Malfunction of Windows Security Center
After uninstalling Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) v4.2.223.0 from my PC at home running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Premium (32 bit), error messages following are noted:
1 action Center alerts me to a red X to activate the Windows Security Center. However, the Windows Security Center service cannot be started on the local computer with error code 5: access is denied.
2. execution of a command - c:\windows\system32\winmgmt/verifyrepository, it shows that the WMI repository verification failed with error code 0 x 80041003 and access denied.
Even I'm trying to re - install my PC with MSE, error code 0 x 80070645 stop and proceed with the installation.
I appreciate it much if any technical advice will be given soon. I suspect that MSE may have a problem because my home PC is not detected any malware or spyware, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware.

does anyone know why my Security Center can't turn on showe just me a message (windows Security Center cannot be started) what can I do for this?
If someone help me I thank a lot.
Hi belizariocruz cruz,.
· You receive an error with the message code?
· What is the operating system installed on the computer?
This problem may occur if the Security Center service is not configured to run under the Local Service account, but the dependent services are configured to run under the Local Service account.
Note: The following can be used for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Method 1: To resolve this problem, make sure that the Security Center Service and all its dependencies are configured to run under the Local Service account. Set the center of security and its dependencies services to run under the Local Service account.
a. Click Start, type services.msc and press to enter.
b. double-click Security Center, click on tab log .
c. Select "this account" click on the Browse button, type Local Service and click ok.
d. type the password and confirm the password and click ok.
Method 2: You can run the Microsoft Safety Scanner for any infection by virus. Check out the following link to do the same thing.

Windows Security Center Service & Windows Update does not
I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I have two problems.
- Windows Security Center service is turned off and will not turn on.
- Windows Update cannot check updates "because the service is not running.
I tried many patches that I found on the forums of Windows and nothing has worked. I have no virus and no malware on the system.
I appreciate all the new ideas! Thank you.
Symantec Endpoint Protection is installed and updated by our company server. Which covers the spyware.
For more assistance, contact your COMPUTER or SysAdmin.
PS: I think you'll find that Symantec Endpoint Protection is ineffective when it comes to detect & remove "spyware." Unlike Norton SOHO apps, MS does not include a component anti-spyware.

Removal of the false malware products of the windows Security Center
I use Vista Home Premium on my laptop and my AVG expired a few weeks ago. I went online and accidentally bought and installed a fake AV program, called Antivir solution Pro. I didn't know it was a bad program until I started getting all sorts of viruses and malicious messeges also everything I did and use. I tried to uninstall this thing with little success. I have downloaded and run STOPzilla and it found and removed 337 threats. I also downloaded AVG again. However, in the Security windows malware protection sectionoif, my protection antivirus says not compatible and shows that this "Antivir Solution Pro is still on but is its status as Windows Security Center in a format that is no longer supported". Defender scan shows pick up nothong. I tried to install AVG and it tells me to uninstall this program for optimal performance, but when I click on the button uninstall I can't find this Antivir anywhere in the list. I run the Microsoft Windows malicious software removal tool now. What can I do if not find something?
I can not as up-to-date definitions for Defender. I tried to download them from the microsoft Web site, but I don't think it worked because I always get the message. Is this related?
Alaska,

What is the Windows Security Center and is compatible with Avast antivirus Protection?
I installed a paid for version of Avast on my Windows XP computer. (I won't be upgrading to a more modern version of Windows.)
I also called Windows Security Center.
Is the Windows Security Center virus protection, or is it simply a place to control and discover whatever you have antivirus protection?
If it is a virus protection, it would hurt Avast and if so can I uninstall it?
If I removed Avast and didn't have Windows Security Center, I should any type of protection against viruses on my computer?
The only type of protection against viruses in addition to Avast, I am sure that I have on my computer is Windows Firewall. I turned that off and am now strictly protected by the firewall of Avast. Windows Security Center notifies me of cannot have two firewalls upwards at the same time.
If Windows Security Center antivirus protection it would do no harm to leave it on if the firewall is disabled and Avast is installed? Part of Windows Firewall Security Center Windows or another program?
Guesses are welcome. Thank you.
Hey there Clinton!
I've identified two questions here, your normal text questions and my answers in bold:
Is the Windows Security Center virus protection, or is it simply a place to control and discover whatever you have antivirus protection?
Windows Security Center is not a virus protection it's just simply a place to control and view the status of the installation of malware * protection software, but also the firewall on your computer.
Part of Windows Firewall Security Center Windows or another program?
Windows Firewall is a separate component.
Does Avast! Damaged, if I have another antivirus running program?
It is not clear what might happen, but software may conflict with each other and may not work as expected.
I hope that I have answered all your questions!
Sincerely,
-Alex* - Malware is the generic term for all malicious software in the calculation. The virus is actually a sub-category.

Windows Security Center gives me a "alert" that my anti-virus is disabled. I have Win XP Professtional and'm running Windows defender and Microsoft Security Essentials times which I recently uninstalled, restarted the computer and reinstalled more updated. I read related security problems, but I have not found a match. I have a screenshot of the Win Security Center Alert, but unable to attach. It is said: ' Windows found multiple antivirus programs on this computer, but they all report that they could be updated or disabled. " Click on the recommendations for suggested actions... [what I did without success, i.e. update. «[I uninstalled, stop, rebooted and reinstalled and updated]»
When I shoot to the top of MSE it says, "protection is enabled, and updated definitions.
Windows Defender said: "Nothing detected" and "computer running normally."
Before the uninstall and update, I ran System Mechanic from Iolo, who has done wonders for speed.
Norman
When it comes to antivirus software, you want one and only one installed and running on your computer. Two or more may come into conflict with eachother and degrade performance. I advise you to uninstall Windows defender and use soley mse.
also I strongly suggest that you avoid using "PC optimization" tools. They can help a little, but they often do more harm than good.
