  • ALL my mail suddenly disappeared - everything! Malware?

A few days ago, I migrated all of my information from my older iMac who used the Snow Leopard operating system to my 'new' (actually bought second hand just before Christmas with guarantee of six months left and reset to factory settings) six months using BONE from Yosemite's old iMac. I think it's a total nightmare!

And the last problem is that ALL my mail disappeared completely. He had been there for a few days already, moved well, apparently and receive the mail with happiness. Then - all parties! Just completely empty for all the mailboxes in the right hand of the screen message box, while the sidebar with the mailbox is still there and the number of unread messages in each box.

Just before this happened that a pop window appeared saying mail wanted my admin password. This very annoying pop up always came up with horrible frequency during a long time ago, constantly asking admin password or password e-mail account until I could collect the mail. It would also be an interrupt constantly, even when I'm not dealing with mail, but do something completely different on the computer.

It seemed to be a terrible problem I thought maybe something to do with BT because BT provide my internet connection and caused all sorts of problems before with their 'technical help' people in India, is a complete joke and behave as malicious Cowboys and never, ever, be able to help with anything at all.

They demanded also that I realize sharing screen is totally unjustified and it may be that they inserted malware that my old mac began to behave badly, in addition to heating and slow down to a standstill. But all BT stuff was quite a long time ago & I was using mail on my old computer so far and even on the computer for a few days.

I just went to the old iMac & this box pop up was there to greet me again. It says mail wants to use the login keychain, enter the Keychain password. I did it, but then noticed there had been no new messages received or sent so why he wanted the password that it has nothing to do with at least he did not use it to check for new messages only to find out it was not everything.

I noticed that, just before all my mail is completely gone on the new mac pop box had the letters "DP" attached a strange place that made me think it was a con & malicious but at the time he had recorded in my brain, I had clicked on it in any case and it was too late.

Another possible clue, it's that I noticed in preferences/e-mail accounts in that each e-mail account info from server in gray instead of the black box it should be & is on the old mac. Clearly, something is very wrong here.

Anyone can shed light on this bizarre situation?

And exactly how can I re - install mail etc?

That should never happen. Mail requires only the password for an e-mail account.

Are you sure that you spoke to BT for 100%? Did you research BT and contact them or have you answered a pop-up? It is possible that you have copied something nefarious on old Mac.

    • I had cleaned the laptop fan, but still I got the message about problem of heat sink

The fan makes noise should almost certainly be replaced rather than cleaned.  Work correctly cooler CPU fan makes no noise or so little noise it's hard to hear.

writing in the new message: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy... *

I took the fan and cleaned it but still the same problem and the fan still makes noise. I don't know how to solve my problem.

  • How can I limit the size of a batch of e-mail for the campaign to the warming of the intellectual property?

We were working on our campaign 'Heating IP' for our first promo and we must limit the number of emails we send per day by Eloqua. I can't understand how to do this. I looked at Eloqua along, but I had no chance.

I found something called 'Email Batch Control' in the Setup menu, but I don't see any way to use it for, well, control and orders by e-mail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feeling a little lost...

    Thank you.

    Hi Rob,

You can do this in the program generator, specifically e-mail stage.  What you do is click on the drop down next to the stage of e-mail, go to "change the default step action", according to the details of "frequency", you have an option to send emails all at once or spread it in batches on a certain number of hours or days.  You would like to to be.  Now, regarding the mathematics behind it, if you load 1000 contacts in your program and the value that it be sent in batches of more than 6 hours, what he does is total-contacts / # in the batch, IE; 250 emails sent every 6 hours.

In the case of your post, you may mant to divide on a course of a few days.

  • Mail (version 9.3) frequently freezes, requires a reboot.

Mail under El Capitan (10.11.6) freezes frequently. Rebuild my Inbox, sent messages, Junk, etc was not rectified the problem. Seems arbitrary? Anyone else having this problem? All possible solutions to this?

Make a backup, preferably 2 on 2 separate drives.

    Exit the Mail.

Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail.  Move the folder com.apple.mail on your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the content.

Reboot, re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, recreate the required e-mail settings and import emails you want to save to the folder on the desktop. You can then put the file in the trash. If the problem persists, return the folder where you have guessed replacing one that is there.

If he does not repeat the above using Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent.

