Mata * beep * keeps losing dvd player

My dvd player disappears from the window 'my computer '.  The reader is turned on but does not appear in Device Manager.  Months, what has happened and hp sent me a solution of regedit.  I don't have this solution more and I don't know what the cause of the problem.  System Restore will not do.  Help?

If the drive is not found anywhere in Device Manager, then you encounter a possible hardware/connection failure.  Try to turn off the laptop, remove the battery and then out the CD/DVD drive and reinsert.  Then back - turn on the laptop and test it.

You also need to update your BIOS to the latest version on your software and drivers download page.

If the device not found rest, either the drive is dead or the controller on the motherboard is bad and will require the replacement or service.

  • Stuttering, beeps and the DVD Player lost on Satellite M40 149

    Hello

For some time now the laptop will work ok for about 1 to 2 hours, and then all of a sudden the speakers start making random pitch high bleeps distorted very strong. When it starts, the system starts stuttering. Every 2 seconds or so it will freeze for about 1/4 of a second. All treatments freezes - including the sounds and display. It's annoying, but generally a slight Jolt sorts it...

When this happens occasionally the DVD player will also disappear, and I need to reboot to get it back. Sometimes I need to leave it off for a short time so I think it's perhaps something to do with overheating?

In any case, my main problem now is that the DVD drive is very rarely now. I used a few tools of analysis of the firmware and the connection to the drive port is present but the laptop cannot connect to it. I thought that maybe s DVD firmware update can fix this, but I couldn't yet.

I couldn't find all the previous reports of the present. Anyone has any idea what this could be? Or how I can fix this?

If she came, I'd be happy to buy an external DVD drive, but the presence of the bad connection interferes with some other tasks, I have...

    Thank you

  • Install on MacBook Air - DVD player not recognized

    Strange problem.

Just picked up my MacBook Air today and went to install VMWare Fusion.  Plugged in an optical dvd/cd drive and it is recognized by OSX - the disc appears on the desktop and I can navigate it very well.

I launch Fusion and he sees not the drive - no button continue unless I keep the DVD player.  The second screen does not see the CD/DVD.

What I am doing wrong?  Seems if OSX saw the disc, it would be the merge.  It's a serious iso on a DVD of MSDN Windows 7 x 64.

Going along for an hour trying to understand this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

She was told that I need to run vmware, rather than worrying with bootcamp or parallels.

    Thank you!
    JOHN

HM, test this point, I expected it to work, but in my results, I was not able to make reognized on my MacBook Air.

I tested and then on one of our test machines (which is a bit outdated, running 10.6.5 and missing the update of the firmware to 2.0 EFI) and it worked.

We have improved this test to 10.6.6 machine and it no longer works.

So it seems that Apple has changed something, and who broke our EasyInstall to physical DVD drive detection.

Therefore, you can create a disk image using disk utility and install using that for now until we work with Apple in order to understand who has bug is.

Here's our KB for how to do this:

    Thanks for any help.

I believe that ALL these CD/DVD drives have a fixed maximum number of times you are allowed to change the 'place '. I believe that ALL are set to allow the buyer to moved '5' time max. After you change the location for the 5th time - that's all. Location what ever you changed for a 5th time is the location that is locked and can NOT BE MODIFIED, SIMPLY. However, you can buy another CD/DVD drive, and this new drive would allow you to another location 5 changes. On your PC, you should not encounter problems when and if you decide to buy a new CD/DVD drive. Only the car is affected and becomes "locked" after the change of location 5.

This usually isn't a problem unless you're a travelor and buy media (CD/DVD) from different parts of the world. If this is your problem (trip), you can avoid having to change your situation in order to be able to use a certain code of place for this part of the world. All you have to do is to bring a lot of media from your original location and use this setting when traveling instead of buying the media (CD/DVD) in different places/regions of the world.

What I say above applies to instructions of the manufacturer. You will not be able to find a form of CD/DVD any manufacturer that allows you coontinually change the location code. It was initially created to help reduce the copyright, brand, etc... questions from anywhere in the world from the manufacturer.

Hope that this helps a bit and gives you a better understanding as to what this 'rent' option is and how you are allowed to edit.

  • Screen keeps flashing using a Toshiba DVD player

My DVD player plays DVD video but the screen still flashes, can anyone help please?

You have an Intel graphics card?

Well, if yes then I know what could be the problem.

Primarily this question didn t appear initially. Am I wrong?

The problem is that the automatic update of Vista installed has installed a new version of the graphics driver on your laptop. To my knowledge, this could affect the Toshiba DVD player.

You must remove the installed graphics driver and should install one on the page of the Toshiba driver that is compatible with your laptop series.

  • Satellite P105 carpet * a dvd player does not work with Win 7

    Greetings,

I need an upgrade on my dvd to my vintage Satellite P105.
I want the possible fastest dvd burner right now because I'm a fan of film and keep them in digital memory.

    (1) first should I get an external drive or can I get the best performance with an internal dvd replacement of a reseller of parts or Toshiba?

