Matt does not start

Computer was working fine yesterday.  Today, the carpet does not start.  Nothing.  No lighs, no spotlight, zero.  Works to monitor and that's it.  The loads of workspace on the monitor.

I tried to reestart system - failed

I tried to remove the carpet and replace in - where he had accidentally unplugged-TI was not the case.

What should I do now?

I saw the same problem last week.  For me, it was a Windows update that cannot be installed until I did a "SHIFT + Shutdown".

This completely off the system and allowed the Microsoft update must be installed.  After that, everything was back to normal.

To do this: hold down the SHIFT key and do a normal shutdown of the settings menu.

You must hold the SHIFT key down all the time.  During the closure, I saw a message on the screen indicating an update of Windows is applied.

I hope this works,

I have the latest Firefox 25.0 (and the last Flash 11.9.900.117) on Windows 7 and the following behavior is reproducible. It started not too long ago.

At first when I launch Firefox, nothing appears no matter how often, I restart. I see in the list of the process firefox.exe to 25% of the CPU, 2 x FlashPlayerPlugin_11_9_900_117.exe (CPU 0%) and plugincontainer.exe. No matter how many times I killed all of them, would not restart Firefox.

The following also not help in this situation:

    • Starting in normal safe mode: Firefox opens a window but immediately freezes and does not respond. The process list shows the same process even if I find the unexpected FlashPlayer.
    • Disable plugincontainer: same results (just without plugincontainer.exe)
    • Uninstall Flash: Same results (just without FlashPlayerPlugin)

The following can start Firefox only once:

    • Starting in SafeMode but select "Reset Firefox": Firefox does not start right away, however. Nothing happens, and you have to kill the process. However the very next time you launch Firefox in the normal way, it works fine (but it shows FlashPlayerPlugin.exe in the list of unopened Windows process despite the tab). Unfortunately, after closing Firefox the process (Firefox, FlashPlayerPlugin) are not deleted. I kill and the problem with Firefox do not leave reappears.

    Hello

I have starting problem with my laptop.
After working, when I put the lid, system will stand by as it should.
When I leave it like that for quite a long time (over an hour) and I open the lid and press the power button all the lights go down and it does not start.

No matter how many times I try it remains dead. I have tried everything that disconnect pluging the battery and adapter, nothing happens.

    Help, please!

Usually when you want to reuse for laptop you simply open the lid and laptop should be awake alone.
What happens when you just open the lid?

  • Satellite A200-24 b does not start

I got my A200-24 b for almost 2 years now and the problem I have is driving me crazy.

My laptop does not start at times. All the LEDs come, this Satellite down left indicator as well. But there is nothing on the screen.
Doesnt matter what operating system I use, and I even tried to install the latest version of the BIOS. Nothing.
I see the drive hard led flashing, and I can even hear the Vista startup sound.
I have to turn it off manually by pressing the manual power button. Even this doest work sometimes. I remember the until routine start-stop 10 times.
The problem is that Windows 7 will automatically repair mode. This never happened with vista.
I even tried to change the memory chips live in vain.

Will you please keep in mind what is happening randomly and I was not able to recognize a pattern.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Its still under warranty.

    > Its still under warranty.
Can you see Toshiba welcome screen or enter the BIOS settings?
In my opinion you should not play with it. Put original Toshiba recovery DVD and install recovery image, if possible. Test it with the factory settings and if there is some problem of nearest service contact and let them repair your laptop.
Satellite A200 is not latest model laptop, and I can imagine the warranty is valid for the next months only.

  • Satellite L650 does not start sometimes the Power button

Sometimes when I press the button works / starting the fan of laptop and the laptop does not start.
However when I press once again lights up.
This does not depend on how long you keep holding the power button so that it starts.
    Anyone facing this problem.

    Thank you.

What exactly do you mean by does not start?
Is this means that the laptop has been closed or has been set to standby or hibernation mode?

Are you able to see the Toshiba start screen when you switch on the device?
If fans hang on this means that the laptop has been put under tension, and then you the OS should start to initialize.

PS: usually it s no matter how long the power button could be pressed. Briefly press (1 sec) should turn on the laptop.
But if you do not want to power OFF using the Notepad works / stop, then you will need to tap more long time 4 sec long but it is not recommended that this reset should be made only if the OS hang

  • HPTouchSmart does not start after winupdate

    Hello

Yesterday, I upgraded my laptop (Touchsmart tm2 2001) to 8.1 windows and had the same problem as some people here: the upgrade has been fine, but in the end he could not restart (white screen with blue windows, loading, loading and restarting again and again...)

