make the noise of the fan

my Mac Mini fan makes noise loud rattaling.

What model Mini?

She has been taken out before?

What kind of noise?

Is it just run very fast? Or it sounds like something is broken?

I would install a fan speed and application as the fan control Mac free of temperature monitoring or paid iStat.

To monitor the time and the speed of the fan.

The fan goes in cycles like this:
    ------------------
    Less than 50, fan

    When< 55,="" fan="" on="">
    When< 50,="" fan="" off="">

    Hello

The fans begin to turn only if a certain temperature point has been reached.
These fan table information is stored in the BIOS and cannot be changed.

Some computers laptops satellite supports an additional option in the Toshiba HWSetup. It allows to change the CPU dynamically switchable or always low frequency mode.
This would set the temperature to a lower level and the fans would lead occasionally.

In any case, to my knowledge, this option is not available in the Toshiba HWSetup and not in the BIOS so I guess that it s not possible to control fan behavior.

By the way; If you wish, you can test a tool like aSpeedFanfreeware.
This program can control the speed of the fans according to the temperatures of the system.
Maybe it will work on your Satellite Pro U300

  • Qosmio F50 - the fan works more often?

    Hello

I installed the display driver Windows 7 32 bit in 32 bit Vista and it worked almost fine except that the fan works for shorter time compared to when Vista 32-bit driver is installed.

Is there a way to make the fan work more often or always while aware that the driver 32-bit Windows 7 is much better, but increases the temperature of the laptop?

    Thank you

    Hey

The activity of the fan will be controlled automatically and there is no value that you can change. All you can do is to change the cooling method in Windows power management. For each level of power, you can change between maximum performance and battery optimized. If you choose a maximum performance of the activity of the fan will be higher.

But not don t. Important worry is that you have installed the Toshiba display driver and if your laptop overheats it would must down to protect the equipment.

  • HP DV7-4020sa fan - cleaned noise and still make the noise

    Hello.

I need help with my laptop. It is a DV7-4020sa.

Since I bought the laptop (used) the fan made a horrible squeaky sound. I decided to fix it today so dissambled laptop computer and gave the fan a good clean and also put some wd40 on the axis of the fan.

Unfortunately, after reassembling, the fan still makes noise. It's strange because if I pull the screen/lid slightly towards me, it stops the noise, and also if I apply pressure to the lower part on the base where the fan is located.

Should I buy a new/submitted fan new to replace it, or is there a fix I can apply?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello:

More than likely, the bearings of the fan are in ruins, and the only solution would be to replace the Fan/Heatsink combo.  The fan is not sold separately.

Your model equipped with a discrete video adapter according to the product specification, so you should be the Fan/Heatsink Assembly which, according to the maintenance manual, includes hardware replacement, intended only to computer models with graphical subsystems with discrete memory.  Part # 606575-001 HP.

It's quite expensive at $84.28, but I do not buy a used assembly (if you could find another one) and eventually encounter the same problem on the line.

Sometimes this happens because users simply spray a jet of compressed air into the fan intake and exhaust air vent covers, which is perfectly OK, as long as you place a PIN or something that can get through the protection grid, between two of the fan blades to prevent it from turning.

It is not a contest to see how fast or strong you can do this fan to lament when cleaning, because that's how the bearings get ruined.  They are delicate and only designed to handle a certain RPM range.

One can only imagine how far beyond this tolerance range fan bearings can go, when they are subjected to a jet of compressed air of a jet!

  • My Mac was purchased in November 2014. The fan makes a noise Purring but stops when I lift it and hold it vertically. I just got this back from repair to the workshop of John Lewis as he made a further strong noise.

My Macbook (one and a half year). The fan has become noisy and I just got in return for repair from John Lewis. The problem is that I think that it is still too noisy. He runs not fast, but it is noisier than it was when we bought it first.  The fan noise also stops when I take the Mac on the end. Is this normal?  Thank you.

There is no such thing as a MacBook 1 year and a half with a fan.

    The 12 '' MacBook isn't a fan.

The last MacBook with a fan was the 2010 model.

Perhaps you have a MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro, if so you should post your question to one of these areas of the forum.

  • Installation of SSD drive and the noise of the fan to the MacBook Pro?

    Hello

Just replaced the stock 5400 RPM HARD drive in my MacBook Pro mid-2012 with an SSD 480 GB Sandisk and now the fan makes a loud noise. Sounds like it's revving at full speed. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thank you.

