  • PIN.WID has become my default browser, I don't want to, can not uninstall and have no chance with "subject: config?"

Ok. How can I get rid of the pin.wid as my default browser. When I click on firefox I get pin.wid. I can't uninstall it. I emailed them this question. Response (abbreviated); Subject: config in the address bar, I promise you, keyword.url in the search box... not stuck there... no results.

There are a few different ways that a site could take over your home page. These include:

    (1) change your settings

    (2) an add-on

    (3) hijacking your shortcut of Firefox

For #1, you probably already checked, but just in case:

You can use the home button or open a new window (Ctrl + n) to test the change.

Note that malicious software can create a file that will pick up your settings at startup. This article describes how to find such a user.js file: How to fix preferences that will not save.

    For #2, try this:

Disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off.

Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

For #3, if you get the unwanted page at startup and not when you use the home page icon or open a new window (Ctrl + n), check here: right click on your shortcut on the desktop for Firefox > properties > Shortcut tab. For 64-bit Windows, the goal should be the next, no more, no less:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

  • Disorders of MD3000i controller

    Hello

It seems that my MD3000i continues having controller problems. I get tons of critical errors via email notification, but whenever I'm in MDSM - status is optimal. The error messages I receive refer (for as far as I understand) on two controllers (enclosure 0, slot 0 and enclosure 0, slot 1). It means that both controllers have problems or that this means that a single controller continues to go down (restart) and fall back on the other controller? The errors are:

-Optimal wide port becomes degraded (event 1706 error code)

-Wide port degraded becomes impossible (1707)

I would consider replacing a controller if I can confirm which of the two is a failure. Is there a way to determine which of the two controllers boredom?

This MD3000i has now reached the end of his LIFE, and we have not supported more...

    Thank you, Alex.

    Hey, Alex.

After a deeper look in this set, it seems that the raid at location 0 controller seeks to go south on you. You may prepare yourself to get another. We can check it out if you can get your cable from the console, plug it into this controller and capture the output via Putty.

If you need the Putty settings and how to do this, let me know and I can send the instructions.

BUT it seems that the controller 0 is continually being reset to the other controller. This usually means a replacement of the controller.

Edit: I forgot to mention also that the disc into the slot in enclosure 0 10 is on its way. It would be good to replace this one.

Wish I had better news for you.

  • MD3000 slightly ill?

Got the simple double node Windows Cluster that uses two controllers MD3000 as shared storage. Very stable, but I think that self-healing storage functions may be masking a hardware failure.

Can someone explain more in detail log for me so I don't know what part to replace? Recovery guru says it all is fine, but a critical alert 1707 was sent to the monitoring software isn't all that happy.

    Hello, Pondule.

Honestly, from the surface, he looks and sounds like some simple firmware accumulated errors and an update can fix this. Usually, I see when there is "pilot destination error" and the location of the components is 'none '. BUT, I would like to take a deeper look and check that. I sent you an email and I'll wait for the bundle full support.

Let me know if you have any questions. Impatience on your part.

  • Help with ports BEFSR81 V2 has become inactive

I have the BEFSR81 V2 and every day at least one of the ports become inactive and the router must be unplugged and plugged in again to reset the ports. In efforts to try to help this problem, I was going to upgrade firmware version 2.44.2 to that on the 2.45.10 site, but when he got download I get a consignment to the model error on upgrade end file. Can someone let me know what happens if there is a problem with the router ports go out or the update of the firmware will fix if all goes well this issue and how to get the firmware updated

    Thank you for the help

Before trying to upgrade the firmware again, please reset the router by pressing button reset for 40 to 50 seconds long. This should help make the firmware upgrade a success. If it is not always works, try to upgrade the firmware using a tftp utility instead of the router interface based on user's web. The tftp utility can be downloaded from here. Please download and save the IRB on your computer. Once it is saved, run the .exe file. It will ask you the router's IP and password, and then select the file. Select the downloaded firmware file and see if it works.

  • Port Ethernet on X61s

The ethernet on the X61s port does not moored in the ban but only when the ban.

Is this normal? If this is not the case, how do you get the port to work while in the ban?

    bhohenstein, welcome to the forum,

It is normal that the ethernet port on the ban is a 'place', as the VGA port and modem port. The system can only support an ethernet port. When you fasten the ethernet on the ban become active port and internal ethernet port becomes disabled. Attach your cable ethernet to the ban and everything should work fine.

  • Lack of Z - 400 serial port

    Hello

    I have a number of product Z-400 SG637UC #ABA

Just updated to the latest version of the BIOS, was 1.17, I think.

Manual maintenance and each user's guide I can find a reference to the serial port header (15-pin) construction which

    My motherboard has.

However, I can't understand how to turn it on.  The security settings of the Bios do not list the serial port, and the Advanced Settings tab lists only the floppy drive and not the serial port.

Are the parties other than the header not installed on the motherboard on this particular product number?

Do not connect the pins of the rider 2 header and tell the BIOS the material is there?

PIN 12 of the 15-pin header is labeled 'detect the com' on page 168 of the Z-400 maintenance manual.  I do not think it is a standard pins for communications series name.  Is it being stretched up or down to activate the port?

I don't particularly want to spend money for the "2nd serial" material, when the first serial port is not working.