I managed to restart with the mode without error and solved the problem: I have desctivated driver intel graphics (I couldn't update anything without error)

It was ok, I could reboot and reboot again.

So I decided to let windows update do the rest... and he did quite well... until the last reset...

From that moment, the computer does not start even the first window of Windows... I see the boot "Press Esc..." and it switches directly to a black screen with the wait cursor, in the upper left of the screen... no HD activity, nothing...

Can I change a file or something with another pc accessing the HD for this problem or should I reinstall windows?

NB: the Esc then F11 - restore procedure does the same thing...

    Thanks for anyhelp...

A win without risk, the triumph without glory

Hi and thanks for your response.

the problem was not during the passage of W7 W8, but with W8.1 was last updated (update 1).

but I solved the problem, and here's what I did:

    -reinstalled W8 from disk

    -get updates for W8

-Register a restore point (just in case...)

    -do the upgrade to 8.1

    -the same problem occurred...

    -Restart in safe mode

    -went to the hardware configuration

-Choose update for the graphics card from AMD, it just changed to 'base map Windows.

-J' also disabled the option to update automatically hardware drivers

Therefore, the problem has been resolved, but my screen was very bad...

    -restart normally

-update of the Intel HD graphics (version 07/04/2014 or 07/04/2014, don't remember if it was french or not date format... (Sorry) in the list of hardware configuration.

-updated all the rest with windowsUpdate

    And now all is well

    :-)

In fact, when I went to find the drivers for the AMD card, it seems that they simply do not exist for W8.1 update 1... They will one day? I'll check manually if I remember ^ ^

The matter is now resolved, thanks for the links to drivers

  • Lenovo Z585 does not start on a DVD - jump directly to Windows

Hello, I just got a new IdeaPad Z585 from newegg, and I can't figure out how to boot from a disk in the drawer of the DVD.

I tried to open the BIOS and change the boot order, as well as simply go directly to the start menu. I tried with UEFI both active and disabled, as well as Secure Boot both enabled and disabled. No matter what I try, it does not start in any DVD.

I try to install Linux and tried different discs and distributions of this. When no even reached GRUB, I tried a Windows 7 installation disc, and even that is ignored.

    What should I do?

    Hello
The secureboot and uefi must be handicapped simaltaneously. You can try if you haven't.
Also, could you try pressing the novo button to power your laptop. The novo button is the button of reocovery key a small next to the power button. Has then access Startup menu see if it helps.

  • Computer does not start after installing a new graphics card

I am owner of a HP Pavilion H8-1020 with a processor intel i7 - 2600 s Windows 7 and am trying to upgrade my Radeon hd 6570 to a Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 280 OC. I improved my diet for a Corsair CX750 to meet the requirements of power and installed with number. After the installation of the new card, which as far as I can tell is well seated in the pci slot and correctly connected to the PSU, my computer does not start.

System powers on, all fans of begin to run including the fans on the new graphics card, but it does not begin the boot process, no entry is received at my monitors, no light on the keyboard, my OS starts loading, I can turn off the system without the delay that will flow normally. Then I reinstalled my old graphics card and the computer started as usual.

Now, assuming that the card is not DOA, which unfourtunatly I have no way to verify, and I'd like to see if it could be another problem before going through the process of restitution. I did some reading on the internet, which helped, but did not help for a technological neophyte like me.  Now, I know a few things that could cause this problem but lack the necessary skills to determine what question is making me. What I've read, these could be possible questions:

1: my new graphics card is not compatible with my motherboard. It's something I know now that I should have checked before buying and something I should theoretically be able to do it now, but I am at a loss on how to do it. My card is compatible with my motherboard?

2 could be a BIOS problem. I updated my bios driver with the version provided by the HP site. I am running FRIEND 7.16 05/10/2011.  And from what I've read it might have something to do with my bios to UEFI mode and I would need to go to a legacy mode so he can recognize a new device, is it true? I am extremely wary of messing with my BIOS settings for fear of bricking my system. How can I check my current BIOS settings are and what I should change and how would approach I change them? Will one of these changes affect my system if they are not what is not causing the problem?

