malware has damaged, is there a system to SP3 File Checker

This would be true practice to add to the difficulty It Center. Most of the people not the SP3 update online and the their CD SP2 System File Checker will not work.

Specifically, all my USB drives will launch is more like a real storage unit unless I restart the computer in the diagnosis of msconfig startup.  I have various blue screen of death crash, especially when the search indexer is running, or the computer launches a windows update.  There were several problems of malware found by a number of cleaning products, all are now indicating a clean computer, but the damage is done.  SFC SP2 indicate a number of places during the scan, he wants to get a new file from my XP Pro CD, but does not recognize the CD as the current operating system.  I expect that new operating system would have a procedure to check and repair/replace its files.

Your expectations exceed reality.

If you reinstall XP and then download and install SP3 and then reinstall all your apps again and then restore your backup of the data, you still won't be able to run sfc/scannow, use your SP2 CD in the future.

The best option is if you have a genuine XP installation bootable CD with a plu SP is to do a new installation CD that has SP3 'slipstreamed' inside so what comes out the other end is a new installation of XP you create will be integrated into SP3.  You must already have a genuine XP bootable installation CD to do this.

What you end up with is a XP installation CD with SP3 integrated into it (and you can book your old version).  Which will make happy sfc/scannow, sfc/scannow is not for fixing problems on a system.  sfc/scannow is designed to run only once when you install XP to populate the folder dllcache with a list of 3498 system protected files which are backups in the case where a protected file come missing later on your system.  That's what all this.  It is not to solve problems, unless your problem is that your dllcache folder must be updated, or your problem is you have too much time and need to lose some of them.

Here's a method that works the first time if you follow the directions:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/slipstreaming-Windows-XP-to-create-bootable-CD/

Here's another:

http://Lifehacker.com/386526/slipstream-Service-Pack-3-into-your-Windows-XP-installation-CD

If you do a search on Google for something like:

Slipstream XP

you will find other methods.

If you run sfc/scannow to completion and you have all the pieces in place, it should find nothing to do.   It ' feels 'good when it is running and can't find anything to do well. "

However, even if you break your system on purpose to remove or damage a file in the dllcache folder and sfc/scannow is a file in the dllcache folder that needs to be replaced and replace it (it IS what it is), you won't know about it since the only thing you will see when the Observer newspaper is that :

Event type: Information
Event source: Windows File Protection
Event category: no
Event ID: 64016
Analysis of file File Protection Windows has been started.

Event type: Information
Event source: Windows File Protection
Event category: no
Event ID: 64017
Windows File Protection file analysis completed successfully.

Even if sfc/scannow finds something to do, you will never know about it.  It is not his goal.  Its purpose is to populate the dllcache folder.  In the above example, sfc/scannow replaced the 2 files that I've damaged on purpose for a mission of training and test, but you won't see anything about this in the case where log Viewer.

When you did, come back with your other questions and we can see i we can solve.

XP Professional 5.1.2600 Pack 3. Automatic updates are on. After that an automatic update on Mei and June 2012 identified as Software Distribution Service 3.0 my wallpaper, all my documents, my videos, my photos, my desktop shortcuts, etc. all gone. has had to do a system restore. How can I avoid this in the future?

Software distribution service 3.0 is a system restore point, not an update.

When an update is installed a SDS is created.

To check the name of the update, go to the Microsoft Update Web site and check your update history, search for the date, that the error occurred.

Also make sure that your system is clean:

Download, install, update and scan with these full free malware detection programs:

  • the ibm product recovery feature has been removed from this system

I have a thinkpad R51, and recently, I decided to reset to the factory settings. However, I also had installed linux and when I tried this it has failed and to restart, there was a grub error. As I was doing before, I put a CD in XP randomly and did a fixmbr, but this time, when I tried to restart the entire disk had disappeared. So now, windows no longer existed. Then I installed linux again and followed the instructions here: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Rescue_and_Recovery to allow grub to access the partition rescue and recovery and tried again.

However, this time when I click on the "content of factory restore", all I get is a saying "the recovery of product feature ibm has been removed from this system"

Is it still possible to reset this top of the Tower, or I have to install my own OS as if he is not a thinkpad?

  • System Restore has been disabled by your system administrator

    Problem of administrater

Hello all, I thought that my problem was a simple one but not so much. I am logged on as administrator Windows 7 Ultimate, I went to restore my system files and is turned off by mistake, while I thought was not a problem, I knew not that it deletes the system restore all files, so here I am again to make it back on and guess what, it is said that the administrator should be informed that they are off their After trying several ways to achieve this, I resorted to no protection on my UAC, it has not helped, tried a new UAC which did not help either, so now I'm on my hands and knees hoping someone out there can help, after such a simple mistake that I was allowed to do because I was Admin , I went to not even be able to system restore back on without contact my administrator! Is any way around this, there must surely be, any help would be greatly apreciated.

    Steve.

    Hi Steve,.

Step 1: Use the Group Policy Editor

    a. Click Start, type gpedit.msc and press ENTER

    b. go to the following branch: Computer Configuration | Administrative templates | System | System restore

    c. double click on disable the Configuration and set it to not configured.

Note: If the above setting is already set to not configured, set it to "Enabled" and click on apply. Return back the setting to not configured, then click on apply, OK.

    d. Quit Group Policy Editor.

If using the Group Policy Editor do not fix the problem, try the registry fix from the following.

Step 2: Using the registry editor

Important: The below mentioned method contains steps that tell you how to change the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    (c) in the right pane, delete the value named DisableConfig

    d. Quit Registry Editor.

    e. restart the computer and check

  • Is there a system of electronic commerce, where you can transfer money to a bank account, rather than pay cash immediately?

Is there a system of electronic commerce, where you can transfer money to a bank account, instead of paying the money immediately?

It is about 6 trips (6 products) that my client has been designed to get as an e-commerce site, but travel is very expensive, it's too expensive to use paypal for example because they take so fresh (, for example a trip cost $2950, and paypal take fees of 2.9%, and if peopele 50 buy this trip--paypal will be 2.9% of the §147.500 - and it's a lot of money)

So we look for an alternative.

It could just be an e-commerce system, where the buyer choose their trip - and press 'buy' and then go all the way to the extraction and to pay - but then it would be responsible to transfer the money to a bank account, and when the money is transferred to the seller, the customer get their ticket.

This is a complete scam.  You can report it to your local police.

For your own protection, you should:
    • Change your passwords on email accounts, accounts financial and sensitive to which accounts you access online from this PC.  RIGHT NOW!
    • Run a full scan of your PC using your antivirus application...    Also download and run a full scan with Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free edition).  MBAM is a very good solution in addition to your primary backup antivirus/antimalware application.
    • I would also go here: https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Shared/Help.aspx and follow the advice of "I think that my PC is infected", including potentially calls MS help.
    • Above all, do not delay!  If you have any concerns about the handling of it, then disconnect your computer from the internet and call MS before anything else.
