Meeting of Lync hosted

Hello.  Is it possible for a registered point SCV endpoint to join a Lync hosted a meeting with several video participants?  I used the Lync deployment guide to integrate my Lync and VCS networks successfully, but I can't get this function runs.  I was wondering if it is still supported.  Thank you.

I can't say anything on the Polycom systems, but its two parts, what video and audio codecs that are used.

In these multipoint or live meeting call, seems like RTAudio and RTVideo.

These are supported for example with the Advanced Media Gateway also.

But in addition to point-to-point calls (which work well with the VCS itself, especially with the VCS X 7 B2BUA)

I can't say if there is any provider in addition to Microsoft supporting the multi-party internally of Lync.

I think that its using some SIP owner XML extension.

In any case, you might have a Cisco / Codian MCU connected to the VCS and host a multi-party meeting

with Cisco, Lync and 3 participants out there. It would also provide a continuous presence

and not only light up like Lync.

Further, let me quote part of the:

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/VCs/config_guide/Cisco_VCS_Microsoft_OCS_2007_R2_and_Lync_2010_Deployment_Guide_X7-0.PDF

" To join a conference GPM/Lync (AV MCU)

Using a client MOC/Lync to invite someone else to join in the call does not work if the third endpoint is an endpoint registered to control VCS Cisco, or endpoint registered for control of VCS Cisco is already in the call and another GPM/Lync client is introduced in the call.

This is because when the MOC/Lync client invite someone else to join in a call, the MOC/Lync client tries to create a conference by using the e-mail owner Microsoft xml (in the SIP messages), and it is not supported by standards-based video endpoints.

Cisco VCS control or based on the video standards endpoints supports Microsoft owner signs.

Note, however, the use of Multiwa "y on endpoints can reach customers GPM/Lync in an ad-hoc conference (see the Cisco VCS Multiway deployment guide)". ""

To answer your question, no not on the Conference hosted Lync, but you can use a microcontroller of Cisco.

  • Meeting place 8.0 - disable and reactivate the Participant in particular

    Hello

I'm meeting place 8.0 Application Server (Express Media Server) installation and Web Server 8.0

Problem is when presiding officer (host), who is planning a meeting, can't cut / activate the other participants (particularly) in the same session (Act as a moderator).

Now, if we provide privilege assigned to the host, we get these rights to Mute and activate the microphone of this meeting and any other meetings running (which is a problem).

Can we have a meeting of the President with Mute / Unmute access (particularly) for the meeting, which was hosted by him.

Please provide some valuable contributions on the same.

    Thank you best regards &,.

    Ashish Bagla

    Hi Ashish,

If you have the single MeetingPlace Audio, of the telephone user interface solution there is no possible way to mute individual participants. You, as the host, can cut only all participants, and then each participant can be reactivated if they mean something.

The only other alternative is to use the Conference Manager. However, to be able to use this tool, the user/host must be either standard or system administrator user type.

More on the conference manager you can find here:

  • Host Link link Guest speed speed limit

    Hello..

It is a Question: is somehow the link speed of the host not to limit the speed of the link of a guest (VM) access the HOST?

    Example:

What happens if we have a host that is equipped with a 100 Mbit NETWORK card and a guest who has a virtual 1 GB card NIC (Intel Pro 1000 thingy). OF COURSE the guest CANNOT reach the external network (Physics) with the speed of 1 GB or vice versa since its limited through the physical NETWORK adapter of the host...

BUT... The Question now is... WHAT the maximum performance of such a guest if we want fair access network-HOST Services itself? It is a local connection, I guess. What speed can be achieved here?

    Background:

I have here a host FAT on Ethernet 100Mbit, 16Gig RAM, 2 x Intel XEON CPUs, Debian 5.0.1 and VMWARE 2.0.1 4core. My guest inside is also Debian 5.0.1 with a 100mbit NETWORK card PCnet32 virtual thingy. My host can read data from local raid with about 120 MB/s (mega bytes/s). My guest (using iSCSI to enter the Volumes on the host and so using the internal virtual network) can read about 11.2 MB/s of the host Diskdrives.  It made me courious, since ~11.2MB/s is on a 100mbit NIC maximum flow. But it is a BIG difference on performance. BTW: the same client can access data files of local virtual disk of GIS (vmdk) by AT LEAST 120 MB/s (local caching disabled). So, where is the limit and the bottleneck?