In addition to these issues, anyone know any other matter which may be the cause of the problem that I should look for? Thanks for any help.

    Hello @Eric_Z,

I can see why you are having problems with your new graphics card, and to get to the fast response that your motherboard is not compatible with the new graphics card that you have purchased. And here's why.

Your motherboard according to the page HP Pavilion HPE h8-1020 Desktop PC product specifications is the Carmel motherboard, which has the following expansion slots:

    • A PCI Express x 16
    • Three PCI Express x 1 connectors
    • A PCI Express Mini Card x 1

As there is no version indicated for your PCI Express x 16 it slot means that it is version 1.

Now, your previous graphics card was a PCI Express 2.1 x 16, which means that it was version 2 and compatible with your PCI Express x 16 slot on your motherboard. However, the new card is PCI Express 3.0 and will not work in your motherboard due to a compatibility break. While the technology is supposed to be compatible there are many cases where it is not, and I'm afraid that you meet one of these cases.

I am offering an overclock.net article entitled: the final answer to the controversial compatibility of PCIe x 16 version. where your situation has been tested and examined.

I hope this helps. Have a great day and thank you for display on the HP Forums!

  • Windows XP does not start after the installation of 3 GB of RAM. Will start with only 2 GB or less.

I installed the new RAM on my desktop Compaq EVO D500.  Everything was working fine until 2 GB.  When I tried to install no matter what the computer does not start.  Specifications of the computer say maximum RAM is 3 GB.  All the memory and are good because I swapped taken in all the combinations possible and memory.  Any ideas. gknapp_ny

If their were any memory related settings that had to be changed I would have no idea how do.  I had initially 512 MB of RAM (256-2 sticks).  I added a stick of 1 GB aditional third availabel taking and all went well.  Then I had two more identical 1 GB sticks and added them one at a time.  With 2 GB without problem.  But with the third stick of 1 GB that I couldn't start - I just beeps. I swapped one of the sticks of 1 GB for an old 256 MB and still no start just beeps.  When I run 2 GB everything is fine.  The BIOS recognizes the 2 GB of RAM. gknapp_ny

Sounds as if your BIOS will not identify no matter what says the spec, 3 GB.

It seems as if you may need a BIOS update in order to recognize the 3 GB of RAM - especially if it is a very old Compaq Evo D500.  See the "Improvements" tab to the page linked below.

    See http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=96295&swItem=PSG_I15378-37635&prodNameId=97121&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=3

Note that the patch on the link above is for models Evo D500 "with a ROM family 686Y2."  Read the "Release Notes" on this page to determine if your machine is one of those and if so, see "Instructions of Installation" to install the upgrade.  If your D500 is a laptop, you should Flash the ROM ONLY (i.e., update the BIOS level) when the computer is plugged - loss of power during this process can potentially cause irreparable harm to the computer.

    0x0000007B (0xF789E528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000)

I guess that's due to the used on the boards of different drivers. I can't boot mode safe. How can I fix?

    Help, please. Thank you!

    Hello Riggs614

After Exchange of this type of major equipment, you will have to make at least a "repair" of XP.

A repair will not lose any data, other that the Service Pack (if not on CD), no matter what Windows updates and unsigned, drivers that will need to be re-installed later.

Stay offline for repairs and not go online again without a firewall is activated. After the repair of XP, install the Service Pack (if necessary), firewall, then you must install to the all the critical updates then.

    How to fix XP.

    1. start the computer from your Windows XP CD.

    2. When you see the "Welcome" screen press [Enter] to start the configuration of Windows.

Note: Do not choose "to repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R", not wanting to load the Recovery Console.

    3. accept the license agreement and Windows will search for existing installations of Windows.

    4. Select the XP installation that you want to repair in the list, and then press [R] to start the repair. Setup copies the necessary files to the hard drive, and then restart.

    5. do not press a key to boot from CD when the message appears. Setup then continues as if she were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings are preserved.

    Hello

    ·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

    ·         What exactly happens when you turn on the computer?

    ·         You get the error message?

If you are not able to boot in the BIOS there is a problem with the hardware. I suggest you contact the computer hardware manufacturing for this problem.

    Hello

The Tablet is only about a year. And I've kept it's safe and sound, no damages or drops. Nothing.

But yesterday morning when I got it, he went to sea and no matter what I do, it does not start!

