  • Temperature and loss of the T30 memory bank

    Background

I recently had a failure of the cooling fan in my T30.  The machine probably ran and hour or two without supervision before the failure was discovered and the computer turns off.  The fan has been repaired, re-installed and works very well.  In the process, I installed TPFanControl and acquired a knowledge of the temperatures in the system.  I am currently trying the T30 BIOS or intelligent control fan.  The times seem to have an acceptable margin anyway.

    The problem

I installed 2 x 512 MB of RAM in March.  Memory showed only 1 GB and worked well.

Shortly after the repair of fan, I noticed that my machine has apparently suffered the infamous Bank of MEMORY loss.

I am inclined to think that the Bank was induced by the temperature.

Another piece of information General, probably unrelated, is that I have lost and replaced my original HDD a month before the fan has failed.  Replacement and installation of the operating system was smooth.  I have had no opportunity to watch RAM at this time, so I can't say with certainty, that it's still OK then.  I can't see how this is relevant, but it would not let to the.

    Bottom Line

I strongly suggest the users to install TPFanControl.  Monitor time to all less and even better control the fan with a reasonable set of limits compatible with your type of operation.  It can save you a card failure.

Now I have to figure out what to do.  Someone at - he found a single 1 GB stick that would work on one side?

Replacement motherboard is not financially attractive.  If I have to, I'll live with 512 MB.

PS I installed RightMark too.  Works well for my type of use.  Nice little program.

Any laptop PC2100/2700 stick of 1 GB RAM will work, no problem.

You can also search for a company called Hammerhead Technologies, they offer repair RAM slot.

    Good luck.

  • Upgrade memory on Satellite M60

    Hello
I recently installed Vista Ultimate on my computer Satellite M60 laptop, it is activated and updated, but I think it is out of memory. I have two 512 memory banks and bought two chips of memory of 1 GB crucial to install instead of 512 banks.
It is, I can find a bank under a cover on the bottom of the laptop, but no others, abouts where is it not located and how do I enter?
I did a similar upgrade on an older model and have no problem with the work on the machine, but in this case they were both below and easily accessible.

    Hope you can help.

    Russell.

    Hi Russell

If the two slots of memory are not placed under the memory cover (lower side), one of them is usually placed under the keyboard. To access it, you must remove the plastic placed on the keyboard, and after that the keyboard itself.

  • Maximum memory recognized for a Satellite Pro 4340

Read the previous posts about the extension of the maximum memory for a laptop Satellite Pro 4300 series suggests that the possible maximum memory upgrade is 320Mo composed of 64 MB on board more than two banks of 128 MB (128 128 64 = 320). I asked Toshiba in England if the SP 4300 range will recognize the PC100 256 MB memory modules, but they couldn't give me a definitive answer one way or another - just that they had tried to 128 MB with success modules. However, the specifications of the machine have been written before 256 MB modules were generally available, and so I would like to ask the following questions of the readers of the forum:

    1. someone has actually tried a bunch of 256 MB of PC100 memory in banks of memory your laptop series 4300 SP? -If so, what was the result?

    2. even if the maximum memory that can be recognized is always set to 320 MB, this could be achieved by simply using a bar of 256 MB and 64 MB on board?

    3. has anyone actually tried to put into one or two modules of 256 MB memory in the memory banks and see what happens? Are they recognized?

It is clearly an expensive experiment to try then I would hear earlier for other people who may have already explored these options rather than buying the memory myself to see what is not recognized! I'm really interested in hearing from someone who has actually tried what I mean above (and either successful or failed) not of someone who has read the specs on the Web from Toshiba site that says maximum memory is 320 MB and then a few citations that back for me.

    Hello

I found exactly the same info on the memory modules. You can use the 128 MB module with PA3005U - 1 M 12 part number.

I have gift? t understand why you want to use this module of 256 MB. If you want to have the maximum performance, don? t complicate just use tested parts and enjoy life.

  • Upgrade memory to Portege S100

Please, I need someone to tell me how I can get to the location of memory under the keyboard. I need to switch to 2 GB. I have access to its housing under the flap in less insert 1 GB but I don't know how to get to the slot under the keyboard to replace the 512 MB with another 1 GB. Help!

    Hello

You are right. At the bottom of the unit, you will find only one memory slot!
This slot is user scalable because it is very easy to remove the cover, securing the memory bank.