You can try Macs with Intel processors: System management controller (SMC) reset and see if that fixes the problem. Unless you make a mistake in the reassembly, the two should be independent. On the other hand, it could be something in the design of the SSD. Personally, I would like to replace it with an OWC or OCZ.

To check if the two are somehow connected try to replace the old HDD to see if the fan slows down. If it then reinstalls the SSD, making attention to do correctly and re - test. See how to install the ribbon cable short connecting the drive to the motherboard. It's easy to get the pins on the misaligned ribbon cable.

  • Satellite M40X - the noise of the fan

    Hi all.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite M40X - 161 (PSM4XE).

I had this problem with the fan of the computer running all the time and make a lot of noise because I bought a few years ago.
Once I had the fan cleaned in the shop of service it was ok for a few days, and then he started again.

Is there a solution for this problem? I read that Toshiba has released new versions of BIOS that solve this problem, but for laptops with ATI/nVidia video cards.

I have an Intel card. Is there something for my model, and someone has fixed this?

    Hello

Is not a friend of the problem.

The cooling modules must be cleaned periodically. It s not enough clean the fans only once the dust appears more if it s necessary to regularly clean the cooling modules.

You should also take a look in the power of the Windows operating system options.
Most of the time it possible s control of the CPU performance and cooling performance that would reduce noise and fan activity.

  • Strange noise coming from the fan on Satellite P100

My Satellite P100 just makes a noise like a seriously heavy drill. Nothing else happened significantly so I turned off immediately and left for an hour or so overheating had the broken fan.
Now back on and everything seems fine, but I'm worried. Is there something that can explain this? I got 5 interviews next week for which I use the laptop to prepare a presentation and I do not want to fail on me at the last minute...

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hello

that could be an object (something really little) is/was blocked in your FAN and is now gone. If this would be a problem of turnover so the fan would still some strange noises.

I suggest you do the following: use your machine as usual and if noise appears again then ask a technician to clean the fan/ventilation system. I Don t think it s some malfunction of the equipment.

  • Touchscreen and the noise of the fan U920T - 11 c satellite fails sometimes

    Hello

    I just bought the U920T - 11 c a few days ago.
I love him but he some of the questions they put me down and make me want to go back.

The first problem is the loud fan noise that lights up. Is there anyway to turn this off?

Happens about 15 minutes using the web and then turns on and off every 5 minutes. It's really strong and be in the break room, it is noticeable.

Can I do to stop this? I'm only using the web and not running other programs.

I also noticed that the touch screen fails to respond without particular reason. I don't know if there is a trend, but it's frustrating when it stops just for no reason and then sometimes everything works again.

Looking at these forums it seems that it is a common problem with the Toshiba. I have a few days before I can return, so if they are not resolved, I think that I might go just form the Samsun ATIV book 9 Lite instead.

    Thank you

    > Happens about 15 minutes using the web and then turns on and off every 5 minutes. It's really strong and be in the break room, it is noticeable.

I assumed that the noise comes from fans who need to run more quickly if the internal temperature would increase.
What you could do is change cooling performance module in single power management.
You could also decrease the performance of the processor. This would lead to a lower heat dissipation and the fans slow down.

    > Also, I noticed that the touch screen fails to respond without particular reason. I don't know if there is a trend, but it's frustrating when it stops just for no reason and then sometimes everything works again

You could try to calibrate the digitizer
Go to the control panel (Windows key + X-> Control Panel)-> Tablet PC setting.

The first display tab contains options such as configure screen stylus and touchscreen.
Here, you should be able to start the installation program and identify the touchscreen.

The first option must contain 1 internal LCD
At the bottom, you might find button to calibrate and reset the settings for the internal LCD.

But it could also be a hardware malfunction. I can't say for sure why this happens, but perhaps a technician should take a look at the material.

  • Satellite U405d-s2850 - noise coming from the fan high pitch

I bought my computer laptop 2nd Friday last for the school. I bought it at Costco after comparing with some other laptops.
I like it so far, it is a tone high from the fan noise. First I thought it was my ear, but it wasn't. This high pitch noise is so darn high, it makes me crazy.

This means, there is something wrong with this laptop?
Or am I just darn sensitive?
My other laptop Toshiba is very good. It's just this new laptop!
    Help!

Should I return this laptop and get a new one or is it normal?

    Hello

Are you sure that this noise is coming from the cooling module?
Usually, it is really hard to say what causes these sounds of high pitch without disassembling the whole laptop and check the single parts.

