Material of Jabber

Hello

I have a question about Jabber for hardware support video.

I noticed a post as a question and answer forum States of forum post requirements for Jabber to work on a computer are as follows

Video

OpenGL 1.2 or later

Hardware support for DX8

Cameras

Camera of Cisco telepresence

Built in laptop or external camera USB camera

From my experience the results of the software greatly very dependent on the platform, so what I'd like to ask is this.

What should we do in case a system follows all of the above recommendations and the drivers have been updated to the latest version but still Jabber fails to install or does not account for the camera.

I expect a dxdiag capture would be needed and perhaps a debug of files of Jabber, but if Jabber client fails to install where this information is saved.

In addition, only Cisco recommended any specific manufacturer lists the graphics adapters and camera, I saw on the Cisco web site there is a list of support for the camera that has been tested.

See you soon

Dave

Thinking with portals

I think that video Jabber rarely moved. If this is the case, open evidence of the TAC. In the case of installation fails, I would write down any error message displayed.

OpenGL problem

What we have seen lately, is that some versions of screen readers are not updated for what is a set component update (background image) in OpenGL. The feature set is still OpenGL 1.2, but this means that an adaptert screen which supports OpenGL 1.2 not necessarily has the updated component and therefore Jabber video fails during startup (it's a little graphic before you start test)

I just ran a test on a Lenovo X 200 (Lenovo´s with Intel Mobile 4 grahics express chipset) are those that we have seen this failure on) with the following results:

  • 8.15.10.2021 out the NOT OK 14.12.2009
  • 8.15.10.2182 out OK 19.07.2010
  • 8.15.10.2413 out OK 03.06.2011
  • released 8.15.10.2555 19.10.2011 OK

To solve this problem

Windows Update

  • Many users report that they can use Windows Update to get the latest version of the driver. They need allow the 'update optional"to achieve this.

Manually install the Intel driver

We are anxious to know if the problem of graphics is seen on other platforms (in this case - that brand - operating system and driver versions). The component that has been upgraded is a common component used by many programs, so this isn't a problem of video Jabber, rather a driver problem (failure to update the component in the pilot by the seller)

Crashes

Accidents with re-product, a TAC case must be opened and it should be to answer the following questions:

  1. Is it repeatable? This can range from "Not at all" by "I don't know" to "Yes, every time."
  2. What are the steps needed to reproduce the crash?
  3. What kind of PC are we talking about? For the Mac, this will appear in the dump on the incident, but for Windows, a DxDiag.
  4. The error dialog that is generated by the operating system. Sometimes, when video Jabber / Movi breaks down, a notification window will appear telling you; It will also give a file name, error message, and line number. If possible, get a screenshot of it.
  5. A crash dump file. This contains information on code that was working at the time of the accident and will hopefully development enough information to fix it. Windows Error Reporting, Dr. Watson or OSX crash dump are nice to attach.

Cameras

You are right, there is a list of camera tested on Cisco.com:

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/endpoint/articles/cisco_telepresence_movi_tested_cameras_kb_377.shtml

I also know that Logitech C920 will work at Jabber video 4.5.

If you have a camera that should work but doesn´t: make sure that the camera works with other applications or with another PC to rule out the possibility that it s a camera or camera SW issue. Try to upgrade the software of the camera (if possible). If it s on the tested list - open evidence of the TAC. (Or better - buy a precision HD USB)

We have not all wrt the laptop manufacturer recommendations or the graphics drivers. The most important thing is the ability of the CPU and not the graphics card/GPU for the H264 encoding/decoding is done by the CPU. Running quick setup will provide, in many cases, an indication of what kind of PC performance is up to and how good that video it can produce.

I hope this helps.

If I find more wrt not installed I will update this post.

  • How can I get Jabber works on iPad without CUCM?

    Nice day

Question: How can I get Jabber works on iPad with TMS and VCS instead of CUCM?

    Material: TMS 14.5 with VCSC/VCSE X8.2.1 and TMSPE 1.0

Rarely Jabber is used on an iPad here for the last time we tested, it was probably more than a year and it worked great. I have a new request if and when you go to the store I notice the previous product working is no longer available and has changed for Cisco Jabber 11.0.3. I feel that this only works with CUCM.

