Maximum memory upgrade?

I have a HP-G71-340US with 4 GB of RAM.  I am trying to find out what the maximum amount of RAM I can use with this model.  I asked around with answers ranging from 4 GB to what I can afford.  I am running Win 7 Ultimate right now, with processor Intel 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.20 GHz. thanks, I am glad this forum is here!

Hello

Ram maximum support for your laptop is 8 GB (2 x 4 GB modules).

For example, an appropriate upgrade can be seen on the following link.

  • Maximum memory upgrade ZE4904US Pavilion

According to the specification, this laptop uses PC2700 DDR 333 memory and the maximum is 1024 MB (1 GB). Is there anyway to increase by 2 GB memory being available in modules of 1 GB PC2700 DDR memory?  What hardware or software restrictions are preventing the system goes beyond 1 GB?

The limitation may be either the chipset on the motherboard or bios, you can do anything if it's chipset, HP increases not the maximum allowed in an update of the bios, then there is nothing you can do, sorry.

I looked through the revisions of the bios for this model and no mention in addition in addition to ram max, but they don't always say when they do.

Does not look good for this model, if you buy the memory of a place with a friendly return policy you may try and see if it works with 2 GB.

  • Maximum memory recognized for a Satellite Pro 4340

Read the previous posts about the extension of the maximum memory for a laptop Satellite Pro 4300 series suggests that the possible maximum memory upgrade is 320Mo composed of 64 MB on board more than two banks of 128 MB (128 128 64 = 320). I asked Toshiba in England if the SP 4300 range will recognize the PC100 256 MB memory modules, but they couldn't give me a definitive answer one way or another - just that they had tried to 128 MB with success modules. However, the specifications of the machine have been written before 256 MB modules were generally available, and so I would like to ask the following questions of the readers of the forum:

    1. someone has actually tried a bunch of 256 MB of PC100 memory in banks of memory your laptop series 4300 SP? -If so, what was the result?

    2. even if the maximum memory that can be recognized is always set to 320 MB, this could be achieved by simply using a bar of 256 MB and 64 MB on board?

    3. has anyone actually tried to put into one or two modules of 256 MB memory in the memory banks and see what happens? Are they recognized?

It is clearly an expensive experiment to try then I would hear earlier for other people who may have already explored these options rather than buying the memory myself to see what is not recognized! I'm really interested in hearing from someone who has actually tried what I mean above (and either successful or failed) not of someone who has read the specs on the Web from Toshiba site that says maximum memory is 320 MB and then a few citations that back for me.

    Hello

I found exactly the same info on the memory modules. You can use the 128 MB module with PA3005U - 1 M 12 part number.

I have gift? t understand why you want to use this module of 256 MB. If you want to have the maximum performance, don? t complicate just use tested parts and enjoy life.

  • Portege Z930-10F - memory upgrade

    Hello

I recently bought a laptop computer Z930, and I thought about upgrading the RAM.

I wanted to buy a 8 GB DIMMS, but I noticed on the specifications that the maximum memory allowed is 6 GB (this means a DIMM 4 GB + 2 GB on the motherboard). It is a restriction of the card mother or similar? If this is not the case, the laptop would go with 10 GB of memory?

    Thank you!

This is the newest model of Portege and on this forum we don t have a lot of reports on the RAM upgrade.
I ve checked specification too and it says 4 GB of RAM you can use for the upgrade, so just for your info: compatible 4 GB RAM except the number PA5037U-1M4G.

  • Maximum memory for Portege Z930 - 14L

    Hello

I have a Portege Z930 - 14L with 8 GB memory and wonder what is the maximum memory I can add? I saw the following in the description, but I don't understand if this means that the maximum is 12 GB (4 GB onboard + 8 GB expansion) or 16 GB (2x8GB)

    Standard system memory: 8 192 (4 069 + 4 069 onboard) MB
    maximum extension: 8 192 MB
    technology: DDR3 RAM (1,600 MHz)

    Thank you
    Markus

If I understand this right info your a Portege already maximum RAM.
Is that your laptop Portege can manage with 8 GB memory max. On board, there are already 4 GB and there is only one slot of RAM available for upgrade that also contains a 4 GB RAM module.
In other words, your laptop is already maximum RAM and upgrade is not possible.

