDR Vista on Satellite L40

I have a new laptop of L40 series.
Start today to get "NTLDR is missing - Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete" - I thought that panoramas did not use NTLDR - how can I fix this?

    Rob3790

    Hi mate,

I ve found an interesting site on this problem NTLDR, the guy from this site, created a really cool tool that solves your problem (or should set at least a 'probably')

    http://tinyempire.com/notes/ntldrismissing.htm

If I were you I would back up my data regularly on an external media, because if you did something like you would just now recover your machine and copy your entire data to the system.

    Welcome and have fun ;)

  • Satellite L40: Can I use Toshiba DVD to install Vista on a new HARD drive

    Hi people,

I'm new to this forum... I don't know that there, can someone advise me.
I replace my Satellite L40 HDD with a bigger drive, the current is only 80Gig.

And my question is, can I use my Toshiba recovery Disc to reinstall Vista on the new HARD drive, or is it a hidden partition on the original HARD drive?
If someone has done this, would appreciate an idiots guide to doing the same thing.

    Cheerzzzzzzzzzzz...

    Dave

Of course you can do it.
The DVD of Vista recovery Toshiba help you install Vista, all the drivers Toshiba and tools, and it automatically creates all the partitions.

So what you have to do is to boot from the recovery DVD and follow the instructions on-screen ;)

    Check it out!

  • Satellite L40: Windows Vista unable to connect to the network

My Satellite L40 laptop was connecting to my network wireless perfectly since Christmas. But two days ago, it stopped! I can see the networks available on the laptop but when I try to connect I get the message "Windows cannot connect to the network. Following the link to "Diagnose the problem" has no useful effect.
I installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 yesterday to try to solve the problem, but always without success.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Select this option.

    Hello

Please go to the drivers Toshiba download page and download the latest Wlan driver for your wireless card installed, then remove the old driver and install a new one. It should work.

Otherwise, you should try to recover your entire system and replace the drivers installed by some more recent...

  • Audio device is not detected on Satellite L40 with Vista

I buy the Toshiba Satellite L40 with Microsoft Vista Home. Some reasons for work, I removed Vista and installed Windows XP.

After this audio device action is not detected. I tried to find the driver on the web, but without success. Can you help me in this situation?

I checked Toshiba's support page and drivers of Windows XP Home edition are not available at the moment. I hope it will happen soon. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to identify a sound card on your Satellite L40.

You may be lucky and someone will give you a useful tip.

  • Cannot start XP installation on Vista Home Premium preinstalled Satellite L40-139

    Here's the problem:

I bought a new Toshiba Satellite L40-139 in Austria and comes preinstalled Vista. OK, Vista is in German, and I don't know German. But I made a choice to learn German and to start using a Vista. After a month Vista drives me crazy (no language, just for Vista) and I want to just install XP. I didn't need something more.
I spent more then five days trying to archive this, but without success and I am disappointed, much.

I put aside all types of teaching and I did a lot of things, but none of them helped me.
So the problem is like this:
I made the partition for XP, so I have two partitions as: Vista (C), (D) XP and Datas (G) and my CD/DVD (E :).
I activated just boot from the CD/DVD, but when I insert the CD and start the installation of Vista it tells me something like this:
Press any key to boot from CD...
When I do that, I get a message, which is very fast where it says something like that, (I'm not quiet sure what it says because it's fast):
    Checking your configuration...
After that, nothing happens, don't know why, I just get black monitor and CD/DVD does not work anymore?

It's driving crazy me and I can't install XP.
It seems that does not recognize the CD/DVD, and I tried with several XP bootable CD/s and they work on my desk.

Can someone help, please, because I'm going crazy?

If you have installed XP on this notebook L40 Vista you need a BIOS update to the XP version. All that s

  • Re: Satellite L40 PSL48E: can I create a partition Vista installation disc

    Hello

My Satellite L40 PSL48E came with a Vista recovery partition.
As I despise Vista I bought a replacement drive and installed a new hard drive and installed XP pro.
I retained the original drive in case I've never had a claim under warranty.

Now, I find that, because of work, commitments, I occsionally use the despised Vista trash and wonder if it is possible to create a partition on the original disc installation disc so tha ti can create a system dual boot on my new drive.

I am very reluctant to BUY a new Vista CD, since I already have a perfectly legal copy on a disk, which I am not using and I'll use it only rarely for this commitment to work.

    Any information received with gratitude

    Thank you Ron

Hmm. If you have a HARD drive recovery option, then a complete image has been placed on the HARD drive and generally all cell phones with HARD drive recovery option is supported by a tool called TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator Toshiba.

With this tool, you can create a Vista recovery DVD If the OS Vista, have been damaged, you can also try to start the computer by pressing the F8 key.
This would allow an advanced boot menu.
Here you must choose repair computer

But note; This option is available only on laptops with HDD Recovery

    See you soon

  • Satellite L40 with no Wi - Fi after Vista update

    Hey there,
I have a Toshiba Satellite L40-137 and installed Service Pack 1 for Vista.
And now my WLan/Wifi is just disabled with no information which driver I need or something...

Well, it seems that this is a common problem, because I googled a lot of questions similar but found no adequate response.

    A few facts:
    (1) the small lamp at the bottom of the keyboard does not work
    (2) the physician connectivity tells me just for wifi is 'disabled '.
    (3) absolute nothing fn + f8

In case you got no work around, I would be very grateful! :)

    Thank you very much
    Heiko
