  • Problem with the HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer: clean the print heads each time it is turned on

    Hello everyone,

the printer HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a - product n. CB022A) clean the print heads whenever I turn it on. This problem affects any HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer, it is not a problem only of this one I bought. It is a boring bug and annoying because each power clean print heads on involves two bad disadvantages:

    1. waste of ink (each heads cleaning process consumes little ink);
    2. too much time (2-3 minutes) to prepare the printer after plugging.

I upgraded my printer with the latest firmware available on the HP site (firmware ver. DLM1FN1006BR), but the bug is still present.

    At this point, I ask:

    1. There is a way (or procedure) to disable automatic cleaning this useless to all power on?
    2. Can we communicate with the HP engineers or tell me how to contact directly one of them to indicate the bug and request a new firmware updated?

Please don't tell me to leave the printer on all the time or that the printheads to each cleaning power is normal behavior! Where then are power and ink savings claimed for this printer model?

I hope that a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance to everyone will help me!

Maintenance when the printer is turned on is normal and is required to keep the printheads in good health (not blocked). See here for more information.

With respect to energy savings, the printer automatically goes to low power mode when the don't feel not for awhile.  It is not necessary turn the unit on to save energy.

  • What is the proper maintenance of Photosmart printer?

My first inkjet printer is a HP Deskjet 842c and it worked fine for almost ten years before that I gave to my friend - still works.  After having such a reliable product, it's a no-brainer to buy a HP printer again.  In 2009, I did a serious upgrade and got an all-in-One (TouchSmart Web of HP Photosmart Premium all-in-One Printer C309n) with all the bells and whistles... scanner, fax, wireless, capable of printing photos.  I immediately fell in love with her, using a scanner and print more photos...

I was very surprised to find out this week that a component, I had not heard of, called a print head was not working and needed replacement.  HP parts helped me and got spare $ 50 for me in a few days.  When it arrived, I did everything the instructions advised - remove the old part, clean the printer in a specific area and the manner and replace all ink cartridges (which cost me a lot).  After much work and calls to HP, I was informed that the printer itself wad dead replacement and necessary. I was shocked, as the life expectancy of my first HP printer had been so long.

I really want to buy a HP Photosmart once again, but want to make sure I'm doing everything that is good to keep the happy printer and have a long life.  If there is no regular maintenance, cleaning, etc. I do with my new inkjet can someone advise to extend the life of it?  When I removed the original printhead, that he had a bunch of gunked-up ink on it, and that was obviously not good for her.  I never even bought an extended warranty, since I had no failures of the first.  I'll get it for my next.

Any advice would be greatly appreicated help me...

    Hello

Sorry to hear about your experience, it sounds like one you print a lot and I was chatting with some people here, to see what printer model that would better suit you your needs. If you want to stick with a photosmart, you could go with a system of 5 ink print head again. This could be a good option that you already have a print head "spare" if something goes wrong. Otherwise, you could get away PS and look to Officejet Pro instead. Take a look at the printer Buying Guide for more information http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/597655-0-0-225-121.html

BTW, if you are having problems printing quality that people have had success with the printhead from soaking recommended by Bob in this post , I would say only this, if you are out of warranty, otherwise contact the HP Support.

You could make ordinary print head cleans, but just be warned that little ink get used during this process.

Hope it will be useful to you. I would suggest contacting HP when buying is still once it is probably of discounts available for upgrade to new models of printers.

I use a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.9.5.  I have a Kodak hung printer which worked beautifully until 3 days ago.  Now it is printing very light, barely able to read.  I did everything what others have suggested: changed ink, the printer cartridge out and cleaned, printhead maintenance - nothing works.  I know that a week ago, I received a message that there is an update of the software for my printer.  I wonder if that could have anything to do with it.  I don't know how to check this.  I love my Mac and my printer.  Help!

  • Officejet 6310 all-in-One fainted during the printing and copying

I have an Officejet 6310 all-in-one.  I have Windows Vista.  Yesterday, I replaced the black cartridge with HP98.  Now when I make copies or print a document, print the page gets more light and more light, about 1/3 to 1/2 through the page and very light down by a horizontal white line through the text.  I cleaned the cartridge with a damp cloth, I ran the command of cartridges clean but also align the cartridges.  I turned off the printer and unplugged and restarted again.  When I run a self-test page, especially the black line went up to 2/3 of the way, then it is empty at the top and gets darker, then the last 1/3 is fine.  The test pattern shows a few holes in the grid to black.

I just checked the cushion under the black ink cartridge and it is saturated with ink.  I don't know that is where the problem originated.  I would be very grateful of any advice to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

Is it a HP cartridge or a charging/reman?  It seems to be a faulty cartridge.  If it is an original HP, then check the warranty of the cartridge as shown here.

