MDT 2012 - deployment Lite Touch step by step

Hello

I want to know how windows 7 can be deployed using MDT on the network.

Got the solution form this link http://blogs.technet.com/b/danstolts/archive/2010/03/11/deploy-windows-7-the-easy-way-using-wds-mdt-and-aik-step-by-step-video.aspx

I download the video available in that and followed the instructions

  • Problems with drivers in Lite Touch Deployment (WinPE 6.2.9200, deploying 7 x 64 ENT)

I'm trying to deploy Windows 7 x 64 enterprise on a laptop that is not our standard specification and ordered as only once without prior testing.

When I have PXE boot since our deployment server, it loads boot.sdi and the trunk. WIM successfully, but I get so a mistake a network device was not a driver loaded for WinPE could not connect to the deployment server.

Try to resolve what I have:
    > Download the appropriate Windows 8 LAN driver from the manufacturer's website
    > Imported it out-of-box drivers in MDT
    > Checked in the properties of the driver that the seller and the device listed in the error ID appear in the list of supported devices
    > Updated the deployment share
    > Imported the updated boot image to WDS
This could not solve the problem, so I tried importing the driver directly in WDS and adding to the image manually boot. It has also failed to solve. After I installed Windows 7 manually on a disc, I have successfully installed the same driver to activate the LAN, although it is listed as a Windows 8 / 8.1 driver by the manufacturer. For me, this means that the driver is valid but I somehow do not import into the Lite Touch boot image. What can I do to make the driver to load properly?

  • How to deploy Windows XP using MDT 2012

Hi, I would like to use 2012 MDT to deploy Windows XP on our workstations.

I recently started this new job and our deployment server is dead. The system was not subject to return so I'll have to re - build the server from scratch. Fortunately the previous database of the server was saved because it was located on a separate SQL Server.
As I am new to the whole process, I tried to find some online resources to configure MDT and the MDT database. I would like to use the MDT database to get information from the PC and automate the configuration of PC host names, DOMAIN join and set the local administrative password. We use a password for local administrator separated for each workstation. This was previously defined in the MDT database and it would be configured on the workstation during the deployment.
Can someone help with this configuration or direct me to a guide on how to proceed?

  • Using MDT 2012

Here's a little story in my situation, I hope that there is a better way to do it.  A task that I performed very often is pictures of customers in internal double of their sata drives to several readers for the deployment.  As I do now is with a sled of 5 dock that has a source (in the image of the customer) drive and 4 targets (the disks I want to copy the image on).  As you can imagine, it is very time consuming.

Me are familiar with the use of MDT to deploy images on different servers and workstations and not in trouble.  I want to know is whether or not I can use MDT unfold this snowmobile. If we could keep customers from the images on the server and whenever we need a player of images we could then plug the right and just copy it to.  Is this possible?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • Puppet integration deployment fails at step 2: properties of the Application

I am a fairly new user to puppets and DPPA.

I installed the files to manifest puppet following this post Quick Start Guide: Application Director and puppet Enterprise Integration

PE presents itself as a new deployment environment. And I can successfully validate the connection.

When I try to deploy a new application (with any of the imported services of puppets), I get a 'an unexpected error has occurred. " Please contact your system administrator. "error on step 2: properties Application.

I don't see a mistake in Catalina.out on the server vAPPD (see attached the error log).

Oh, using the same model, I can deploy the example of Apache service with no problems.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I had the same problem, and it was with the logic model, I used (I had created a new logic model, and with this new logic model, I had the same problem)

To work around this, I have attached the model for the RHEL64 64-bit logic model, and everything was ok.

I wouldn't have the time to study more deeply on this.

Not sure what was broken, but I built another image captured with MDT 2013 and details began to Imaging without problem.

The differences between the captured images were:

    • inscription on the installation of JRE 32 bit
    • change in the licensing model on the installation of Office (from MAK to KMS)
    • software updates since last build - which would have been patches of January and February.

Still, I don't think that the differences above would have corrected the problem - but nevertheless, I'm now building systems of precision without problem.

    Hello guys,.

We had some problems with deployment workbench. I'm stuck since 2 weeks and I have no ideas.

So, we have already a precedent of deployment, but it is old, and we wanted to make a new one, in order to really understand all stages of the construction of a deployment.

So we created a PXE boot, who works there.

The thing is when we start the installation, Windows Setup is fine, so I run certain applications (Microsoft Office, 7zip, Adobe Reader, Flash Player, Chrome, etc.).

To explain, I added applications with command lines in the workbench, then I made a bundle with them. In the task sequence, I install the bundle.

We get the 1632 error code, which seems to be related to the temporary folder. He says it's full or inaccessible.

So I tried different things, I read that it was possible that the temp folder has been locked by another plant which may have gone wrong. So I took away from facilities that were not going very well.

It worked once, then it still make me error codes 1632.

I disabled the step "Install applications" in the sequence of tasks, which does nothing for me. (That I created the facility overall.)

My boss has the idea to disable GPOS that install stuff, so now I try it.