    Any ideas/suggestions?

    Axel Werner wrote:

And now you tell me... that the Networking Performance between guest and host VMWARE here is this effect limited to 100 Mbps, because I don't meet with the host NIC (which takes place in)

    100 Mbit)?

    Yes.

But COMMENTS <>network HOST my NIC speed would not be limited if I'd put the guest in a virtual network "HOST ONLY"?

    Yes.

If Yes... WOW! But... what would look like if you have Clients who want to access the Guest VM as a server files to a configuration/solution? you will need some sort of routing/bridging again.

    N °

Oh... would be 2 NICs in this guest so be a good solution? like: < USER-BRIDGED-LAN >--< GUESTVM > [NIC2]-< HOSTONLYNETWORK >

    Yes.

If the GUEST VM by wire-speed, users can access and GUESTVM access HOST of Services at the speed of the cpu. Is this correct?

I didn't say CPU speed, I said, it depends on the speed of the CPU. But in general, Yes.

  • Meeting room facility

My first question is just a very general question about how everyone organizes the folder structure for meetings in their organization.  From what I can tell there are only two possible places to put the meetings, shared meetings or meetings of users.  If someone is given the host of the meeting group they automatically have a folder created for them in meetings of the user with their login.  It seems fine if you really want everyone to be a host of the meeting, but for our Organization (we always get to know Adobe Connect) for the time being, we would like to create a meeting for a user, and then assign them to the meeting as the host.  Where would you put these meetings?  Here's what I thought of as options

    1. Put the individual meetings in the shared meetings folder (no harm, did open the permissions on them somehow)
    2. Create individual folders in t he users meetings (or temporarily assign a user to the Group host the meeting) and create the meeting it

No matter what other options or the pros and cons you can think that makes one of these options to stand out?

The second question was very basic, but what is he really a time for the meeting?  For our users, they tend to have a single room and then reuse it several times.  With this configuration with a start time and duration is not logical...  Expects to what you actually create a new meeting whenever you want to have a meeting?  Is the idea that they create a pattern such as 'Adobe Connect Introduction' and then every week they would create a new "Adobe Connect - Introduction Date" meeting room of this model?

Thanks for any comments or questions!

    Carpet

OK, there are a few things that need to be mentioned here.

First, let's address the composition of your meeting host group.

Depending on your license, you may, or may not be a limitation on this group. If you have purchased the organizing model of named licens, you will only be able to put the number of people you have licenses for this group (take 5 for example). Those five will be able to create and host meetings and must be present in a meeting room to make it work. You can assign the rights meeting host to someone else, so they can have that roll into the Live meeting, but the meeting host group member must be present in the room to make it work.

If you bought the participating competitor license model, then you can put as many people in the meeting host group you want or need, and the limitation is how many people you can have at the same time giving meetings at any time. With this licensing model, you can create a room, rights re-branded to an individual host and run the House on their own.

For folders, the difference between the records of meetings of the user and the shared meetings folder is a management issue. Access and the function of the room is unchanged by where it resides on the server. What is affected, it is who has access to the functions server side of this meeting room. So if several people must have access to the room (let use you it for the weekley staff meetings) and there is a variety of people who can host the room, then he must live in the folder shared (preferably in a subfolder for organization) meetings where all the people who may need to access settings behind the scenes access. Who is?

    Now, to your questions:

    1. simply place a meeting in their folder is not giving them access to the management of it. They must be assigned as the host of the room as well.

    2. assuming that your license allows, I would like to just creat the meeting in a folder in the shared meetings folder. You can create a structure of folders there to keep track of things in an organized way. However, if you place them in the group, host of the meeting, so that they can use the license for this session, it is perhaps better to put it in their folder and assign the host rights. Then if they need in future access to this room, you just add at the meeting of the host group, and the House would become available to them.

The option of Date/time to a meeting room allows you to organize a meeting in your room using the internal calendar to the Acrobat Connect Pro application. Is not integrated with any external calendar system. It also has nothing to do with a creation of / deletion of / or access to the room. So in short, it does nothing, please ignore it.