    Thanks for any help.

    PM

    AP_M,

The Z400 has a 2 x 8 serial port header, you have found.  To access the serial port, one needs the HP, the PA716A Option kit serial port adapter.  This kit, described here, has a small PCB attached to a PCI card and cable to the PCB of the card mother Z400.  This PCB contains the RS232 serial port transceiver integrated circuit, so it is necessary to make the serial port work - a straight through cable from the motherboard to a will of connector serial port not working, to not try.

Option kit that pa716a can be ordered as an option Z420.  The kit is not listed for the Z400, but the Z400 (and many other HP computers) use the same kit.

    To answer your technical questions:

-IIRC, Windows requires masking devices that are not accessible.  That's why the serial port does not appear in the device without this option installed kit Manager.

-12 axis, as you can imagine, is a "detect the com' which tells the system that the serial port kit is installed.  He is shot down (the Earth) when the cable attached to the motherboard.

-If you want to experiment and see if the serial port becomes active, turn off the Z400, then put a jumper between the P52 12 serial port connector pin and ground.  Soil is on pins 8 and 7.  (The pins are numbered with strange pins on one side (row) and evens on the other kind of pin 2 pin 1 opposite.)  To determine which line is even or odd, pin 16 is the last pin and the missing key on the 'same' line).

Then turn on the system.  After the Earth axis 12, the serial port should appear in the BIOS settings and certainly in the windows.

    * I think this is how it works, I have tried for a long time. **

    Does that answer your questions?

  • E3000 resets occasionally wired port when connecting to the VPN PPTP using Windows 7.

I've had an E3000 for a few months now and a couple of times per week that the router loses wired Ethernet connectivity while PPTP VPN connects via Windows 7. The router does not actually resets itself... but darkens light of wired connection, the computer establishing VPN, and connectivity to the router is lost. Within 30 to 45 seconds, the port becomes active, once more, and to establish the VPN connection. I've not seen this on a wireless connection, but I do not often, which may be why. Similarly, I have not seen this on my Vista or XP wired computers using the Windows VPN client... but then again I can't use them often enough to meet the problem.

I see this mostly on my Windows 7 (x 64) SP1, it also appeared pre - SP1, development equipped PC IP6 disabled on the PPTP VPN. And I don't see that on the establishment of a connection... once the connection has been made I can be operational for hours (5/6 or more a day) with no issue.

While this issue causes me all real headaches like this doesn't happen on the connection... I thought someone should know.

    abandoned,

Gave to your suggestion to try, but did nothing to eliminate the problem. The router was already on the version the most recent but re-flashed in any case. I ran 3 days on an old Windows XP machine connected to a different port on the router, I had 3 days to do work, and I've never had the drop on the VPN port. But this morning back on my Windows 7 machine... the port fell during my first attempt... I then had no problem, the rest of the day. Despite her disconnect and reconnect a PPTP VPN a few times more. Go figure.

Let's consider this resolved... as I don't want to lose too much everyones time hassling with something that seems to be minor. Thanks for the help!

In Device Manager, when I click on the Summary tab, it lists all the ports in the switch, but I only see 1 to 24 ports in the list.

If I click on the port and click on configure, I see a configured Port VSAN, Mode: Admin = Auto, speed: Admin = Auto, status: Admin = Up, Oper is out of service, FailureCause is LinkFailure, but I had that they guys on the site plug & unplug cables fiber directly from server to pass but nothing has changed.

I don't know why this is happening. Is there anything I can check why this is happening?

Thus, it seems that the server may need that an operating system loaded with the proper drivers from CF before its ports become alive?

    Yes indeed!

  • Live iSCSI SAN upgrade production network (Dell MD3000i and PowerConnect & ESXi 4)

    Hi all

For the moment, I have a direct connection to my Dell MD3000i iSCSI SAN in ESXi 4 2 x host with no switch between the two, all of the virtual machine is within the SAN and running on both hosts.

If I want to put a switch between the two and add one more iSCSI SAN so that the two SAN can be accessed / shared with the 3 ESXi 4 guests total, how should I approach the issue?

any idea or guideline would be greatly appreciated.

What I have to plan the time or can I change the old IP on the existing SAN iSCSI manually cable one by one without damage/alter the existing operation of the virtual machine on SAN? or I have to stop the virtual machine and then terminate the connection manually iSCSI session and then restart the host SAN?

    Thank you

    AWT

Standard installation on the MD3000i is for a port iSCSI on each controller on a subnet and one on each controller to be on another.

There have been people working successfully on a subnet, reported problems too.   I wish we were longer on our Vsphere upgrade, I'm not at a point but where I test things like Vmotion.

Apologize for the delay. During the last two day, I've updated my homelab to vSphere 6 (thanks to EVALExperience) and am happy to report vSAN works beautifully on the 20 GB infiniband network. In addition to the Windows logs, what is the status of the disk (VD) virtual and physical disk 0:0:0 in the BIOS of the controller or the OpenManage Server administrator? If the status of predictive failure is constantly reported, then you can consider replacing the physical disk 0:0:0. If the replaced disk is offline, try to force if online via the controller BIOS. Make sure that your BIOS and controller firmware is up-to-date.
