make the updates for 1000's of models

I have updates to make to my a few models thousand illustrator and I have no intention to make them 1 by 1.  Question: can I run actions to take care of all the updates that need to facts... I'm getting hung up on the "save under" I want these files to re-record as their current file in the same folder or in another folder name (doesn't matter to me), but models Illustrator open with a file name of "Untitled 1" "Untitled 2" etc etc... ".  I don't want to go to retype each individual file for all these files name.  The name of current file information is stored in the meta data section in "file info"... but I can't understand how tell illustrator to get this info and save a new file to commandeer for me.  Honestly I don't know anything about the scripts, or I guess this process is incredibly easy.

Any help you can offer would be much appreciated... or I'll have hours and hours of type file names in my near future

What happened to just rename "commandeer" ".ai", and when you have finished rename them back.

If filename model you differs from the metadata one, you need a script to do it, something like below
