media in Windows 7 problem

I don't know how to explain it but I'll try. I had to do a complete reinstall of Windows 7 Home premium 32 x 86 because I had to change my hard drive. OK install went great, everything works fine and my product keys works, my account is authentic but one thing does not work and is my cd. I can read CD and burn CDs, but when I put a cd in my rom I do not see any content on the cd. When I open the cd to view files there is nothing. My question is something off I missed a sync or something. It's never happened before. Oh I have a laptop and my CD out perfect I thought I had a bad cd-rom so I took it to the repair shop and they tested everything is good. hard drive is brand new. I also replaced memory thought I would go the full boat if I changed my hard drive while I was there I put new things in. ok this what I took a picture for you and this is what it looks like. also the picture that this is a new cd of box and when I try to open the contents of the file which is, no info not the names of the songs nothing that I could really use some help because I can't copy CDs or copy songs from a CD, because never cd I put it in my CD looks like the picture. I'll explain to someone who can help me that I have no idea whats going on. Thank you all

It's looking like it's back to the re - install, is not? I just read through your previous posts about the problem you had with the installation disc. I think you must post a new question in the "Repair and Recovery" forum where someone technically more competent than me may be able to help. This seems to be more than a matter of media and I don't think I can suggest something else other than to have another attempt to re - install. At least it seems that you have all your files backed up, which is good. What do you think? -R.

Don't know why Windows Media Player does not accept your mpeg.

    Just a suggestion:

Use a video converter and change your mpeg to wmv format and read it.

If you don't have a video converter, google for a free Converter. No need to buy a.

    Hello

    1. don't you also get an error with the message code?
2 have you installed third-party readers part?
    3. What is the format of the files you are trying to play?

Follow these steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

I would have you readers of third party temporarily Uninstall and check if persists it to the question.

    Step 2:

Most likely you need codecs to play these files with Windows Media Player. I suggest looking up codec in the Internet that supports the file format, download and install them.

  • Unknown problem caused media player to close and that to protect my Media Player Windows has disabled skins

    Original title: "skins".
I recently downloaded a lot of skins from the microsoft Web site, and it worked very well for about an hour. Then I saw a skin called 'come back' I don't not download but recalled seeing in my default skins that were already installed. I wanted to see what it was and when I did caused a problem which I can't specify because the notification window remained only until fairly long for me to see (in a nutshell) "unknown problem caused media player to close and to protect my Media Player Windows has disabled skins. Now, I spent over 3 hours to try each answer in the forums for this issue and not one worked for me. I am running Windows Vista Home Basic and I can't find a way to reactivate my skin so that I can use only skins working know is the company and changing the skin that caused the problem. I tried deleting and reinstalling all the skins again, but again does not help. I tried to do a right click on the skin to go to properties to activate as suggested in the forums, but when I right click on it nothing happens. So now I have like 20 downloaded skins but the only way that they work is if I download again and choose to view them, but if I try to change the playlist or switch to full mode then it goes to firm skin and I download it again to get the one I want. I am so frustrated with this problem which I think should be a very easy thing to fix, but nothing I try works. Please help me. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

    Hello pgarv,

I suggest you look at this post on the Windows Experts. Their question appears to be similar to yours:
  • Windows 7 - Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file.

WMP worked fine one day and then the other, it will not play any type of file.  I just get the error message "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file." with each trying to play any type of file.  It won't play video or audio files, even those she played a few days ago.

Dano_TR: try to use system restore to restore to a point from before the problem started to happen, as I have suggested earlier in this thread.

In addition, if you have any installed codec Pack, try to remove the. Uninstall iTunes and Quicktime could also help.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp58001-58500/sp58226.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

Windows Media Player encountered a problem while reading file he when Pinnacle Studio HD 14 is running

    Hello

I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I installed Pinnacle Studio 14 ultimate test. When the Pinnacle program works-

    a. when I run a WMV file there is no audio data.

    b. when I rang a MPEG 2 file (720 p, 25 frames per second) OR a file m2t, Windows Media Player is not able to read the file and gives the error: "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when reading what he gives.

    c. when I close the program Pinnacle all right and WMP reads all of the above files correctly.

I also recently installed and uninstalled Corel VideoStudio X 3 of the trial. First Adobe Elements 8 trial is also installed on the PC.

I would be grateful yuour help solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Paresh

    Hello Paresh,

The Pinnacle program is third party software that is causing the problem to occur. Pinnacle may be in conflict with your music files playing in Windows Media Player, that's why, I suggest you to contact pinnacle and check with them.

Windows Media Player 12 is probably to use the codecs used by pinnacle, which may be the culprit.

  • I can't register names and create playlist appear windows media player acountered a problem when creating or saving the playlist

appear windows media player acountered a problem when creating or saving the playlist

To the WMP library, please click on organize and select manage libraries - music . What places are? If there is no available location, remove them and also make sure that a default save location is set. Do the same for the other libraries (videos, pictures, and Recorded TV).

If this does not help, close WMP, open Windows Explorer, right-click the music library, select Properties and click on restore by default . After that, make sure that a backup location is defined (as indicated by a check mark).

I guess my question is what I have to do a restore of the system under windows 7, before I can upgrade to windows 10? Or y at - it another way?

    Hello glockrow ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about windows update problems and wanted to help.

I would that be able to say that updating to Win10 was an exact science where we know exactly how he does it, and what it should - but the flooding of this and other instances of Win10 problem after that problem indicates that, at best, we are all guessing.

So, I think, from what I've read and done on my PC, is that you SHOULD be able to avoid the problem of missing updates by updating using Win10 created using this MS link media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

After you create the DVD or USB, NOT boot from it. Instead, insert it into your PC and, if it does not auto-start, right click on the file setup.exe and run it.

HOWEVER - and this is important - PC Win7 have a rate low success updated Win10 without problem - primariluy lack of OEM Win10 drivers.  Typical problems include display artifacts (to cause to be obliged to use the driver for the card of Microsoft Basic), not wireless and touchpad problems.  The drivers Microsoft provides have only the most basic features, with none of the extras that the HP drivers bring to the stage.

It is further complicated by the function Win10 GoBack, whereby you can return to your original operating system, being known to be unreliable. So when your upgrade machine malfunctioning, only then you discover that you cannot return the machine to work, that you had originally!

You can protect yourself against ending up with a damaged machine - seriously considering using a free third-party product that works for airport Imaging/restoration - Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

So now you can recharge before with the upgrade, knowing that whatever happens, you will be able to return to your currently works in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