    > This means, there is something wrong with this laptop?
To be honest, I never noticed the sounds of high pitch on my three different notebooks.
So I guess there might be something wrong with the single computer laptop part.

So if you aren't really sure what causes this noise of high tone, then I recommend contacting ASP in your country for and verification of the laptop.

    Welcome mate

  • If I unplug my charger for my laptop will stop, and then I'll I have to reset the SMC to turn back once again and I can't seem to stop the fan noise.

  • Qosmio F750-030 - the fan noise so that the closing

I purchased a Qosmio F750-030 in September 2011 for the first weeks, it worked perfectly, but after a few weeks the fan has started to make noises when she stops.
Looks like a jet and it is really very strong. I don't a not to worry about this at first. But generally, it runs at 50-55% now, whenever I try to do more than one thing about it, he climbs up to 70% and starting to make the same noise.

I put it on the Eco mode which prevents him from jump that high. But now I'm starting to worry about all the noise it makes when it stops. I stopped to use it as well because of this, but it's just a waste since I paid a lot for it, it's still under warranty, but I wanted to know if anyone has any ideas why it would do this or I'm better off just ringtone Toshiba and see if they can fix it.

I understand the CPU needs to cool down but I had a lot of laptops and it is the first which makes kind
    Noise?

Please help me any suggestions would be very grateful.

Please change the parameters for the method of optimized cooling battery. This option can be found in the advanced power options > Toshiba power saver.
This will reduce the cooling fan activity and your laptop will run quietly.

When the laptop turns off all background processes should be stopped. In this case the laptop runs faster and it is not uncommon that cooling fan runs faster. I assume that you have installed additional software that runs in the background and it is the reason why you didn t hear cooling fan in the past.
Believe me there is no reason to panic.

  • Satellite U500 - 11G - noise of the fan speed after BIOS update

    Hello

    I have the Toshiba Satellite U500 - 11G.
I've recently updated the BIOS because my CPU fan did not work under Ubuntu,
But after the update, my CPU fan speed is faster then normal and make a lot of noise (even if the CPU is cool) when I use Windows 7 is still stay on fast speed making a lot of noise.

Do we sort of degrading the BIOS or thw way to earn the slow CPU fan speed?

    Concerning

Update BIOS because of Linux? You know that Linux is not possible on this laptop model?

In any case, to reduce the fan sped Please reduce the cooling in saving settings method.

    Hello

My Satellite A200-1 t 0 made noise bad uncomfortable even on cold start.
I tried to clean up the use of household vacuum without removing cabinets, always, she improved marginally.

What I need to replace the cooling fan?
I looked on the internet I couldn't find out where to buy the replacement cooling fan.
I found a link as below, but it is mentioned that for AMD processor but mine in Intel Core 2 Duo.
    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/Toshiba-Satellite-A200-1To-compatible-processors/DP/B005TTJ62U
Not sure if it would be compatible.

I'll be able to buy this Toshiba?

Please kindly advice how to solve this problem of fan noise.

    Thank you

    [email protected]

    Hello Jay

Satellite A200 is old model of laptop, and I can imagine that the fan cooling and air conditioning grill are full of dust.
Before changing anything your laptop must be completely disassembled and cleaned. I did this several times in the past and I must say that my books were much quieter than before. After the cooling system will work properly and laptop will be able to take a breath.

I put t know if you know someone who can help you with this. Please don't spend your money for new parts. At a first professional portable make cleaning.

    Please send comments.

  • Satellite A350 - the noise of the fan is not quite

    Hello!

I bought the A350, overnight last week. I noticed that the fan can be quite noisy at times.

When I run programs of low demand or when the computer is idle, I noticed that the fans have become really noise every minute or so for about 20 seconds. It is certainly not quiet when it lights. When I run intensive programs, such as games apps, the fan seems to be constantly, that makes sense.

My main problem is the amount of noise coming from the fan. Anyone has solutions or ideas on how I could continue on the reduction of noise from fans? Does anyone have a similar experience with this laptop? I hope that it is as simple as changing a parameter, or something. As it is, I can never use that laptop to work due to the amount of noise coming from the fan. Sporadic nature doesn't help either.

I would appreciate any help with this issue.

    Sam

    Hello!

I think that it is normal that the fan is constantly on when you run intensive programs like games. Here, you will get a 100% CPU usage and it is normal that the CPU produces heat loss.

And if I surf in the Internet, the fan works often but at the lowest level and makes a lot of noise.

However, I think that it is not a problem, but if you do not accept this, go to a local ASP. They can check the fan and say what's right and wrong.

    Good bye
