Make Windows 7 32-bit to 64-bit with OEM license

I inherited Tower of Lenovo to my mother-in-law that she had installed under a license OEM Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.  I have the product key.  I'm changing from 32 bit to 64 bit, while keeping Windows 7 Professional.  I tried to use slui.exe 4, but after entering the code said it was invalid.  A run the validation tool, validated my license, run slui.exe 4 still not valid.  Some info told to contact Microsoft, other info says that I have to order manufacturer Lenovo recovery disk. I burned a WMI recovery disk.  Thanks much for the advice.

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit is currently installed?

If this is the case, use the product key on the COA sticker to reactivate by phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Help you connect ODBC in Windows 7 64 bit with Office 2010 32-bit.

    Hello

    Many moons ago, I wrote an application in Java that configured XP machines after sysprep would be deployed. I am currently all our workstations to Windows 7 migration and was check my application always worked and interrogates the correct registry keys etc.

    As it turns out however I don't even go there as I think the application is unable to connect to the driver ODBC Microsoft Access in Windows 7 64 bit with Office 2010 32-bit. Here is the code that I have always used and no longer works. I hope someone can tell me how to change the command works on Windows 7 64 bit. If I navigate to C:\Windows\SysWow64\OBDCad32.exe all the drivers I need are there I think, but if I open ODBC in Administrative Tools tab drivers is empty but for SQL. Anyway I have to shut up and here is the code I used to use:

    public IOMakeConnection()
    {
    DM = new DisplayMessage();
    ioed = new IOEncryptDecrypt();
    URL = "jdbc:odbc:DRIVER = Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb); DBQ ="+ GetExtension() + 'Config.mdb; UID = admin; Pwd = password';

    VR;
    {
    Class.forName ("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    connection = DriverManager.getConnection (url);
    }

    catch (System.Exception e)
    {
    System.out.println ("" + e);
    errorObtainingPath();
    }
    }

    The exception is always thrown as my little app that requires the path of the database always loads.

    Thanks in advance,

    Cheers Kris

    C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /C CD\ & SET CLASSPATH = C:\SCAConfigurationUtility & CD C:\SCAConfigurationUtility & SCAConfigurationUtility JAVAW

    Well, there is a call to javaw there; because there is no path, it will use the 'java by default'; I don't have no idea how a java version becomes the default java but I would not be surprised if this is the last installation.

    You can force a specific runtime to use by replacing the "javaw" with the full path to the runtime javaw executable you want to use in this particular case (its in the bin directory). It's basic shell btw stuff, it has nothing to do with Java.

  • Reinstallation of Windows 7 with OEM license with an OEM license and the manufacturer's warranty expired

    My hard drive starts to die, if I want to backup all my data and be ready in case it fails. One of the things on my list of verification is to ensure that I can reinstall Windows 7 if need be.

    I don't have in my possession a Windows reinstallation disk, so I want to create a USB bootable for windows 7. The link to the .isos DIgital River that I use to create my bootable USB key doesn't work for users with OEM licenses. Very annoying, but I can legally get a Dell reinstall drive instead. But Dell wouldn't send me reinstallation disks because my warranty with Dell expired.

    The result of this is that if your a manufacturer guarantee expired, you can no longer reinstall windows on the same computer!

    Dell says it is responsible for providing the relevant recovery media, including Windows used to do with the Digital River .isos, but who no longer work for people with Microsoft's Windows 7 OEM license. Microsoft says that it is the responsibility of Dell to provide its customers with the recovery media (disks to reinstall windows) in the first place. Personally, I'm not interested in the blame game - I just want to have access to a recovery media so I have the option of legally re - install windows 7 in the future with my OEM license.

    Can you help me with this problem? Thank you.

    Downloads Microsoft removing the Digital River and replacing them with a non-functional tool are extremely boring.

    If you can still start, update Dell backup and restore to the latest version:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=7yOz10Y8GCE

    http://www.Dell.com/support/home/drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=8HY96

    Make a USB (older than 2012 systems) recovery or recovery external hard drive (more recent than 2012 systems):

    Boot from it to the new hard drive and use it to reinstall. Recovery media is using earlier versions may not work on the new disks.

  • How to make Windows 7 32-bit to 64-bit without the new windows installation 7

    32-bit to 64-bit without the new windows installation 7

    Moving from 32 bit to 64 bit Windows 7 always requires an own (custom) installation of Windows 7.

    Since this is a clean install of Windows it takes you will need to backup your personal data (documents, pictures, music, etc. on a separate drive). You should also make sure that you have installation media, and product keys available to reinstall your programs.

    Most, but not all Windows 7 32-bit programs will be running on Windows 7 64 bit. Check the support of publishers of program site compatibility.

    32-bit and 64-bit drivers are not interchangeable. You should make sure that your hardware has drivers 64-bit available.

With the games in Star Trek, they install OK but when I try to play them they say I don't have enough virtual memory, they all have two needs a minimum of 256 MB and a recommended amount of 1 GB, and according to my computer, I have 8 GB of virtual memory. With the Star Wars game graphics are stripped but the graphics card of computers more is sufficient to support because my computer call supports the 1080 p 3d graphics and the game is not HD or 3D. The programe "Game Maker 7" guard back to the version lite free of the paid Pro version, but it doesn't on my HTPC Windows 7 family 32-Bit, I also on, and it does not show some programs tap tiles, but they appear on the HTPC, so do you know what could be the problem, I know it something to do with the 64-bit operating system part , but I don't know if it's just that or not. • Windows 7 64 bit with XP Mode

    Hello

    I installed a windows 7 64 bit on the 5 of VMWare ESXi server.

    Furthermore, I would also like to use windows XP mode. But every time that I run windows xp, the windows network connection mode 7 no longer works.

