My computer is running "Windows XP stop critique.wav" sound every 10 seconds.
My computer is running "Windows XP stop critique.wav" sound every 10 seconds for the last 8 days. Window XP SP3. I spent 1-1/2 hours will dell workstation support and 1-1/2 hours with my computer work (shot as a favor to my personal computer) and they find nothing, MacAfee installed, updated several full scan virus. A ran Malwarebyte s multiple crawls - nothing. Kaspersky lab - nothing. Computer work ran a vrius start-up detector and nothing. No error log is generated. And two technicians stop various folders in the Task Manager and NOTHING he did stop. I was sent a disc of reinstalling XP SP3 Dell and I did a repair XP complete with no fix. Technician COMPUTER checked a bunch of stuff and thought it was "related to a driver." Regardless of what is the cause, how do I find the problem and fix it. Thank you
@GarySibley:
Thanks for the comments, and I'm happy that you found. Although I'm not surprised that an msiInstaller error could have caused a "critical stop" but I never thought that he would deliver the error never seconds.
@JudsonWelcher:
I suggest you also check your event viewer to find errors msiinstaller. I've seen other posts where a sound "critical stop" appears to be linked to these errors (but like I said above, not continuous repetitions of the error).
There is no easy way that I know to track this sort of thing. Before you start the method of 'Clean boot' or start using the process monitor, open the sound control panel applet and scroll down to check that Windows XP stop critique.wav has not been assigned to certain events in addition (or instead of) a real stop critical Windows.

Using new speakers sound problems
I just got some new speakers with Subwoofer for my computer. They had worked very well and they work very well on my laptop but now all the music and talk sounds like it is in a theater of the computer. I tried to find some settings that fix it but can't. Help someone?
Hi Jeanne,
Thank you for the information. When would you like to help you, please answer the following.
1. What is the brand and model of the speakers?
2. what player you use to play the sound file?
If you use Windows Media Player, see the information at the following link.

I hope this helps.

HP Compaq Presario Media Center SR2020NX sound card driver
Had to re - install Windows XP (SP3) on a HP Compaq Presario Media Center SR2020NX, downloaded
Original Realtek High Definition Audio drivers of
and also download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture High Definition Audio bus driver on the system according to the instructions
Yet the Original Realtek High Definition Audio drivers continues to say that UAA is not installed?
What is the problem?
Thank you
OK, I downloaded the AC97 audio codecs from realtek.com
So ran the KB835221.exe found in the popular thread Re: no sound after changing Vista to XP
Running the driver Realtek HD install IT SAYS STILL no UAA, but I clicked on Yes to continue, and this time around the RealTek HD Audio-install wizard kicked in and completed the transaction.
Kudoed, Cheryl G and also found it instructive.

Satellite P300 (PSPCCA) - new, no sound
Hi all users of Toshiba laptops,
If you have had a similar problem or know how to fix this, please help me. I bought a brand-new p300 of Toshiba Satellite, drawn by the promise of high quality sound (Harman/Kardon), among other benefits. To my surprise and disappointment, the laptop is completely mute. No conflict pilot didn't report in Device Manager. Sound level indicator volume control is alive, but not sound out of speakers. Looking for the problem on the Internet, has revealed a possible incompatibility pilot with Vista 64 SP1. No new drivers are available on this site. The sound is not muted in the volume mixer, turn the control of physical volume on the laptop had no effect.
The most upsetting is the fact that I had to spend an entire weekend trying to find a solution to a problem that shouldn't be there in the first place. That's after almost 3 k (NZD) on this thing. I mean, if it's normal, then Toshiba has a serious problem with quality control. But that's just my frustration talking. If anyone can help me, I'll be eternally grateful :).
The other important point - headphone produces sound when it is plugged in, the sound card looks very good, a show just not the speakers.

HP Media Center m7160n, sound from desktop PC
HP Media Center m7160n desktop PC
Widows XP - 32 (Media Center Edition)
Updated the video graphics card.
After I updated my graphics card were the software drivers for her multimedia sound included.
After talking with a technical support with AMD (graphics card is the Radeon HD 6450), and technical support said that it has replaced the old sound drivers because I have my speakers hooked up to the main CPU and not somehow in the graphics card itself.
That I needed to update my drivers of his old man so he could run sound through the main processor.
Help, please...
Here you can find the audio driver:
http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=228&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=470506#N183
But maybe it helps to first check the BIOS.
HDMI graphics cards settings to disable onboard sound (because the sound is offered inside hdmi then).
Check the BIOS if it is enabled.

Equalizer-indicator of the WAV sound file
Hi all!
I have a newbie question I am stuck on a stage in the design of an equalizer sound wav.
The point of my Equalizer must indicate the magnitude of the different frequency ranges, in the form of an equalizer while that listen to you. The wav file playback sound and this is an indication of the greatness (EQs) must be sinhronised. for example: If you hear a bang you also see on the indicators at the same time.
I can't understand how to set up a loop that would do this.
Now, I get only first set scale.
Thanks for the help.
You must use pieces of the wav file in order to do what you want. Go to help on the toolbar. Select search examples. Search for sound. Then look for the 'file to his \Sound Output.vi' this will give you an idea on how to do things. Be sure to save the example in your personnel file before you do any work on it.

Hello
1. who is the operating system installed on the computer?
2 - is confined to a specific DVD problem?
To resolve this problem, you can try to install the video codec and check if the problem persists.
A codec is a software to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or a video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.
A codec can consist of two components: an encoder and a decoder. The encoder performs the compression function (coding) and the decoder performs the decompression function (decoding). Some codecs include both components and some codecs only one of them.

Windows Media Player - no sound for videos
Windows Media Player 11 - will play videos (.) MOD files) and the DVD but with NO AUDIO. It plays music (.mp3) files fine with sound, so I know the speakers work fine. PowerDVD program will play audio and video very well, but no Media Player (or RealPlayer besides). I seem to recall having this problem of her before but was able to get it fixed somehow. I had to reformat my computer during the winter well and now again manage this noise problem. I don't know if it's a codec issue or what, and if it's a codec problem I have no idea how to fix this. I use Windows XP SP 3. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