    Hello

Your Windows XP question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. Please ask your question in the Forum of box to Microsoft deployment tools. You can follow the link to your question:

  • HP 840 G3: 840 G 3 Intel Driver Bluetooth - silent installation - MDT - does not

    In the hope of assistance

Intel Driver of Bluetooth does not work well when you deploy the driver as an application through the MDT task sequence.

I'm running in question when using MDT Lite Touch 2013. Even if I was able to import this driver as an application, the result is still not good.

    I imported as an application

    I use silent syntax 'InstMultiPkg.exe' / / Silent

It installs as a mandatory model 840 G3.

I can verify that the installation was successful from my journal of MDT with return code 0.

Once you 840 G3 no final reboot, I connect, I check in the Device Manager and it says "generic Bluetooth adapter. I don't know what I'm missing. I don't know if there is a dependency of the installation of another application of HP but I tried this manually and it works fine.

I extracted the files and run as a msi file, is a with the command install.cmd.

    MsiExec.exe /i "Bluetooth.msi Intel" REBOOT = REALLYSUPPRESS number

Use the 18.1.1508.0538 for our 840 G3 version and do so as a package in my customsettings.ini

  • SSM deployment Sharing Violation

    Hi all

I have been using SDM/SSM to deploy my clients for a while with MDT 2012. I usually deploy a handful of clients as they need repair/update, but on occasion I own will deploy 50 or 100 customers at the same time.

When I do that, at the point where the SSM is running that I get an error on some machines (10%) - "met with a sharing violation while accessing xxxxx. CVA.

Still, it refers to a CVA file and can be a different CVA file on each machine.

I attahed a screenshot of the error. Once this happens, SSM never ends.

Are customers entering the CVA at the same time, being locked and SSM re-don't look at a random time later?

Or is it a network issue? -Most customers to deploy very well.

  • deploy the run-time engine

    Hello everyone,

I'm trying to deploy my application of teststand to a target computer. My teststand application uses: TestStand 2014 (32 bit), LV 2014 SP1 (32-bit).

Here's the problem I encounter while using the deployment tool.

    1. in the attempt to include RTE LV in my Installer, the deployment utility requires that I provided LV 2015 Installer. See the attached picture.

I wonder why she asked median LV-2015-64 bit Installer. If I ignore the request, the build process failed.

    2. I use the shared variable to communicate with the compactRIO controller. The compactRIO controller is hosting EVS. My question is,

    a. I have to "deploy" my variable library shared, even though my system is not an EVS?

    b. I read in the manual that I can deploy the variable Fanny shared through the LV utility deployed the lilbrary step. So I added this step in the test sequence. Whenever I run the sequence, this step deploys the shared variables. On the target, I wonder if it is necessary to deploy the shared variable on each run of the test sequence. I think it should only be deployed only once on the system target. Am I wrong? If so, how to remove this utility LV deploy step of the library of the test on the target sequence, since there is no development testbed on the target system.

    3. I use a database to record test results after each execution of test sequences. I can export the schema of the table data and copy it to the target computer. My question is, how to import the schema of the database in the target table, since there is no system development teststand on it (no way to call configure it-> result-> database to import the schema of the treatment table)?

I hope that teststand experts out there can give me some help tips to help me understand the whole deployment process. Thank you.

    Yours,

    lhuckj

    (1) make sure that LabVIEW 2015 Run time is NOT slected to install options-> drivers and components

    (2) I don't know

    3.

Generally, I put my data link in a UDL file and include that in my distribution.  I set the Connection string to use a relative to this udl path and make sure that the UDL is copied to the same location on the targer

I have also included in my repertoire of the Application of TestStand CFg:

    TestStandDatabaseSchemas.ini

    TestExec.ini

    Users.ini

StationGlobals.ini (attention if you do not want to replace the existing one, I use it to store the addresses of the instrument)

Now, the goal is followed by this material through SCOM 2012.

    My steps:

    (1) I downloaded and installed the latest management packs and imported into the management server in SCOM 2012.
    (2) I installed agents on my blades M910 (on Windows Server)
    (3) I discovered M1000e enclosure via the rules of network discovery and found it (snmp)

So for now, the problems are:

    (1) I don't see in the SCOM monitoring State (inband) view that a single blade server first physically installed in the enclosure.
So why I can't see the other 6 blades? What should I do to fix this?
    (2) I see in the status only at CMC base view of the case. Is this normal?
    (3) how to monitor iDRAC consoles? Measures?

Oh then it is the problem. You must install OMSA on all servers that are uncovered through In-Band.

You can get on the Dell support site.

  • Port 139 does not not on Windows 7 after deployment.

    Hello

I created some images of new installations of Windows 7. But the pack of GPO that is applied in MDT 2012 changes settings in windows 7 so that port 139 does not correctly work with gap analysis network SMB.
recently we bought workstations that already have a Windows 7 image on them. But because computers OS was deployed hollow some imaging modalities 139 port does not work properly. Is there such a tool from Microsoft to restore the port 139 on a charge CD Windows 7 feature?
Or any Microsoft employee who has done any research into this problem and tested and found a solution to this problem?
    Thank you.

You can take this on the Technet forums because I don't know where the sizes are fixed. One thing to remember when the GPO is that in many cases, changes may "tattoo" the registry and must be explicitly changed back instead of be reset to the default value.

    I hope this helps.