    I have to close the windows xp mode and use the wizard to repair the network card. Then it works again. But if I start then again windows xp mode, the problem reoccurs.

    If I try Nslookup, it is said that the standard server is unavailable...

    I don't know how the bridge Windows Virtual PC network is configured by default, but you may have to enable mode promiscuity on the ESXi vSwitch for Windows 7 client to make it work.  See http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004099 for instructions on this operation.

    Hello Winger

    I checked the Toshiba download page, and unfortunately your laptop model is not supported for Windows 7 64-bit. I can see only Vista 64 bit is supported.

    So I really don t know what to say. What you can try is to install Win7 tips designed for another portable model supported for Win7 64 bit but identical or similar composantsmateriels.

    If you decide to use Vista 64-bit and you need help, we know.

    I thought that Windows 7 32-bit(Ultimate version) fixed limit of RAM.  I have 6 GB installed, he sees that the 6 but he says only 2.99 is usable. I have to go to 64-bit?

    Yes, you must go to 64-bit to use all the RAM.

    32-bit may signal the presence of all the 6 GB but only treaty that 4 GB and part of that 4 GB is used for material - mainly the video memory and BIOS device.

  • Going to replace my hard drive, I'm unable to use my OEM of Windows Vista 32 - bit with the new drive copy?

    I plan to replace my current hard drive (which is functional, but not surprising in the first place) with a Solid State drive, which will help to my Alienware Area-51 m9750 notebook.  I find a reader fully compatible solid state, but I'm not there purchase Alienware.  I'm currently under Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit), and I still have the recovery DVD used to reinstall the operating system.  I reformatted my hard drive several times using this disc, each time that the deletion of the whole score and starting from scratch.  Every time I did it, I'm never asked to activate my copy of windows, mysteriously turned on when I boot on my new install of Windows for the first time, without even plugging the cable Ethernet first, and my house has no wireless network.

    I wonder, if/when I install a new hard drive, will have a different experience somehow in regards to Windows activation?  I'm unable to use my OEM of Windows copy at all?  Alternatively, my windows mysteriously will activate itself without ever seeing the internet as it does now?

    The physical hard disk (solid state or record) is not serious for the operating system that is installed on.  As long as the drive is a standard interface and does not require special drivers not work (and most don't), you should have no problem.

    The recovery disks you are using are set to read specific information about the motherboard and as long as there is this particular information, that it is looking she will be triggered and doesn't have to go online to activate as the retail of Windows is required to do.  The only problem with this type of activation, it's that if the motherboard fails ever it should be replaced with a similar brand and model or autonomous activation fails and the operating system is an OEM version that is related to this motherboard and cannot be enabled on a newer replacement.
  • Oracle process has many flaws of page on windows 2003 64-bit with 16 GB of RAM

    Hello

    We have recently installed a new Oracle RAC database on a customer site:

    2 - nodes x SP2 of Windows 2003 R2 Standard x 64
    Oracle 10.2.0.6.0 64-bit
    Each node has 16 GB of RAM
    SGA_TARGET = 1536M
    PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET = 1628M

    Navigation via Enterprise Manager, there was a warning on "virtual memory an Excessive paging. So I opened the the Task Manager Windows on one of the nodes, and Yes, I see a considerable number of 'page fault' for the oracle.exe process. To give a slightly better idea, some relevant columns for this process I write values:
    Proc Name     Memory Use      Max Mem Use         Virtual Mem Size       Page Faults
    oracle.exe    2.690.692KB     2.959.324KB         3.053.889KB            2.914.171.009
    And this value for 'page fault' increases 1000-2000 about a second.

    There are several other processes running on the server, nothing appears out of the ordinary for me (for example the process of Enterprise Manager, AntiVirus, winlogon.exe). The sum of the memory of these processes are using / used is about 1 GB.

    Looking at the "performance" tab in the Task Manager, I see that:
    Total Physical Memory = 16Gb
    Available = 12Gb
    All of this makes sense to me:
    16Gb RAM
    4Gb used by all processes on the server
    12Gb available
    So why do we not see paging for oracle.exe? I guess I'm missing something on what exactly the column 'page errors' told me. Can someone explain what is happening?

    Kind regards
    ADOS

    Of http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc961101.aspx (monitoring and Tuning your server):
    "If a process request a page in memory and the system cannot find the requested location, this is a page fault. (If the page is elsewhere in memory fault is called a soft page fault.) If the page must be retrieved from disk, the fault is called a page fault.) The system also has a page on a file access error if the requested page is not found in the file system Cache and must be retrieved from storage. Counters page fault does not distinguish between hard and soft faults, so you must combine meter information to deduce the number of hard faults.
    To follow the pagination, log the following counters: memoire\ of Page/s, memoire\/s Cache faults defects and memoire\ reading of pages/sec. The first two of them follow the working sets and the file system Cache. Contributes to the counter of page reads you following hard page faults: a high rate of page faults associated with a high rate of page reads (as highlighted in the disk counters) indicates a high rate of hard faults. with
    Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
    I do not want I want to have two operating systems
    Now, I have a 25 GB Partion ready for Windows 7, I only have Vista currently.
    Apparently XP32Bit can dual boot with win7 64-bit but can vista 32 bit?
    There will be problems with a Dual Boot Vista/Win7?

    Hello

    You must ensure that 64-bit Windows 7 drivers are available from the manufacturer of your computer for all the hardware, or it will not work properly.

    And is the same for your printer, etc.

    Read this tutorial on dual boot them, including system requirements:

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/5166-dual-boot-installation-Windows-7-Vista.html

    See you soon.

    p.s. We need a full license of Windows for two operating systems, as upgrade does not here apply.