The other location should be placed under the keyboard and to my knowledge it s not user scalable because the removal of the keyboard is a bit tricky.

That is why it s advisable to contact the technician authorized for these updates. Last but not least, you will lose the warranty if you open the Notepad or remove covers.

You do not want to lose the warranty? I don t think so ;)

So, what would it be? What I have to 'turn on' the use of BANK B anywhere or not it looks like its defekt?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

Well, you must replace the motherboard if the memory bank has a defect. In this case, the only good way to connect with the service partner. They might give you detailed information.

  • Satellite 4090XCDT - Memory Upgrade help needed

    Hello reader,.

I own a Toshiba Satellite 4090 XCDT notebook and it came originally with windows 98SE and 64 MB of ram, but I installed Windows 2000 pro and I need to upgrade the memory, I did some Google research on the specs of this laptop and found that this machine is capable of 192 MB of ram , but there is one memory slot, how is possible to get this upgrade when require sticks of memory 128 + 64 = 192 MB, that would mean I'd need two memory sticks to reach the range of 192 MB, from what I see here is therefore the only memory of memory bank.

Could someone please point me in the right direction and provide me a solution to my problem, any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers MagicBytes :D

When the memory is empty, the amount of memory is reported?

If its 64 MB, then you simply install a 128 MB module to achieve 192 MB

  • Dv6t 2000 CTO Entertainment Notebook with i7 processor 72QM to Max memory upgrade?

I have a dv6t with i7 720 m build processory about 3 years ago. I think there clarksfield CPU. I have a 2 x 2 gig installed for total of 4gig from the original version.   I wonder (assuming that Win 7 64 bit family premium that takes in charge until 16gig), this laptop only supports 8gig?  I ran a tool and it has a reference to logic/Chipset memory banks maximum installable memory of 32gig and a reference to the controller memory memory install Max 8gig.  So, what gives? The laptop will support the sticks of memory 2x8gig or just the sticks of memory 2x4gig?  The laptop DV6T 2000 CTO Entertainment.  If it supports 16 gig, I would just buy one of the sticks 8gig rather than 2x4gig. And maybe try to use 2 concerts with the 8gig send me a 10gig for now... or just wait to see if I need a 2nd 8gig.  And an upgrade of the bios will support the 16 gig?

I thought I would update my own question with the truth and the response of work that hopefully someone other than stubmles help in this.  But in a nutshell the CTO of 2000 models DV6t you could order 2009 about DO DO support 16gig and NOT only 8 GB. I have 2 slots. I have the quad 720QM first edition, yes first edition. The Intel site and the sites of Auditor memory are FALSE!  The saying has been 1st gen Quad cpu supports no more than 2x4gig = 8gigs.  In fact, one of my tools suggests that I can put in up to 32gig assuming I can find sticks of memory 2 x 16gig I don't even think is still for sale not to mention affordability. Spread the word because I hope this helps others. I bought memory to geek and thought that I would be lucky since I read several comments and observations at various locations, which suggests that they were trying to 16gig and indeed he has worked for the 720QM processor.  I did have to update my BIOS HP offers that I have to install to 2010ish, as opposed to the 4 or so that are available today for my model, but I think that have been updated to support my model didn't require much more. I carried out memory tests too in 5 iterations without problem, and in fact it starts immediately without any problem with WIN 7 home premium, recognizing the sticks. I also checked the CPU64z tool for the memory tab.

  • memory A6000 benches

Banks of memory on a6000 will store the functions assigned to the buttons on the camera?

    Hi zandere,

Thank you for your reply and sorry for not being clear enough. Since I posted my question I found the answer.

Basically, I wanted to know if custom key assignments the user can do will be stored in the memory banks for later recall.

For example if I attribute autofocus "back" button of the ACL button, replacing its default assignment, will be the camera store in one of the memory banks?

The problem occurs when you give your camera to a person (e.g. family member) is not aware that the hotel will not focus with the shutter release halfway, all the photos of that person will be out of wrack. It would be simple just move on to a different memory callback number where all the buttons are at their defaults and then when I want to use I would switch to another bank of memory with this update automatic button defined in the ACL.

Well, it turns out that the camera can store only items in the settings menu of the camera (camera icon).