Can someone tell me if it is possible to get this new application running without CUCM and rather through VCS /TMS? I tested a variety of attempts to connect to the new application and they are all lead to not being able to find a server. Cisco documentation is a bit complicated on this issue so I'm hoping someone here might have some experience with this.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
    Mike

The customer you are looking for is 'Cisco Jabber Video for iPad', which is what Jamie refers in its response.

However, the Jabber video for iPad is therefore more available for download, as it's end-of-sale (eos-eol-notice-c51-732786), this is because Apple requires that all their applications must be 64-bit, and it was not possible to update Jabber video application as 32-bit based.  In addition, in the case where you have the video Jabber for telepresence (Movi) customer is also EOS (eos-eol-notice-c51-732787).

Replacement for both video Jabber clients products are Cisco Jabber client (that you mention at the end of your message) with CUCM only, as call manager is management that moves to Cisco for call control.

  • Port SSL messages to jabber/gtalk does not stick

    Hi-

It is not purely associated with Sierra, as happening on El Cap.  The port default to Google talk is 5223, which is blocked in my company.  I had previously configured messages to use 443, which is not blocked (and supports gtalk).  But at some point during the last couple months, gtalk stopped linking to work.  When I looked at it, she returned to 5223.  When I try to set it to 443 (disable the account, change the port, re - enable the account) everything looks good, but at the time when I try to connect, it turns to 5223.  I tried to delete the account completely re - create, both as a right has Jabber (port 443 from the beginning of setting) or as a gmail e-mail account and then change the port later.  Nothing does.

Thinking perhaps it was corrupted prefs, I deleted all the * prefs to iChat and everything that seemed related to google or jabber.  No change in behavior.

Anyone seen this before?  Help to solve if possible of love.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Currently I use port 5222 and without SSL and my account settings Google is for applications that are less secure.

    I can't use 5223 or even443 with SSL on.

It is a decision that was made by Apple.  El Capitan is the newest OSX that will support a 2009 MBP.

This is not uncommon.  My 2006 MBP came with Tiger, but is limited to OSX Snow Leopard.

Old hardware ends up by becoming obsolete with newer technology.

Good afternoon; I have the Cisco Jabber Software running on an Iphone 6 Plus, everything works well when the phone is unlock, when the phone is locked can not answer the calls received by the Cisco Jabber only a window appears with a message that I have a call, but I can't answer. Is there a way to solve this problem. ????

Since this request is not an Apple application, I suggest make you contact with the developer of application or their support and ask your question.

  • Bluetooth not identified in the material

Last night my bluetooth keyboard and mouse were connected without problem.  This morning, on the other hand, at the start of my Macbook Air (2.2 GHz Intel Core i7), according to preview it, the hardware system, report had no Bluetooth hardware! Of course, after a restart the bluetooth material has been and remains is recognized. Any suggestions of what this might be, beyond a simple hiccups?

More than likely just a hiccup, but make sure that your Mac OS X is up to date.

Open the App Store, and then select the updates menu.

  • Why apple did stop their 'material' servers?

Why apple not stop their servers 'material' software, I understand that it is always available in the app store.

It was not a deal that worked for them. Form Apart the Xserve (who they have stopped selling in 2011) all the other servers were simply ordinary Mac OSX Server.

As you say, you can update osX to the alternative server for just £15.

  • Non-secure Jabber login?

    Greetings!

I had a devil of a time using my iChat since the last update.

I get the prompt on a non secure Jabber connection. Then he said: my password is not valid.

    Help!

I tried to reset passwords, signature/signature outside. I tried to remove some Keychain passwords.

Nothing seems to work, and I miss my cat.

    Hello

It would help if we knew which Jabber server you are trying to connect to.

I find that a Google Talk ID, I used since iChat 3 sign is no longer using the SSL protocol and will always yield a nonsecure connection.

This is despite me setting the element 'insecure Apps' at Google and by changing the name of the server and setting the Ports and SSL on my Mac.

Something always seems to substitute for settings for the Autodiscover Port and the server that takes the parameter disable SSL.

IT seems that the name of the server is therefore more talk.google.com either.

You will need its origin, gray, The installation of the Applications DVD. It will have the words "AHT version...". "printed on it.

Insert it into the optical drive and then stop your Mac. Turn it on using the power button. Press and hold the D key immediately after hearing the startup sound.

  • MacBook Air 11 "(mi-2011) material issue"

Hi, I had a MacBook Air "Core i5" 1.6 11 "(mid-2011) a few months ago by my sister. I'm new to Mac, but I've been fixing PC for more than 20 years. Need a little advice on the model of this issue.

