    I have a bb bold 9780, just updated to 6.0 - bundle2921 on the advice of someone at rogers technical support.  It's a phone Bell, get it unlocked with the network mep code. When I tried to set up the e-mail, he said:-"your device had a problem connecting to the server."     First things first... If this BB is now or ever was associated by BES (since you said 'business',) then that must first be broken before you try anything else... the symptoms you describe are usually a BB sign that was once associated with BES, but the it policy was not properly cleaned. See this to verify:

    If that turns out to be true and you are sure that you are not now a BES user to 100% (for example, you got this BB 2nd hand and the previous owner has had not the it policy, but they "divorce" it from the BES server), then you can clean it with this procedure:

    • KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

    Take account of the warning... and therefore the reason why I said to do this first before trying anything else, because this will completely WIPE the BB clean, returning as long as "new factory", but the it policy will be gone.

    If you have data that you need to keep, then by all means do a backup first... but, when you restore, DO NOT do a restore roughly... If you do, you simply put it on board policy... rather choose you need when you restore specific databases, avoiding in particular those that have something to do with politics.

  • Email - pop3 - valid - bis - blackBerry Smartphones do not receive emails

    I'm new to blackberry and I have a new storm 9500 series of verizon.  I have installation three (personal) e-mail - a yahoo mail and two POP3 accounts.  My yahoo account seems to work perfectly, but the other two pop3 do not seem to receive at all.

    Here are the details:

    (1) I have set up all three through the device

    (2) when the pop3 were not working after the initial validation, I contacted the technical support of Verizon and they informed me on the BIS website.

    (3) I've deleted my pop3 accounts and rebuilt the BIS Web site and post them without problem

    (4) I received my validation messages on both accounts pop3 without problem

    (5) I got one or two test messages for each pop3 account

    (6) shortly after, I stop receiving all messages for pop3 accounts.

    ((7) repeat steps 3)-6)

    Finally, I went to the websites of these two providers of Internet services and looking for something special for blackberry support and can't find anything substantial.  I am at a loss.  There is no configuration of filters and I checked the box to forward the e-mail to the device.

    I think that I thought about it.  But to answer your question, Yes, I always send Service books to update my BIS accounts.

    So, I use the simple Outlook Express on a PC "always on" at home.  It seems that my two ISP in question send a copy of the e-mail to BIS timely so my client at home receives emails before they are sent to BIS.  In the my client ADVANCED options, I had to put my messages to be left on the server for a day to give enough time for the e-mail accounts that you want to synchronize with Blackberry.  It seems that there is a lag of 10 minutes to receive emails on my client vs my device.  I tested this all day with good results.  So, originally I had my emails being rubbed server after childbirth.  What they obviously not send to the BIS and my client at the same time to give of their time to the process seem to be the thing.

    You are on a BES or using a BIS Service?

    If your are on a BES (receipt of professional emails on your device), the administrator can block the ability to send sms messages.

    Who stopped at the option to "compose sms".

    Hi, I have just purshaced new Blackberry Mobile (Open) Dubai - UNITED Arab Emirates and its writes about this at & t, they've said that its opening and I can use it in any country a BB services.

    I would use the phone without a subscription to Blackberry serive, however, it seems that there is a serious problem in my cell phone.

    Usually you can use the internet service in any mobile here via GPRS, but my mobile problem is as follows:

    -Browser icon is not available and when I click on the switch application and then, browser, I get the following error message:

    your device does not currently have entries in the directory service configuration any browser

    I contacted my service provider in the country, and they told me that you don't need any subscription if you need the internet fair eyebrows and they suggested to go to the blackberry support center to solve my problem.

    I went to the support center and they told me that there are so many missing configuration in my blackberry and they didn't know what to do with my cell phone.

    I did a reset to my mobile, but this does not solve the problem.

    Is there anyway that I can solve my problem?

    I have a small problem, if we can look at this problem. When I from an SMS from a friend X, my Blackberry lag (the screen does not change, as 0.5 sec). But when I have from a TEXT we will tell Y, this can take up to 5-10 seconds before the passage of the screen or I can move with the touch pad to display the message. It's boring.

    This is so I think it's because...:

    -J' have more than 35,000 SMS in the comic book?

    -J' have like 5000 and 100 SMS from X to Y?

    Hi there David (Squad-G) and welcome to the forums.

    I think you've actually already nailed the reason for the delay.  If you have 100 SMS from X and 5000 of is your BB has problems of handling all the messages in the database.

    Do you want that all these SMS?  If you do not need to keep them all on your device, then consider your SMS database backup and delete older messages that you no longer need to keep.  At least that way, you can still have a record of your SMS messages, but they need not be slow down your phone.

    I think you need to call your provider with this information.

    You know someone else who uses the same carrier as your hubsand?  I was wondering if you could send a test text.

    I bet you get the same error when replying the text you receive from him?  You can also try a battery pull... You never know.  Better yet, make a blackberry and use BBM!

    Where are abouts you located? Some regions have had problems with the services of BlackBerry, and while SMS should not be touched, I read that some users have had problems. But in the meantime, here are a couple of things to try:

    From about 12:30 last night my BBM messages stopped to deliver, it was more than 24 hours. Figure it would work perhaps himself, but there not yet and scans of Twitter and forums don't seem to be indicating any type of problem.

    It was working properly until then, conversations were going back, then he just started giving checkmarks only but not d I am able to receive BBM surveys in real time. See the other side of D, but even if I read them he won't R.

    I just bought a new Curve 9300 - love him to pieces.  Except apparently when I'm Texting there is a signature.  I find this a bit concerning because I never put my SMS to get a signature.

    I have 5 text that say they are "waiting".  I can't delete them and so 5 messages continue to appear on my homescreen like new.

    I actually had the messages deleted, but my home page continues to show that there are messages.

    Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

    Try these options:
    The main Messages folder and select today's date, click on the menu button and then select Mark prior opened.
    * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
    Messages > saved Messages
    Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
    * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
    Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
    * Connect to Desktop Manager > backup/restore > advanced. On the right pane is the list of the data on your device. Scroll to the e-mail highlighted messages database, and then below, select TRANSPARENT. This will clear your system of all messages.
    * Clean and reload your OS.

    I.E. I can't get an email on my bb for this account.  But my other emails come very well.