It is unlikely that the ink that you see in the field of the service station is the issue.  The ink that you see is the result of the normal maintenance routine that the printer uses to keep the printheads from clogging.  It is normal that there is ink in this area.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Keep the printer?

New to the Forum.  I have an Officejet Pro 8610.  My old printer (4620) would turn off and unplug the printer after each use.  Sometimes, I go 2 weeks without use of the machine.  I was told to leave the printer on all the time.  What is the best option for someone who is not a big user of the printer?  Thank you.

    Hi @Bronco1,

It's really best to let the printer on as he said himself. I have an officejet 6600 that I use maybe once every month or two, I leave it on and it goes into sleep/power mode mode; your printer you will do the same. The advantage to leave, as mentioned, is that the printer will systematically be past in maintenance mode and keep the ink moving regularly. This maintenance helps prevent inks from drying up.

Keep the print head of your printer is a bit like the oil in your car. If you do not regularly, not only it won't work best, but ultimately it may not work at all. And the cost of maintenance is negligible compared to the cost of the repair if you do not have the maintenance - in the case of your printer, it uses a small amount of ink flowing through the print head and keep it clear.  -J' found this text of presentation with additional information in the following link: should you turn your printer Off when you don't use it?

Ultimately there is no "right" answer, but I think it is really preferable to leave the printer on.

I hope this solves your request.

  • Reset the printer

Why my printer always do something called prepares to halfway through my impression? It should not prepare when it is turned on the first thing in the morning?

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system? How is the connected printer - USB, LAN, LAN cable wireless, bluetooth?

If the printer is an inkjet model, there will be a few print head maintenance to keep open nozzles.  According to technology (based dye or pigmented inks, printheads, integrated or separate inks and printheads) the amount of the service may vary.  It would be unusual for there is some maintenance of work environment, especially when printing photos or printing for a long time.

See here for more information on how the ink is used.

First unplug the printer and select uninstall in the Start Menu of the printer folder.

Then download and install the latest version of the software below:

    HP support

    Edit:

I know that maybe it's a little late to come and see this post was several months ago, but I had the same problem.

I ended up turning off the machine and opening printer and check the ink cartridges (I had seen just to find the part number for a new cartridge).  I found that the blue cover which snaps into place on the ink cartridges was broken not closed completely.  This has caused the printer constantly tries to go into maintenance mode, but it could never align cartridges.  She also told me that there is a paper jam, even when there is no paper in the machine.  I even let the maintenance run all night without success.

Once the cartridges have been broken in place and the blue cover has been fully guaranteed, the printer worked.

The menu system can sometimes be difficult to penetrate, now a key too long or not long enough can cause do not enter service mode, there are two ways to enter mode service, one for telephone support for customers, one for the technicians.  I will paste this again to see if it helps.  I would like to make the calibration of paper feed.

  • When you try to reinstall the printer I hit find now and choose / click on the printer, but then he says: I mistyped the location

(I'm asking this question in the installation, upgrade and activate rather than the hardware and the drivers because I think it's a problem with Windows, not the driver)

I had a ton of problems with the computer of the person of the new. I did not originally put in place, but its maintenance fell for me. I've had this question before: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-word/office-2010-products-wont-print-and-computer-wont/4e92f903-8f25-485b-8316-332bb086a75d these are the steps I've lived first and I went through the "How to troubleshoot print...» "I can print in each program on the computer except Word. including other Office products. The only hold out is the Word.
I had found a response that suggested that I have reinstall the printer. The printer is a shared printer and not a local. I get to the Find Printers dialog box, select Find now and see the printer:
I click on the printer that Windows has found and click OK, then it hangs for a minute and then, it returns this error message:
How do I enter if I clicked it in the list? And how can we get the computer to find it if there is no location?
Any help would be nice! Thank you

If it is a printer that connects directly to the network by an ethernet cable, and is configured with its own Ethernet address (i.e.  do not connect directly to a single computer with a USB connection), then you might be connected the wrong way.

In Control Panel, go to "Printers and faxes", then click "add a printer".  At the Welcome screen, click 'Next' and then on the next screen, select "local printer attached to this computer.  Specifically, resist the temptation to click on "a network printer.  Do not click the box "automatically detect...". ", and then click"next ".  On the next screen, click on the button "Create a new port" and then in the "Type of Port" window, select "Standard TCP/IP port".  Then click on "next".  Another wizard starts.  Click on "Next" at the Welcome screen.  On the next screen, enter the TCP/IP address of your printer on the top line.  The second line fills automatically.  Click on 'Next' and then 'Finish '.  Wait a few seconds and from this point of exit, the choice should logic.

I hope that this will improve the way things work.