The problem is when I've upgraded to windows 7 things have changed. I lost my sound, but that solved using a driver inherited Visa as apparently the sound 'Council' on the laptop is for Vista only. Then I found the dvd player which is a mitsu * an internal UJ-450 does not or is extremely slow in saving films, records or files. The available recording software seems also planned for Vista performance was acceptable. Even the dvd burning software does not work.

    (2) so my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?

    (3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or

    (4) to make the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?

    (5) given an internal dvd is preferable, because it's exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.

    (6) most importantly, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

Of course, if you could give me a model number and direct me to the sales it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    Rachel_1

    > 1) first of all I should go for an external drive or can I get optimal performance with a dvd replacement internal to a coin dealer or Toshiba?

You should know that not all internal STRANGE machines are compatible. You will need to use a not compatible and supported and such device could be ordered in a local ASP.
But it s more expensive as an external CD/DVD device so you could also choose an external that would be compatible with all computers and laptops available.

(> 2) so, my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?
As mentioned. Good option would be to buy an external burner drive ODD

(> 3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or
External device are compatible with all computers and are less expensive

(> 4) go to the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?
If you have the money for an internal device and want to use it with P105 only then you can also choose an internal burner.

(> 5) because a dvd internal is preferable, because it is exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.
As far as I know it s an IDE interface, but the device would support setting master or slave or c - salt. As mentioned, you can buy a Toshiba a recommended.

(> 6) especially, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

    Hello

I wonder why someone's trying to Flash the firmware of readers with another incompatible?  :| Which is really strange.

In any case, seems not good friend in my eyes you ve damage parameters of drives that makes the drive unusable.

Is Toshiba driver page doesn't provide a firmware that could help you to flash back settings, to be honest I don't think that you will be able to find a compatible it it s not available on the Web from Toshiba site

I think you the last option might be Toshiba authorized maintainer in your country.
An authorized service representative might be able to bring readers to life

    Hello

Seems that certain this kind of DVD is not fully compatible with this CD/DVD player
Sorry, but these issues are not uncommon that you will always encounter discs which are not totally compatible and that the readers of the laser lens is unable to handle this drive

But just a question; These films are created for the European region?
I mean there are different regions DVD

As far as I know the films for European needs region 2
The United States have need of region 1 and South American setting & Middle need area 4

So if you want to watch DVD designed for US then you need to change the region to 1 settings.

But note; You can change the region settings only 4 times then this parameters could be blocked, it is not possible to change it again

  • Satellite L750-16Z new DVD player

It keeps track of the post "Reader of DVD Satellite L750 - 16Z erratic behavior".

Dvd endless reason disc clicks have been resolved by turning off the Toshiba PC Health Monitor from startup in msconfig.

Now, if I go into Windows Media Player and play a .wmv file saved, the DVD drive clicks when a .wmv file is normally played only the first time. I think this may have something to do with the settings in Windows Media Player like VLC seems OK. Any ideas?

I could try to completely uninstall the PC Health Monitor - but before you do, I noticed that my version is 1.7.9.64M, but one on the Toshiba site is 1.7.4.64 and it doesn't seem to be a 1.7.9.64M to download for my model, in which case I wish to reinstall at a later date.

In the meantime, I turned off the DVD drive in Device Manager. I also wonder if it is possible to disable the DVD from the BIOS drive? This isn't an ideal solution, but should record the disc in the long term.

Not sure about this but it could be related to WMP if it appears only using WMP.

I guess that's the same version, however, on the page of the Toshiba driver you will find no more version that preinstalled on your laptop. so you will be able to always download the latest don t you worry about it you can uninstall this tool ;)

  • How to make compatible CD/DVD player on Satellite 5000-204

    Hi all

I see a thread on the replacement of CD/DVD drive on this laptop, but it was closed, so I write this post.
Most of the recent unit is to select "cable" type and will not be recognized many laptops Toshiba.

To fix that you should look for a disc for which you can find an update of firmware that change, that he either "reverse CSEL" type, Nec or Optiarc
If you buy a player that cannot recognize (like me) read below.

I have replaced the DVD-ROM/CD-RW unit with a Pioneer DVR - KD08 DVD burner.
This device is a "cable select" type (like most of the other recent unit) so we can't recognize this portable (and many other models from Toshiba). The solution is to connect the PIN 45 and 47 together on the disc or on the adapter connector (this second solution is simple).

If you look at the car by behind those pins are the second and third from the left on the top row of the pins of the connector.
The connector adapter, it is simpler connect these pins (carefully) with an iron solder directly on the circuit board.
Obviously on the circuit, the pins are the second and third from the right.
After that, the device will recognize ok.

    Hey Buddy

First of all thank you for the participation in the forum it of always nice to have users who shares experience and knowledge.

Thank you for this info how compatible CD/DVD player.
But to be honest I'm a bit skeptical because there is a chance that the player could be damage during this procedure.
If everyone could do but only at own risk!

Usually the compatible players are included in the user manual and it would be useful to take a look in the user manual before you buy a compatible player NOT ;)

    Cheers mate
