Manually change the IP address on 8500 A909g

After the 8500 A909g printer has been turned off for a few days, the program on my computer HP solutions Center portable 32-bit Vista now displays a message 'disconnected '. The IP address is now 169.254.184.17

By HP, troubleshooting instructions and messages in this forum, paste this IP address in the address bar of IE or Firefox only returns with "page not found". Downloaded and run the HP diagnostic utility, but it did not detect the printer even though I tried several buttons refresh or other buttons on the screen 'advanced tools '.

Tried to change to a static IP address to the printer via the front panel of the printer (configuration-> network-> Advanced Setup-> IP settings-> manual) but ran into an obstacle because I can't change successfully '184' to a '0' or the 174' to a single digit for the sequence with the IP address of 192.168.0.1 Dlink router

The window of manual reset IP address has only the number keys and no button 'Clear' or 'delete' to get rid of the extra numbers.

I'm not computer literate, so I do not understand why another round of office seems to print just fine with a completely different performance of IP address for the printer, one that falls not in the familiar format 4 part mentioned above.

I was able to create an address IP of DHCP reservation on my router and the printer works now. I'm a bit difficult to know if I should also go to the Web server embedded HP to change the networking > connections > Wired > Setup manual IP address and enter the IP address/Subnet Mask / Gateway default numbers printed on the HP Network Configuration Page that I printed in the menu touchscreen printer. I have to also then change from automatic to manual DNS server?

Thanks for any further help.

  • Photosmart HP 6520: lost my photosmart 6520 by manually changing the server address

    Hello
My printer is connected wireless and prints well by AirPrint and when I send it jobs by email, but after successfully scanning to e-mail several times it suddenly wouldn't connect to the Internet, which gives an error message. Tried to turn it works several times. Leva help on the forum and follow-up of boards to manually change the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 another server. This resulted in my losing access to my printer via his IP on my browser so I can't undo my actions and my printer always gives the error message when I ask him to scan to e-mail. All other functions work.
    Help, please. Thank you

    Hey @Kybosh,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I understand that you are having connectivity problems with your HP Photosmart e-all-in-one 6520, printer.  I want to help you with this.

I'm surprised that a manual DNS has interfered with your setup - I think generally it does the opposite and enhances connectivity.  In any case, do not despair!   I have some suggestions that can restore the features of your printer.

I recommend a fresh start by restoring the default settings of your printer to avoid any persistent configuration problem.  Here's how:

    • Front panel of the printer, press the key
    • Touch tools
    • Touch Restore Factory Defaults
    • * Note that this will reset your settings wireless and webservices.  If you have an address custom ePrint it is deleted permanently.  Click here for more information about setting up a custom address ePrint.

With your restored default settings, continue on as indicated:

    • Touch the wireless icon ()
    • Run the Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect to your network (SSID)
    • Enter the wireless password if prompted
    • Once you have created a wireless connectivity, reactivate your webservices/ePrint feature (essential for the use of scan to e-mail)
    • Tap the icon of webservices ()
    • Enable Web services and press OK to enable your printer will automatically update
    • Once completed, it will print a page of information.  If you are looking to complete an ePrint installation, it will be useful later - click here for more information.

Now, if all goes well you can rebuild your Setup email scan:

    • Tap the scan icon
    • Tap the scan to E-mail
    • Enter your personal email address
    • Retrieve the PIN code of your Inbox
    • Enter the PIN on your requested to complete printer installation

The above restore the functionality you were missing?

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to give me a virtual h.o.t. by clicking on the 'Thumbs Up' icon below.

Please post in the Forum of HP's Support and have a great day!

  • Manually change the MAC address

    Hello

a client needs to keep the same MAC address for a virtual computer in its vCenter to import into his org in vCD.

Because this server has an application and that its license is tied to the MAC address, they must keep the original MAC address. I know that I can make this request on vCenter, but not through vCD.

Is there some sort of workaround?

    Thank you.