I press and hold the start buttong. Nada. I even press the windows key or was desperate enough to press the volume even toggles!

I thought that maybe the load isn't enough. So I let it charge overnight. Still nothing.

He used to have a small problem before that sometimes he used to take a few minutes to actually boot (startup). But it's random and many times, it was when an update has been installed. But not always.

But this time, he stayed off the coast and after more than 24 hours, does not illuminate!

    What should I do?

    Thank you

I think just, I solved this problem. Make absolutely certain that you are using the supplied with your coming Pro USB wall wart, similar and ordinary phone chargers don't work reliably and sometimes not at all! There will be a sticker on the side of her windows. The Pro should need more energy than what is normally fed by normal phone chargers. I hope this helps!

Also, I think that light orange/red momentary while that push the power button is actually an indicator of battery flat (as crazy as it sounds). These types of batteries are supposed to be completely empty as it will ruin their fast enough, so they are designed to power off with a few charges left to protect themselves to be completely discharged.

  • Windows 7 Enterprise does not start successfully after re - install

I have just reinstalled Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit with SP1 on my laptop HP 6715 b. (I use 32 bits for any software that I develop is always compatible 32-bit.)

After you have re-installed however, it does not start correctly. What came with windows announce "Starting Windows", but the following animation never - start the four lights that turn and turn into the "Flying Windows Icon.  It then crashes right there - do nothing, no matter how long wait.

If I can put the machine power off and re - start, we are at the "Windows Recovery screen" - because it has not started correctly the last time.  From there, I can choose to make a recovery and return to the last Point of good restoration, i.e. on a freshly installed system before the update of Windows, of course.

If I select "Start Windows normally", it starts however. But it is not 'Normal '. For example I can't finish my "Windows Easy Transfer".  It says that it cannot connect to my domain name - even if I am connected to my area and have been using it to install other software.

Or I can do a Windows Update "normally". The last time I tried, it is gone for hours without finding what be - so I left it overnight. In the morning he had apparently found nothing yet.  However when I turned off the machine and then turn it again - he told me there are 211 updates installed.  WHO has literally all day.

I'm not happy to come back to the last good Restore Point.  I did once.  He has NOT fixed the problem.

    I also tried:

    • Using MSCONFIG to disable all the startup and Services, apart from Microsoft and Kaspersky - no improvement.
    • Do a CHKDSK - revealed nothing.
    • Start in Safe Mode, did change his behavior.  This time I do not have the Herald "Starting Windows".  But turn the machine works again once, return me the 'Windows Recovery screen '.

Ideas anyone? I'm at my wits end.

It's OK guys.  I have it sussed.

He was objecting to the fact that I had my USB with my "Windows Easy Transfer" files on it, plugged during the initialization of the system.

Also, I was wrong in my thinking on how "Windows Error Recovery".  I assumed that he would do all that it checks before proposing to do a system restore.  It is not, it suggests a restore of the system first.  If you say NO to that, then he makes his audit.

What is finally here, is that I finally chose an option before he went into the system recovery.  Then, I waited until he was asked to do a system restore.  I said NO, so he went in it checks.  He went through his analysis and finally concluded it was some "system unspecified device" recently added.

Well I haven't nothing added to my machine for years.  So, I was puzzled.  Then I thought ' well, I don't normally have my key USB is plugged. "  I wonder... ».  I therefore disconnected the USB drive and rebooted the machine.  The rest they say is history.

Hope this sorry tale helps someone else.  It just cost me four days!

  • PlayBook Simulator does not start in vmware.

I had just installed sdk playbook and Simulator on windows 7 and configure the Simulator on vmware.

But the playbook Simulator does not start on vmware... He simply display the splash screen...

Do you have another computer to try out it?

For example, in my case, I have 3 PC. Two of them the Simulator installed and worked well, the third, no matter what I do I can't get the Simulator to go beyond the start screen.

I even took a suspended version of the Simulator everywhere for my 3rd machine, and it has run for a little while so locked up when I tried to activate the mode of development. However, VMWare works perfectly for other sims installed on this machine (but with VMTools installed in the virtual machine), then it is not a VMWare question by itself.

Personally, I think that unfortunately for certain combinations of hardware/OS simulator simply does not work.

FWIW my 3rd machine is underpowered with only 2 GB of ram, an Intel ATOM (z520) processor and a GMA 500 GPU which are pushed along Windows 7.
