  • m8120n Media Center PC RAM upgrade questions - help please!

I have an HP m8120n 2 year old PC. It has 3 GB RAM PC5300 inside stock. I want to upgrade the ram, with 6 or 8 GB. Here are the 2 questions I have:

    (1) this motherboard is supposed to handle 8 GB (4x2Go). It will get by the BIOS?

    (2) this motherboard is supposed to be able to handle up to PC64000 (DDR2 800) RAM. I can use it or do I have to stick to the PC5300 accompanying?

I understand that if I go to 6 GB, I leave 2 GB of RAM stock in it and you need to use the PC5300. I would prefer 8 GB and the PC6400. And Yes, I run Vista 64.

    Thanks in advance!

    Scott

    OK, I got it now.

  • Xbox 360 will not connect to the Media Center after that PC has been asleep

My Xbox 360 connects to my Media Center as an Extender initially. When it works, it works very well. However, after my PC has spent time in a suspended state, it is at 75% chance that my Xbox won't be able to connect to the Media Center. Sometimes it will work, but more often it won't.

Restart my PC will allow the Xbox to connect immediately, but this isn't an ideal solution. I wish I could have my PC of a suspended state wake and correctly connected to the Xbox media extender.

    Hello

    (1) did you make any changes before the show?

    (2) is the specific question when the computer wakes from sleep?

This problem may occur when the power is suspended in the media extender. I would have you go through the articles that might be useful.

When I try to add the Xbox 360 as an Extender, it goes up to like making up the 'contact' on the Xbox loading screen, but then the Media Center on the PC says something in the sense of "Windows Media Center has encountered an error... »

  • question re. records programmed in windows media Center

I want to record a tv using Windows Media Center (WMC) series. I configured the tuner, WMC and took the series to record using the guide. My question is: what I must have WMC running in the background for the scheduled to start recording, or WMC itself will start at the right time? In addition, it will start my laptop? in other words, can I just turn off my cell phone (to save energy) and let and WMC invites you to my computer to start up and/or start WMC when programmed recording? Thank you!

The laptop doesn't have to be on, but if it isn't then it must be in mode 'sleep'. If you do a full closed then media library will not be able to restart the laptop, but it can be awakened from sleep mode.

  • Media Center Question can I have set up as a server and the other two as clients, each using two of the tuners of the card?

I have 3 computers running Windows 7 Professional, one of them has a four installed tuner DVB - s2 card. I want to configure it as a server and the other two as clients, each using two of the tuners of the card. I understand the media library is able to use the basic network TV tuning cards, so there must be some way for me to configure the server to send the information over the network.

    Any ideas?

    Start reading here

You will not be able to use your existing tuners like tuner network. Microsoft has
arrested development of Media Center, so don't expect any new hardware/software to
    appear.

  • Media Center Extender and xbox - version question

I've been recently using WMC TV recording, but I can't get the message to my TV. I think of buying any old Xbox console to get the Extender. -I really hate on the games-just the Extender. Is there a certain version of the Xbox that I have Extender? Thank you.

    Hi Dean,

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.

You can go through the article to learn more about setting up a Windows Media Center.

If you have an Extender that worked with Windows Vista, it should work with Windows 7. For example, the Xbox 360, which includes the built-in Media Center Extender functionality will work with Windows 7.

Former dilution models that have been developed for use with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 do not work with Windows 7. I suggest you to be sure to read the fine print on the expansion box before you buy.

Hope this information was helpful and let us know if you need assistance in the future. We will be happy to help you.

  • Question of Media Center Qosmio G - ehshell.exe runtime debugging series

    Hi fans of Qosmio

I have a problem with my Media Center.
When I try to view a video I downloaded the screen goes black and stay like that and when I CTRL ALT DEL off to get him a (ehshell.exe - common language runtime debugging) rises.

First of all it says application has generated an exception that t couldn't be manipulated PID id = 0xc60 (3168) thread = 0x8c8 (2286).
It gives me options, click ok to complete or Cancel to debug.
When I click on Cancel to debug said registered JIT debugger is not available with 0 x 2 (2) check parameters cordbg.exe error code the 0xc60 happens.

Hope someone can help me with this problem and I hope it's not technical.
I m not very good on this subject.

    TNK, Mike

    > When I try to view a video I downloaded the screen goes black and stay like that
Does this happen only to play THIS video or downloaded video?
Did you check if you can play other video files correctly?

I have goggled a bit, but unfortunately, there are not many cases about this error message.
I think that it s simply something wrong with certain files, registry keys or the operating system is simply confused upward. In this case and to be honest it s nothing unusual in the wide word of computer systems

First of all, you can try to clean the operating system using the CCLeaner. It cleans the OS files and the registry. In addition, it would be desirable to install all the patches and fixes available...

If that doesn't do it, it would be very interesting to know if the same error would appear on own pre-installed OS

So, as you see it s not easy to say why the error message displayed to certain procedures of investigations would be necessary

    Good luck
