Mail attachment

When attempting to open an attachment in Mail, I get this: "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set Associations control panel.  There is no sign of all Associations, but I found where to change the associations. However, the type attached to the attachment (EasyShare.tif) is already running and well as tiff.  I spent hours trying to find it and try to get help.  Anyone here?

I don't know why it wouldn't save as much as you saved the images, but if she has a tiff or tif file extension, then go to control panel | Default programs | Associate a type of file or Protocol with a program and then find the tif and tiff file types and then designate whatever program you use to open them.

  • How can I print an e-mail attachment?

I can't print the attachment of an e-mail. I just get the e-mail list is attached, even if the attachment is opened.

You need to work with all attachments with the software created in the attachment or who can open it.
For example you open an attachment in MS Word or Open Office .doc and print was from there.
Thunderbird offers just the attachment. You need appropriate software to open and work with it.
What type of piece attached you ask?

  • images in outlook e-mail attachment

I have problems attaching photos to Outlook e-mail messages. My previous PC used XP and it's simple, click on join in the Outlook e-mail message and choose a photo in my pictures from My Documents. (Otherwise I could right click on any photo and select attach to e-mail) Now my HP touchscreen using Vista and the pictures are stored in the Windows Photo Gallery, but seem not to be accessible through My Documents (the only way I found location and storage of photos is via the Windows icon that takes me to the photo gallery). I can't work on how to locate the photos to attach if I click on join in an Outlook e-mail message. I tried to go to Windows Photo Gallery, select the picture and then clicking on E-mail and then attach as suggested in Help and support, but even if screens seem nothing happens and no electronic message. I would really appreciate if anyone can help!

  • Windows mail attachment problem-don't see attachment sign on the preview pane

In my windows mail, I see attachment sign on the preview pane, so whenever I have need to double click that mail and open the attachment. Pls Guide.

It is a known problem if you installed IE9.  There is no solution.  You can either uninstall IE9, or you can continue to open the mail in a separate window to save attachments.  Moreover, with IE9 installed, the default font specified under Tools | Options | Read is no longer accepted and if you want to change the default font, you must change it in IE via Tools | Options | Fonts and then set the font here.

  • Windows Vista Mail Attachment View

I use windows vista mail. 1 month before I install Kespersky antivirus license yesterday I scan my pc with a full sweep. After that, I had problem in windows mail. When I get e-mail with an attachment so I don't see the button of an email attachment to the right where we can click and open or save and save everything that I do not see this button. Although if I open the mail so I can see the attachment but on the General view, I do not see and when the fixation button would exist, the police of this place is larger now. Please help me I have the Image of this problem but I think that there is no image attachment allowed. Please seniors help me as soon as posible.

    Hi Prince Kashi,

One of the reasons is perhaps with security software, which sometimes creates a conflict. Because you installed Kaspersky recently, you can try to disable it and other non-Microsoft firewalls present on your system and try to check if the problem occurs. If this resolves the problem, then you may need to change the settings of Kaspersky or reinstall it and check.

Note: On disabling antivirus and firewall, virus or malware can get into the system. After this troubleshooting step, select the security software.

You can view the following link to Disable Antivirus programs:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

    Hope this information is helful.

  • Unable to open or save files from Windows Mail attached.

    My problem:

Windows Mail on a new Vista system (for me)... I had been using Outlook Express and miss me him now three feaures: compose of 1) ability to open and save attachments, 2) semi-automatic recipient and copy 3) invisible on screen. Feature missing #1 is a showstoper.

Another option would be to use a website based email system, I guess.

    ---------------------------------------from Q&A screens------------------------------

Windows Mail blocks certain types of file attachments that are commonly used to spread e-mail viruses, such as files with the following file name extensions: .exe, .pif and .scr files. IfWindows Mail blocks an attachment in an e-mail message, the information bar displays a message letting you know he did and list the attachment that has been blocked.

I know that I need programs such as Word files .doc to open .doc attachments, but above characters fat not yet past.

Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Mail.

Click on the Tools menu and then click Options.

Click the Security tab, clear the do not allow attachments to the opening or recording that could potentially be a virus check box, and then click OK.

The above could not solve the problem.

    So. I'm stuck.

1: you get the message that Windows has blocked access to the attachment, or it does not work? All file extensions or part?

2: tools | Options | Send. The corresponding checkbox is checked? Note that only 29 addresses are remembered. See for more information.

3: CCI works exactly as in OE.

    • To use the functionality of the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy), in a new message window, click View | All headers and type the addresses separated by a; Or: Click the button to. You will see your list of contacts and the choice to put them in the To, CC, or BCC field. Click on an address, and then click BCC to add it. Repeat for all of the contacts you want. (Note: most of the providers have limits as to how many messages you can send both a. 25 is common, but it varies).
    • Put your own address in the box to. That's the only name/address that any recipient will see. If you leave the field empty, some people may not receive e-mail because of message rules they put in place, or restrictions imposed by their ISP.
    • You can also make an entry in the address book using your e-mail address, but put something like the mailing list in the area of the display.

  • photos of e-mail attachment. How to set a binding file to this attachment.

My sister, who lives in a hundred miles of me sent me a lot of e-mail with an attachment.  When I try to open the file, I get a message that the file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action, create an association in the set Associations control panel.  I am 63 years old and not computer savvy.  Could someone help me please. Thank you; BEWILDEREDME.

    Hi Bewilderedme,

Welcome to the responses of the Forums.  I'll see if I can help you.

First of all, let's make sure that you can see the file type.   Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / View and scroll through the list and check box or the button to view the hidden files, only show system files and clear one to hide spot known file types.  Click OK and close.

Now let's check the attachment.  What is the file type?  It's the three-digit extension that follows the name of the file and the point (such as .doc or .jpg or something like that).

Now, go to start / Default programs / associate a file or Protocol with a program / and scroll down the list until you find this extension.  Double-click it to open it and see if there is a default program.   T it?  If not (or if it does not appear) then you don't have a program installed on your system to read this type of file (this is why you can't do).  If you post here the file type, I'll try to find one free to sit.  If she does have a default program, click on the default options of the program and see if there is that of the alternatives listed that you can try instead - try them.  If this does not work, validate the options it lists as well as the file type in your response.  What e-mail program you are using (name and version)?

I hope this helps.  Post back with answers to my questions if it does not solve the problem.

    Hi pdkbingo,

It is more than likely that your email account which is at fault and not on your PC. It is quite easy to 'spoof' an email so it seems that if it came from your email address when, in reality, it comes from someone else. I suggest change you your email provider, so changing your email address. If you are using groups of public discussion, facebook, twitter "are not" visualize your email address. Unscrupulous people help software 'bots' trawl newsgroups etc. for email addresses. It's a way to get loads of spam. If you post an email address in a newsgroup etc. then type something like * address email is removed from the privacy *. Of course, you will need to enter your 'real' email address when registering for the discussion groups, facebook, twitter etc but if your email address is not visible there cannot be "hijacked" as you say.
