Malfunction Outlook Express Mail: Website Page Message: overflow line 0

Whenever I have delete a group of messages on Outlook Express, it freezes the whole page, & said

Message from the Web page: overflow in line 0?
Help! Suggestions?

Are you sure that's the exact message? Outlook Express is not using a Web page or something to do with the Internet.

Follow these steps to fix all the possible corruption of dbx files.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and move the messages you want to record off deleted items, and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

Compact all folders as described below.

To avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

    When I went to open Outlook Express a pop-up message reported a problem and said he had to close (which is).  Since then, I was unable to open my mail.  What can I do?

    original title: exit express does not open.  What can I do?

    If Outlook Express does not open, Folders.dbx is corrupt.

    The path to the message will be very similar to this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

    With OE closed, find the Folders.dbx file and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

    Note these possible side effects:

    When you re - start OE, it will build a new index of all *.dbx files it can read and create a new Folders.dbx. However, understand that you will lose the mail directory structure and message rules will probably have to be edited.

    I've never used Snapfish, but I don't see where this has nothing to do with Outlook Express, an e-mail client. While glancing at their website, it seems that you download photos from your computer as you would to Photobucket or SkyDrive, you do not send by e-mail their. You should not need to use any e-mail program to achieve this.

  • I use XP and when I try to open Outlook Express I get this message. "Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE." DLL could not be initialized. Outlook Express is not installed properly

    Last night, everything seemed normal. When I try to open Outlook Express, I get this message. "Outlook express could not be started.  The application could not open message store outlook express.  Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full.  Contact Microsoft Support for assistance. (0x800700C1, 193) "after this message, the message above was posted. I bought and ran a program called FixCleaner with the same results. I also cleaned my disk and more 66 G remains to use and have a lot of available memory.

    Thank you all for your help, but I gave up and took it to my computer guru and fixed it. He said there where a few old accounts in the computer and registry was messed up and it solved the problem and now it works.

    THANKS again!

    If you can, open OE and click file | Identities and establish a new identity.  Then see if it works.  If you can not open OE to do this, then move all the dbx files to another directory of their current location.  To reset the message store, which you should be able to open OE then.

  • Computer died. Past from Windows XP to Vista. Lost Outlook Express mail folders. Not in Windows Mail. (Got 3 months of e-mail entering the transfer.) I can't the old Outlook Express files?

    This is my first posting. Don't know how much has appeared in the "title". Computer died. Past from Windows XP to Vista. Lost Outlook Express mail folders. Not in Windows Mail. (Got 3 months of e-mail entering the transfer.) I can't the old Outlook Express files?

    Have I lost the files of Outlook Express completely or is there a way that I can import them in the same way that e-mail came? My old computer died (power source grilled or something like that). I still have it, but no way to turn it on.

    If you can access the old hard drive PC you can get the data of Outlook Express store.  See this: http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx or this: http://www.insideoe.com/backup/ Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

  • Need to know in detail how to get my Pop3 outlook express mail on windows 7

    Just graduated from XP to the new windows 7 and I need to know how to get my Outlook Express mail.  Need to know how to set up Pop 3.   Reading a few forums, I think the knuckleheads who put this windows 7 as a whole did not anyway to do unless you're a computer expert.   I would have been much better served if they would have put the old XP back on this new computer.   I'm an old PET of 69 year who knows nothing about setting up these things, and unless someone can come in here and talk to me with every little detail step by step what to click on it and where to find it in detail.  It will never happen.  If you would be grateful someone with this kind of knowledge back to me.  Thank you

  • When Outlook Express Mail compose the cursor suddenly starts moving across the page.

    When I'm composing an e-mail on Outlook Express if I stop for a moment the cursor starts to move across the page. I can stop by clicking 'End', but soon he begins to do it again.

    My OS is Windows XP and my version of OE 6. IE version is 8.

    If it is a laptop, make sure that you not brush your hand against the touchpad. If it isn't, try a new identity.

    You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identities | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

    Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

  • Outlook Express: Shortcut in "Tools/Message rules/Mail" Possible?

    I discovered ways to create shortcuts to a large number of Windows functions, so that I don't have to click on the menus and submenus to make things happen, for example 'Safely Remove Hardware' is:

    "Shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe '.

    But I always applied the rules of messages manually to empty my OE Inbox. It is click on ' Tools / Message rules / Mail', followed by 'Apply now' and selecting what rules I want to apply for.

    Is there a way to get this function works with a single click - a 'shortcut '?

    Best regards, Roger.

    Sorted! Thanks to AutoHotkey.com :)

    I wrote a macro that checks if OE is running, and if not the macro runs it. Then the macro activates the window and sends alt - T, R, M, and alt - A. Job done!

    The Windows key + SPACEBAR active macro:

    #space:
    IfWinExist Inbox - Outlook Express
    {
    WinActivate
    }
    on the other
    {
    Run "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe".
    WinWait Inbox - Outlook Express
    WinActivate
    }
    Send! T R M! A
    Return