The meeting room is persistent, which means that, when they are created, they may be available for you 24/7/365. This simplifies your workflow to use a room again and again, because he keeps a static URL and all your content can live in your room, just waiting for you to access. You should not use the meeting for all meetings Planner. I use Outlook and create a meeting request (with a recurrence if necessary) and just include the URL of my room, it's all my participants will need.

Models for meetings is there so if you need to create multiple rooms, you can have a predefined arrangement of pods and layouts in the room that you like. In this way, when you create new rooms, you don't have to spend a bunch of time makes it look and function as you wish.

Let me know if I missed something.

  • The personal safety of CMR premise

    Hello

I'm testing the personal CMR (TMS 14.5, 1.3 TMSPE, conductor XC2.4.1 with a TS 4.0).

I have installed the TS under the conductor, the preference of installation service and a ' Feem - me "location with a specific IP address. On the CUCM set up a SIP trunk in this conductor "meet - me" IP address. On MSDS, I provissionned my user with TMSPE and on the parameters of my group, has added the conductor and created a model of CMR. I went on my personal of CMR and created my conference page.

I wonder if I'm missing something but: is the Conference PIN, the only available for CMR staff on site security?

    • No participant host AND PIN/passwords strengthened to ensure that the Conference does not begin until the host has joined?
    • No mechanism to block additional people to join during execution meeting back to back to make sure that participants of the meeting could not reach on the first meeting until it is unlocked?
    • Any way to force a user to change the PIN code after each conference / multiple use of the Conference?
    • No automatic report to the host after a conference

If there is only a conference PIN (that no one will ever bother to change), which prevents anyone from using my meeting room personal hosting his own meeting, without realizing me it, said once the Conference address and the PIN?

Am I missing something, or this type of security features do not exist in the CMR version on site?

With your current version of the software, the only thing available is the single PIN that you noted.  As you mention, if you go to 14.6 TMS and TMSPE 1.4, you can use separate host and invited him pines when it is configured with a server of telepresence using conductor.

There is no method to block a person to join a conference once they know someone address CMR and pine, unless the PIN is changed by the user.  That said, there is no way to force a user to change the PIN code, it is something that the user have to get used to if they would like to do for extra security.  No report of any kind, a Director of MSDS may be able to take CDR data for the user, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

  • Snap-in Acrobat Connect Pro software component crashing with screen-share

    Hi all

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with a problem I have with my Adobe Connect Add-In.

I have a relatively old macbook with Mac OS x version installed 10.6.8, along with version 9 of Adobe Connect Add-in. It seemed to install correctly and meetings work very well. Everything goes well until I try to screen-sharing, time whereby it crashes regularly, giving me a box that tells me that the application has stop working. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall with the same result.
Is it because I have an older OS? Has anyone else had this problem with only the screen sharing? Also, is there anywhere I can test my screen sharing capabilities except when I'm in a meeting, similar to how Skype has a contact, you can call to test your connection?

If you could help point me in the right direction with this question, I would be very grateful. Please let me know if there is additional information, that I do not forget to share!

    Hello allisonc85780560,

Connect addin is not supported on MAC OS X 10.6.8

Here is a link to the datasheet where you can see that you need to have MAC OS X 10.8 or above.

    Acrobat Connect Pro data sheet

And to your second query on another way to test your abilities to screen sharing, you have access to the meeting and then share your screen. You can share your screen, even if you are the only participant in the meeting with the host or the presenter level permissions and check the features with the function that allows to the Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro for screen sharing.

  • Clean up his allotted time on Wan

    Hi all!

We have a freshly deployed ESX 3.5 cluster to the Japan we manage from our server VC 2.5 in Sweden. It seems impossible to use Update Manager to clean up these hosts, if there are patches that are larger than a few MB in size, since he always expires when you download them to the host.

Everyone knows about this problem? I understand that it is not uncommon to administer ESX cluster spread all over the world of WAN.

BTW, I managed to install the last batch of patches using esxupdate manually and pointing to our repository in Sweden. It is not esxupdate itself which expires, but rather the VC server or anything that meets with the host.

    Thank you

    Anders

This issue is addressed in the VI4 - vSphere with staging. During the process of staging your patches/updates are copied to the guests and the hosts are running. You can then run the task of sanitation
