Mail cannot connect to iCloud/Yahoo

Hi all, as I've had this problem of messaging with El Capitan, I was hoping that after the installation of Sierra it would be fixed, unfortunately not. So I deleted Internet all accounts, shutdown and restarted. I started the Mail and selected Yahoo e-mail accounts and continued from there, hoping that all the necessary parameters would be loaded automatically. Mail has expired. So I ran connection doctor and the journal suggests the Yahoo SMTP connection was successful, Yahoo IMAP failed with the message to check the preferences of account/SSL etc.

So I restarted Mail and selected iCloud mail accounts and Mail has expired again. Logs show the SMTP and IMAP for iCloud failed for the same reasons as Yahoo, but I have no problem with an account by logging in from Safari.

When I go to "Edit" the two iC; Oud and Yahoo accounts/server settings and select "Edit SMTP servers list", there is nothing to select/list. If anyone has any ideas or solutions on how to operate the Mail it would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's not the solution to your problem, but there's a quirk with yahoo and desktop e-mail clients explained here:

connection http://support.Context.IO/hc/en-US/Articles/212087606-Yahoo-s-less-Secure-app-se

From what I understand, it's more about Yahoo is trying to force the use of its iOS applications and web portal rather than really relaxed security. I have no problem setting up a yahoo mail account after you make this change.

  • The Mac cannot connect to iCloud

I get a message, the Mac cannot connect to iCloud due to a problem with *.  This is my Apple ID, and I cannot go into Apple.  This happened after I had the mini for Mac guys and the guy deleted stuff in the keychain.  This message constantly comes back again and again even after I said 'later '.  In addition, since I had the machine for the MacGuys, a "Facebook password required" notice appears again and again.  As soon as I selected 'close', he is back in a few seconds.  I can use Facebook very well.  How can I get rid of these popups?

< personal information deleted, re-titled by host >

First of all try to access to the keychain via Finder > Applications > utilities > Keychain Aces and connection and re-enter the passwords for problem applications.

If this does not work, you will need to reset the keychain and re-enter all the password.

    I'm your pain ptapp!

Through my research for an answer that solves this problem, I have found that not even Apple knows how to solve this problem of password to iCloud.

All 4 of my devices constantly ask my password because of some problems with xyz account.

Then I enter the password only to be told that iCloud cannot check my password.

Then after several repetitions of this I get locked and have to go to the site apple id to change my password.

I didn't spend $6 000 on these beautiful devices so I could spend countless hours dealing with support (with no positive result) and find themselves just beyond myself in frustration. I have a Mac Pro, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones and an iPod touch. All are behaving this way, no matter what it is I'm doing at the time.

Apple needs to fix this problem, if they have any idea how to.

  • The Mac cannot connect to iCloud extremely disturbing and annoying pop up

I get this pop up and I can't fix it:

Two buttons - Later and iCloud preferences...

If I click later, he reappeared in the minute, sometimes a second later. It is a big problem because the functionality of the command does not work. He also grabs focus, no matter what I do - I watch full-screen movies, writing in a web form, play games, out of a keynote with a client presentation. Very, very frustrating. Not the kind of behavior I've seen in Windows 2000

If I click Cancel the previous password box returns "an unknown error has occurred." The problem goes away, but I have the original pop up within minutes.

If I click on Reset to Defaults, I get a very scary message:

Two buttons - Undo and Redo

Cancel takes me to the first problem, regular and extremely annoying and disruptive noise upwards.

Reset is not an option! I have an ecosystem whole apple, phone, office, laptop and iPad. I need to fix my keychain but don't know what's wrong with it or how to fix it. I can open Keychain Access. I don't know if it is possible to save a set of keys and to reimport?

Any help, especially a working solution, greatly appreciated.

  • Cannot connect to iCloud on iPhone.

I forgot my apple id password.  Set a new laptop. I now turn in the iPhone 4s to ATT for credit on the new plan and phone. Must login to iCloud to disable 'find iPhone' but password won't take the phone, even if it runs on laptop.  I get an error message saying "check failed. There was an error connecting to ICloud. "Already off old phone service - is it?  What should I do?

It must be connected to a network. Can you connect to wi - fi? That would allow him to connect to the server iCloud.

    AAARRRGGHHHH!

Open Keychain Access utility, use S.o.s. under Menu Keychain Keychain, and then either check the password on this point, change, or delete it and start over.

    You can have multiple entries.

Open Keychain Access utility, enter the part after the sign @ in the search bar and press enter

The rejection of password can confuse people because there's a catch its meaning...

This password, username, authentication method is not recognized on this Port for this server, more than one entry in Keychain Access for each input, input/output or end of server problem.

If you use a browser to connect via WebMail works, but not name or password, but that of others.

    Receiver e-mail ports are:

    IMAP is port 143

    IMAP-SSL is port 993

POP - SSL is port 995

    The outbound ports are...

SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25 and 587, 465. Port 587 should be SSL and port 465 is applied sheathed TLS and is generally used by Outlook users.

  • El Capitan 10.11.2. The Mac cannot connect to iCloud due to a problem with... (my email address)

Error message is presented to each start upward:

This Mac cant connect to iCould due to a problem (my email address)

Go to System Preferences to fix this problem boxes and offer now or LATER

I've seen this question discussed in 2014 and 2013 with other versions OX and I tried the advice offered in the discussions, but no fix my problem. To be honest, there seems to be no definitive solution to this earlier era and users reported that the error continued or returned.

My own system with El Capitan 10.11.2 is up to date and all information appears correctly when I look at about this Mac (I saw a patch on uTube to fix missing serial number), this isn't the problem I have.

By clicking on the box now offered as gifts to mistake getting me to System Prefs. I see nothing wrong. I have just to enter my normal password and continue during the day.

My work of iPad and iPhone without this hitch.

Nothing has changed for me or my game to the top.

My apple ID use a gmail address.

Addresses email on my system are verified. None have been changed, and all have been present on the mac without problem for more than three years.

I tried to uncheck boxes and Reselection of them...

There is an option of the discussed here earlier hotfixes that are users running OSX Yosemite and Mavericks, and that I have not tried is to remove the iCloud account. If I do this or even sign out I'm warned that to do so, will remove all documents stored in iCloud this Mac... it feels drastic and I'm afraid of what I might lose and kind of done use iCloud as a storage solution (that I pay for) useless.

Anyone know why this is happening and a step by step solution that will work without me having to take stupid with my data risks please?