Maybe you can try to do it with PowerCLI.

  • Why my officeject hp 4500 continue to change the ip address?

When my officeject hp 4500 goes to sleep and I try to print it doesn't work because it changed the ip address.  I then have to remove and reinstall.  How can I fix?

It depends on the model of the router.

Assuming you have a House with a router, connect as admin (the installer first person the router must have the password). list of connected devices, if there is a next button that said 'reserve ip address', click next to the printer, and you are finished.

If none of these butotn, you will need the manual for the router, that show you how to assign the ip address fixed.

  • How to change the IP address...

I have a Samsung printer that is connected to the network via ethernet to my WRT150N cable.  However, the printer says IP address conflict, and I finally understood why the printer does not appear on the other computers, the IP address of the printer itself is192.168.1.104.  However, the router has the printer listed to 192.168.1.103 so my question is how do I go about changing the IP address, either in the printer or router.  The 192.168.1.104 is already listed in the router as an IP address for my daughter's iTouch.  Thanks much for any help you can provide...

Fixed use booking of DHCP on the router in order to reserve an IP address for your printer via the web interface of the router at http://192.168.1.1/ see the manual (available online) for more details.

  • Old PITA bread - change the MAC address in VMware Workstation 6.5?

Some versions of VMware Workstation enabled to manually set the MAC address of the virtual card.

This possibility has been changed for several reasons.

My personal opinion is clear.  A virtual machine needs to reflect as much as possible a hardware machine.

VMware Workstation you can not change the MAC address, or you are related to a limited possibility, were the first hex addresses are fixed,

so that it shows on the outside, it is a virtual machine.  VMware response is, you must run the server edition.  Well...

Currently, I have seen, that the recent version of Virtual Box allows you to manually enter the MAC address

for the virtual Interfaces based on Intel NIC. You can enter any MAC address, including existing material, NIC Intel MAC.

So my opinion, the possibility of lock-out to COMPLETELY change the mac address of the virtual machine,

must be activated again for all versions of VMware, as it is the option with other software.

HM?  As far as I know, we have not added any restrictions.  We do not provide a user interface for it, but manually modifying the .vmx file and change ethernet0.addressType and ethernet0.address to a MAC from another provider address seem to work for me.

I don't think the static MAC addresses are actually limited to the 00:50:56 range.

  • Manually change the brightness on the display screen.

How to change the brightness when the blue Fn key don't decrease the screen brightness but don't don't increase the brightness of the screen.  How to manually change the brightness of the screen without the keyboard shortcut keys (they do not work)?

Depends on the brand and model of your laptop. Did you install drivers from the manufacturer, or done it with XP (assuming that you do not have XP) pre-installed. For example, on my Gateway laptop, Fn + F8 lights up the screen, and then if I press it again, it fades. Or with keys Fn + I can brighten it gradually, and Fn + darkens it gradually.

You can figure out or dim the monitor in the video control panel (again, this depends on the manufacturer of card or portable video). Right-click on your desktop and choose Properties. Then go to settings, advanced and then (probably) the video card/chipset that is installed. Somewhere there may be settings to adjust the brightness or gamma of the display. Without knowing your material, I can't say for sure, but it would be the starting point.

You can change the name in the registry

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\ {6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} \0000]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\ {6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} \0001]

    ...

This was very helpful, it was so close, I'm sure you would have found eventually.  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I had the same problem with my CM 1312nfi and here is the solution:

    Access

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\ {6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} \0001\DeviceData]

Confirm the REG_SZ named CUEDeviceID is the device that you want to change.

    Updated the REG_SZ named NetworkDeviceID...

Change the IP address in the string to the new IP address

    for example. \hostname:NPI74FF08\ipaddr:192.168.0.25\guid:\macaddr:00237D74FF08\port:1

Change the REG_SZ named PortID to the new IP address.

    Record.

You should be good to go, try scanning, it worked for me.

Remember, «it can't be done, reinstall...» ", is never the right answer.
