  I've tried the drive on another PC laptop Toshiba, and it worked without any problem.

  It seems my BIOS, or maybe my CD drive (cd/dvd burner) is not compatible. I checked the BIOS update section, but without success - my model has no bios updates (I have a Satellite M45-S331). What can I do to install Linux on this laptop? I have already partitioned my hard drive and created Linux and Swap partitions.

  My HP laptop model # G62 - 357 CA, running on Windows 7 suddenly refuses to power. I did all the tests of power, checked the battery, power adapter and everything else I can think of.
