MD3200i grouping inside Windows 2008 R2

Hello

I am trying to set up clustering with ISCSI on MD3200i but the cluster control has failed.

During the windows iscsi initiator I connected to storage and I have not used for multipathing, each path on the two virtual machines is the same. Now I have 2 storage discs, quorum 1 GB and 120 GB lun. This check fails for the quorum drive and I have no idea why because he added in the same way as the larger disk of data. Any thoughts?

This is the error:

Hello opti2k4,

Here is a link to our configuration for MD 3200i installation guide in a cluster using windows 2008R2.  http://www.training4storage.com/dellmd_lsi_cn_docs/document/2010/08/MD32x0i_with_Windiws_Faliover_Clusters_Hardware_Installation_Guide.pdf.  I would check your steps on page 31 for your installation is correct with what we have to set up your cluster.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hello

I'm looking for a few windows networking procedure of experts here to solve these 2 problems.

I'm very good in Linux but not in windows, networks than some basics on windows of course.

I installed Windows 2008 R2 and Hyper-v 2008 on two machines different level of "WORKING group" because I'm small laboratory

I done the settting up the ip addresses static, of the hostname (s) on those computers.

    Windows 2008 R2 => 192.168.1.60 - obiee

    Hyper-v 2008 => 192.168.1.61 - hyperv2008

I have DNS running on 192.168.1.10 server and my linux local dns host: narayana.local

I can ping linux boxes ping, ping hyperv2008 obiee hostnames - works perfectly

I have a few problems in the windows operating system

    (1) i cannot set my computer full qualified domain name say obiee.narayana.local, hyperv2008.narayana.local - it can be a low priority

    (2) i don't can't ping using host names of these 2 machines - priority issue, I get a message

  • Windows 2008 Server R2 Std - issue of Best Practice Analyzer

Windows 2008 Server R2 Std - question BPA
I built a new Windows 2008 R2 Standard Server and configured as a domain controller. When you run the BPA I get the following error, which I can not solve:

    Question:
The default domain controllers policy is not in force on the OR OR = Domain Controllers, DC = WRIGHT.
    Impact:
If the Group Policy settings that are defined in the default domain controllers policy are not applied to domain controllers, Active Directory operations may fail.
    Resolution:
Link the default domain controllers policy to the ORGANIZATION OR unit = Domain Controllers, DC = WRIGHT

The default domain controllers policy is linked to the domain controllers OU. I dun dcdiag and the only failure is NCSecDesc but I don't plan to add an RODC to the forest. When I run the resulting strategy game I can see domain controller policy has been applied.
Is there something I can do to clear this error message?

What systems are primarily exposed to this vulnerability?

Workstations and servers terminal Server is mainly threatened. Servers could be at risk if administrators allow users to connect to servers and to run programs. However, best practices discourage you to allow this.

  • AAA accounting in charge of the Windows 2008 network POLICY server log

    Hello world

We have configured our Cisco devices to use Windows 2008 network POLICY server for RADIUS.  However, we cannot configure aaa represents priv 15 commands to use the same radius servers for recording of commands in privileged mode.  When you set up by using the following command:

AAA commands 15 arrhythmic default accounting RADIUS_SERVERS group

I noticed that there is only GANYMEDE + servers 'group' categories and optional.  After entering the server radius group, I realized that the command is not saved and by inspecting the logs I saw the following:

The 'MF_RAD' server group is not a Ganymede server group. Please define "RADIUS_SERVERS" as a Ganymede server group.

This means that the function of accounting 'orders' (and probably most others) can be activated only when you use a GANYMEDE Server +?

    Thanks in advance

You're absolutely right. Accounting command only works with Ganymede. We cannot have the command for the radius Protocol accounting. RADIUS accounting only gives you start and stop sessions package.

  • Windows 2008 network load balancing

    I hope someone can help.

I'm looking to start to test the Windows 2008 network load balancing. This will serve a webfarm. I went through various whitepapers, and forum messages but who have a few more questions:

    1. I get VMWare recommends multicast. Windows 2008 gives you two options, multicast and IGMP multicast. Seeing that I'm not an expert in network management, I'm a little nervous about the switched. Apparently to enable IGMP Snooping on your Cisco switches eliminate this? Is this true, if so you need install your cluster as IGMP Mulicast?

2 do you need to have dedicated NICs for the NLB cluster, separate vSwitch etc.? If this is not the case, there will be interference with the existing production network?

3 is a necessary static arp entry on your switch? All switches or just the farm goes where the ESX hosts are connected to?

    Some info would be appreciated.

1 have not tested, but IGMP snooping is what caused problems before because the switch ports would not join the group correctly, so it is suitable to test whether the OS is ready to send packets.

    2. it is better to use separate vNIC to the virtual IP address of the NLB cluster

3 static arp would be necessary if the IGMP snooping does not work for the switch ports that will be the virtual machine hosts that are part of the NLB cluster.