  • Sierra OSX mail

    Hi Apple,

Just upgraded to OSX Sierra 10.12 (A 16, 323), MacBook Pro (17 inch, early 2011).

    2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, RAM = 8 GB DDR3 at 1333 MHz.

After upgrading to Sierra, e-mail was completely rebuild, and now the app slows system performance where my Mac is almost unusable.  Spinning balls, delays of 30 seconds, etc..

After leaving messaging, things speed up slightly.  Restart my Mac accelerates again until I run the Messaging.

Could you please tell, and if it is a common problem, could you please address it in the next update of Sierra?  Had no problem under Yosemite.

    Thank you very much
    Erik

  • Mail is always "Download Messages".

I noticed that Apple Mail is always "Download Messages".  This process will occur approximately every 10 minutes.  This is usually between 250 and 270 messages.  (screenshot)  However, there is no double or extra emails.  In addition, the number of downloaded emails usually does not change (perhaps by 1 or 2 later in the day).

I have 4 email accounts in Mail, which are all Gmail accounts.  I went through each account settings and made sure they are all handled in the same way and have the same options are checked.

I think I found the problem with account, because I tried with the right button and select "Take account offline" when I see that it starts to download the messages.  Once I have put offline, the download stops.  I tried to remove this suspected account and Add again, but it still does the same thing.  Any help would be appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the communities of Apple support, ggerrits.

If I understand your message just Mail on your Mac continues to show that it Downloads hundreds of mails every 10 minutes. I can certainly understand how she could become a nuisance to see permanently who warn even if no new messages are actually downloading. I'm happy to help him to stop appearing.

You've done some excellent troubleshooting already to refine what e-mail account, what's happening with. The next thing that I recommend you do is to make sure that you run the version of OS X El Capitan, which should be 10.11.6. Using your Mac update, take a look at updating the software on your Mac. If you haven't done so already, I recommend also restart your Mac. Test the Mail after doing those two things.

If the problem persists, follow these steps:

    1. With Mail open, select "Mail" in the upper left corner of your screen and select Preferences.
    2. Select the tab accounts.
    3. Select the e-mail account that you are having the problem with.
    4. Select the Advanced tab.
    5. Uncheck "automatically detect and manage account settings."

Next, close and then restart Mail to see if you feel the same way.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

    Take care.

  • Yahoo Mail failure after upgrade of Sierra - iMac

After the upgrade to Sierra... Now I find that I can't 'see' Yahoo mail... I tried to add the a/c: then the removal of the a/c. I get the Triangle of Hazzard indicating error account! I went down this loop for 2 days...

All my other email accounts worked instantly. iCloud: Gmail etc.

I tried to manually configure the settings...

Everything seems 'normal'... but not a thing, no mail: no record... a real pain. the only joy that is web based too... If I can work...

But, come on APPLE... This happens to my Yahoo mail whenever I update IOS... What is going on???

I always seem to end up in a CHAT SESSION just to get my MAIL BASIC... This ISN'T a quality SERVICE...

MAIL today, is a very basic service... Please, APPLE... issue a patch for us, the little guys

    Rant on.

    help, please, anyone...

One user posted (Re: Sierra - Yahoo mail offline persistently) he has had success in choosing don't no Yahoo when you set up the account, but to choose the other and set up the details manually. You would like to try and see if it works for you.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Yahoo mail twice, but still does not.

  • No longer edit a signature in Mail

After the upgrade to Sierra, I can change my mail custom signatures are no longer. Any change I return mail is started.

    Strange, it works for me.

You might want to try to leave Mail, opening an Applications > utilities > Terminal and paste the following command:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/ ~/Desktop MV

Reset. Your signature changes persist now? If so, you can trash the folder that has been moved to your desktop for more security.

  • 10.0.2 IOS iPhone 5 mail app from phone

Today, I looked at my iPhone and the mail application's part, not only in the taskbar at the bottom, but since the phone? I used the spotlight to post top and typed search and it does not appear.  I went into the settings and instead of having Mail, contacts, calendar-now, I just contacts, calendar.  What happened to my mail application and how do I get it restored to my phone? Accidentally disable something and it's just hidden?  Or something was happening to the app?

Well check your home screen or app.

    Check the restrictions.

all else fails, setting - general - reset - reset the home page layout screen.
