Make a record of Win XP SP3

How I make a Windows XP SP3 boot disk?  I am interested to integrate the SP3 files so the disk can be booted.  Thanks for your help.

You can use nlite to integrate sp3. Use Nero to burn the image as a bootable drive.

Good luck

I have a medical director who is a want WHETHER it's Technical Support and I need concrete information to present to him. How scrolling him negatively affect pc performance?

Probably, it will not make a difference if you use a screensaver brand scrolling. However, you do not have enough RAM on workstations. Thanks to another stick to bring them up to 1 GB and check your network infrastructure. It is much more likely that the machines are 'stuck' because you 1) do not have enough RAM on old workstations; and (2) you do not have enough bandwidth on your network; and/or (3) you need to upgrade your hardware network - switches, routers, cabling, etc.. • A security update (KB2584146) has been installed. It shows "installed successfully." Yet, whenever I have re-boot or run Micrsoft update, it offers this update again. Win XP SP3 (Build 2600).

A security update (KB2584146) has been installed. After installation, it shows properly "installed". Yet, whenever I have re-boot or run Micrsoft update, it offers this update again. It shows also 'successful' in the history of my Microsaoft update. Win XP SP3 (Build 2600).

It's an old update. Wonder why you just get it now.

    First try this...
Click Start > run > type chkdsk/r > press OK or press the Enter key. A cmd window will appear telling you that the volume is in use and you want to plan its next reboot. Type y and press ENTER. Then restart.
Try to install the update and check that it installed properly by doing another analysis of Windows Update.

    If this does not do...
Download the update manually, on your desktop to the http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28608.
Click Start > run > Browse. In the Browse dialog box, double-click WindowsXP-KB2584146 - x 86 - ENU.exe. The box open term should have the path now. Add a space and an x at the end.
Press OK or press the Enter key.
You will get a dialog box with the path to your desktop already filled.
After Office add a slash and the name of the folder so that we end up with something like C:\Documents and Settings\\Desktop\KB2584146.
Go to this folder, and then in the SP3GDR folder.
    You can see packager.exe.
    Right-click to copy.
In the box to run, type dllcache, then press on enter.
Paste the file in there, replacing the one already there.
In the run box, type system32, then press on enter.
Paste the file there too by crushing the already there.
Is there a lot of folder there. Make sure you do not paste in a subfolder. You want to the root of system32.

Go to Windows Update and confirm that it no longer wants to install.

  • Using WIN XP SP3 and OE 6 many crashes and freezes

I use WIN XP SP3 Home edition and OE6.  I have three problems 1.  Very slow operation.  2. frequent crashes when you delete the email.  3. frequent freezes and shuts down completely.

It makes it almost impossible to get anything done.  It takes most of the morning to read my mail.  Work with IE8 is the same slow, crashes, and freezes.

You probably corrupted dbx files. Compact all folders first and see which helps. If this isn't the case, create a new identity.

    ********************

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    Compress your OE folders:
    http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

    **********************

You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identity | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

    General precautions for Outlook Express

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

  • What happens if I am just installed win xp sp3 on Windows xp sp2?

I just installed win xp sp3 & in properties, she changed my OS from sp2 and sp3. It makes no difference to my current operating system or not? (GOLD)  Should I reinstall it?

    Hi DawoodYousaf,

He is quite right, as you look in system properties. Windows XP Service Pack 3 is an important update for the operating system. It includes all updates previously released for the operating system. This update also includes a small number of new features. It also includes published earlier updates of security, performance and stability for Windows XP.

After you install this update, the properties of the system change and show that Windows XP Service Pack 3 is installed. So what you see is completely normal.

  • LabVIEW 2010 will not install on Win XP SP3

I have made several attempts to install LabVIEW 2010 on Win XP SP3. I already have LabVIEW 2009 installed and working.

On each attempt, I accept the default installation options and do not put in a serial number. The first attempt got stuck at 2% full and has not changed for 30 minutes. No error message. I canceled the installation and tried to install it again from setup.exe.

The next two attempts to stall at 0% blinking forever. The 4th attempt made in 18% entered at a standstill for more than 30 minutes. The next two attempts is stagnating at 0% repeating and not cancel. I had to end it with the Task Manager.

Why it not install LabVIEW 2010 without stalling until 30 minutes? Why it not spit an error instead of just stalling? How can I know why he moved?  How should I do?

I finally got to LabVIEW 2010 to install.

I didn't have a corrupted download. I didn't disable my antivirus. I didn't have a lot of processes running. I turned off my computer last night and I tried the setup.exe again this morning first thing. Maybe running LabVIEW 2009 yesterday before installation left something that the installation did not like. Who knows?

How is the installation of LabVIEW 2010 would just stall for long periods (more than 30 minutes, maybe forever) without any error message or progress?

LabVIEW has a Setup log that I could look into these situations to see where the installation is suspended up to and perhaps why?