  • Tecra M7 memory upgrade question

Hello everyone, I would like to upgrade the RAM on my Tecra M7, which came with 1 GB and is supposed to get a free site available. Since the system's maximum memory is 4 GB, I guess you can use up to 2GB stick into each slot.

My question is: can I have a 1 + 2 GB configuration (with / 3GB in total) or modules should be combined for better performance (1 + 1 GB) DDR2? I read somewhere something memory dual channel working only with identical memory modules, but I'm not an expert so I don't know?

    Any idea anyone?
    RADO

Of course, you can mix the sizes of memory. It s nothing unusual!
You can use different memory module sizes, but you should be 100% sure that both modules supports the same specifications as DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200)

  • Re: Memory Upgrade Satellite 2450-101

I have a portable Satellite 2450-101 aging. (Pentium 4 2.66 GHZ XP Home)
It is perfectly sufficient for my needs.

I would like to install more memory (currently with 2 x 512 MB modules)...
However the manual States that the maximum memory it can handle is 1 GB.

I would like to install two 1 GB modules to upgrade to 2 GB.

Is it possible to do through Bios updates or am I stuck to 1 GB... ??

    Thank you in advance.

    > However the manual States that the maximum memory it can handle is 1 GB. I would like to install two 1 GB modules to upgrade to 2 GB.

If the manual says that you can upgrade the memory up to 1 GB of RAM then you will not be able to use 2 x 1 GB of RAM and would not be able to upgrade to 2 GB.

  • Questions about memory upgrade HP Pavilion 13-B080SA

    Hi all

Recently, I bought the laptop above which came with 4 GB of memory.  I want to upgrade the memory up to 8 GB I have run a Windows VM in Linux and will require more then I have.  I was wondering if someone could please tell me how much memory slots that laptop has and what a memory, I need to get to 8 GB.

I had a glance on the HP site and am not able to find all the information about the amount of slots on this laptop.  It would be nice to have 2 slots like that I can buy a single 4 GB chip instead of replace for a 8 GB.

Is also the currently installed memory compatiable with the brands of spare parts, HP uses something different which will cause problems?

    Cheers in advance,

    Magnet light

    Hello

Currently she has 4 GB in a dwelling, you can add 4 GB to another location to make 8 GB:

    2 SODIMM slots DDR3L - 1600 MHz
    Support for DDR3L-1600 MHz
    Dual channel support
Maximum memory supported on-board 8096-MB system

The BEST option is to buy the same brand and features of the existing to have RAM the best of both worlds: compatible and double channel. Many after market barnds may not work with your computer. THS first manual from the following link shows you the part number and how to replace RAM on your machine:

  • HP laptop - 15-r131nx: memory upgrade

    Hello

    My laptop

HP laptop - 15-r131nx (ENERGY STAR)

    a 4 GB of Ram

I searched and google on the Ram upgrade and found that only one video on youtube who see the how to say while HP offer only the PDF manual on how to upgrade your RAM even his average dissamble the whole of your laptop just to get back the memory, you should

    Anyway my qustions is:

    (1) how can I improve my ram?

    (2) what is the maximum capacity of ram I could achieve is (8 GB) or (16 GB)?

    (3) the most important qustion is how much my laptop has locations of memory is 1 or 2?

as I read the Intel version has 2 slots while the AMD version has 1 location is true?

    I have version intel

and can you give my the specific manual for my product computer notebook

They do not write a specific manual for each single model. The manuals cover a variety of styles. Don't know what you are looking for or what information is still missing for you. You have an i5 processor, so you have 2 memory slots. Maximum memory is 16 gigs... 2 x 8 gig memory DDR3L-1600.

    From the Manual:

housing for module customer accessible/upgradable memory 1 or 2 (depending on model) 2 slots: DDR3L - 1600 MHz Dual Channel Support (Core processors)

Supports up to 16 GB of RAM in the following configurations: 16384 MB total system memory ● (8192 × 2)

Replacement memory is on p. 76. You need to remove the motherboard. It is not easy and requires a very detailed membership of the procedure described in the manual. It will compromise security.