Full specs are here MacBook Air (11 inch, mid 2011) - technical specifications

Short story is that the Macbook Air was dead. After buying the screwdriver specialized to open the macbook air, I managed to get out the internal SSD Flashdrive on but as Apple uses customized connectors I had to buy an external case to test the drive and he was DEAD.

So I installed El Capitan on an EXTERNAL drive plugged into the USB. It's a plus for Apple to initialize external drives and a nice feature.

Once I got the macbook air I found following several breakdowns of equipment.

    1 SSD drive is dead

2 camera and the Microphone is dead. No facetime.

3 the POWER BUTTON is dead and holding down the macbook air will not shut. (I had to unplug the connector from the motherboard) This allowed me to switch on/off the computer buy pulling on the magsafe power supply.

I have been fixing computers based on Windows for decades and never seen so many parts fail both.    WHAT CAN CAUSE THIS?

At first I thought it was the logic board at fault, but I doubt that is the case. I can only assume a power SURGE or something to do as much damage.

I was hoping to get this up and running for my daughter from school to save money, but unfortunately not the case. The price of all the ssd drive is high and he still has a chance to not work if the logic board is also damaged.

THEN AND MATERIAL SPECIALISTS MACBOOK GOT SOME ADVICE?

It's true that to fix the power button that is dead the keyboard needs to be replaced?

Advice would be useful. For now I am able to use with the base of the cover off and the battery disconnected but is now portable way.

    Thank you very much

Like you, I had business with the PC and computers relatively old. You have quite the list, and you probably answered your own question. I have studied logic board only and lives at $ 200-300 min. purchase from a reliable source of Apple pieces. In my opinion.

Put the Mac Air 2011 all back together and its trade.

  • Error message "No secure Jabber Login" popup.

I have this annoying pop-up that continues even when the associated account connects to and online. I scrambled the username for security concerns.

I hope someone can tell me how to get rid of it. I don't know what is Jabber. I use email on my Macbook Pro, really just read the messages from my iPad and iPhone in sync while I'm on the laptop.

In the Messages menu bar, you select

    Messages ▹ preferences... ▹ Accounts

Select one of your accounts, Jabber (including Google Talk, if any) in the list on the left, and then select the server settings tab check the box use SSL. Repeat for other accounts. Close the preferences window.

  • First Graphing Calculator Identification of old Version of main material has

    Hello

I tried to update the firmware to the latest version (2014-07-02 (6031)) on my graphing calculator of premium without success, the release_info.txt file which indicates (for 2014 03 31 (6030) firmware version):

There is limited between that backward compatibility and earlier releases.

First older hardware (revision A) supports this version, but the stream without thread-to-unit and data functionality is not supported on previous models. In the first screen HP help > revision of material appears with the software version information.

How will I know if my calculator hardware number is A revision material?

Is the version of CASE the number of material?

    Thank you very much

    H.

    Hello

All primes of HP are upgraded to the version 6030 (note that 6031 is for PC emulator only). It's just that the material has a problem with certain communications.

Firmware version prior to 6030 (5447 and older) do not show the hardware version in the display 'a way'.

When you upgrade to 6030 the hardware version will appear on the display 'a way'.

Alternatively, you can determine the version of the material from the model number (located on the back of the box she approached, the bar code):

    NW280AA is A revision material

G8X92AA is the review material C

In addition, the following process is recommended for the upgrade of the premium:

Install the connection from the CD Kit.

Once installed the connection, update the calculator.

    The following method is recommended:

    • Connect your HP Calculator first via the supplied USB cable (connected directly, do not use a USB hub)
    • Start the HP connectivity Kit
    • Click the tab of the calculator
    • Right click on the name of the first HP you want to update (it would be that you connected before starting this procedure)
    • Write down the version number, and then click the OK button
    • Click the Help Menu and select Check for update
    • Look for the pop-up box to update, check the version number that is newer than the one you want to update.
    • Then click on the download button
    • That's it, you will see the update being loaded and installed on your calculator screen. Don't click too quickly out of the HP Connectivity Kit, wait a minute or two after the completion.
    • In addition, there are a step in the connectivity Kit where it is advisable to back up the version that you had before the procedure, just in case. This way, you have a way to cover again.

    Kind regards.