I finally decided to do a upgrade to my PC but I pushed my brain batty, trying to figure out how I would add memory and if I should update my video card now cause my Sims 2 game, instead of smooth running, it runs a little rough and frame by frame. Very annoying. I also want the Sims 3 to be able to run on my computer, I hope I can get it all done before they release.
I have windows vista Home premium, and I have a PC I did not do anything for her, so it's a bit as if it was from the factory around a few programs of vanilla.

Adding instructions are here. When you buy new memory be sure and go to the website of the manufacturer of the memory. Use only brands so that they ensure th your product compatibility. Use the memory Configurator tools on the website of the manufacturer of the memory. Here are a few major brands for you: Kingston, Crucial, Corsair:

Change the power supply: This video on youtube is pretty decent for generic power supply switching.

Thislinkhas information on opening the cover and remove the cover.

When you select a video card do not get cards great physically (i.e. ATI HD 4870 / 4850) because they are double wide and does not have limited space. Fantastic cards but are not for the pre-built PC.

Any ATX PSU fits your case. 450 watts or therabouts enough for almost any addition of hardware on your pc. Do yourself a favor and stick the best brands such as Corsair, OCZ and others. Generic brands are not worth the problems they can bring even if they are cheaper.

  • Add memory to an HP p7 - 1187c PC

I am owner of a 2 year old HP PC p7 - 1187c that came with a HD 1 t. It is Windows 7 64 bit and came w / 8 GB of DDR3 system memory. There is no expansion slot and I wonder if the currently running system can support more memory? I could use more speed and was thinking of replacing the two cards (4 GB each), with two cards each for a total of 16 GB 8 GB?

    Hello:

Upgrade memory on the page info sheet motherboard indicate that you can install a 4 GB memory module in each slot.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02980014

If you have a module memory 8 GB you can test, see if it works, but I sure wouldn't go out and buy one on a bet.

I can't find any info on the chipset can actually adjust the amount of memory.  It shows two memory banks is without capacity.

    http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/mainstream-chipsets/H61-express-chipset.html

My desktop PC has an Intel 6 series chipset and I installed a chip memory 8 GB in each slot for a total of 32 GB (my PC has 4 slots).

    But this isn't the H61.  I think it's the Q67.

This motherboard has a chipset H61, two banks of memory and it can take 16 GB, then maybe the States?

    • 2 in the left hand of the hinge courner
    • 4 along the front

    (5) remove the case (it is tight), so I made this way

Using a tool in plastic and wood here!

    • Start at the battery and lift the case now
    • Repeat this step for hinges stand
    • Now, make the side DVD
    • The corner right by the SD Reader front has been very tight for me

Very fast and all. I'm lucky to have a disk sata hard 7200 RPM autour so I upgraded which without problem. When the level I noticed that there are two memory banks, but only one of the populated with 4GB and a free module.

I wanted to add another 4 GB module because it is not that expensive but I looked at the link above and it does not say that it suport 8 GB.

Anyone know if I can add another 4 GB module for a total of 8 GB?

    Thank you

    Hello:

Simple card for your PC page is misleading in that it shows it comes standard with 4 GB of memory and goes on to say that it is expandable to 4 GB of memory.

I would interpret who just like you... Max is 4 GB, but I think they meant you can install another chip of 4 GB.

In any case, this is confirmed looking at your service on page 3 manual, where it provides memory configurations.

    8 GB is certainly supported.

  • Memory speed (BIOS) running

2 sticks of memory installed on my HP Pavilion (model #: p6605f) are: 2RX8 PC3-10600U-09-10-B0 (M378B5673FH0-CH9) that makes them a 1333 Mhz memory... BUT when I run the HP Support Assistant, he says:

    4 GB installed memory

1: 2 GB 800 Mhz Samsung other DIMM Slot

Slot 2: other DIMM 800 Mhz Samsung 2 GB

Why my memory runs at 800 Mhz , when supposedly he can run up to 1333 Mhz ?

Is this a BIOS setting? (I don't see anything in the BIOS that would allow me to control the speed of the memory)

The BIOS on the PC says:

    Installed memory: 4096 MB/PC3-6400

    1: 2048 MB DDR3 SDRAM memory bank

    Memory Bank 2: 2048 MB DDR3 SDRAM

    BIOS version: 6.05 12/08/10

    Basic version: 08.00.15

    Thanks for any help.

The reason why he turns to this speed is because the primary and secondary memory timings have been preset in the BIOS file for optimal value that was determined by HP engineers.  You can change this, but it would violate your warranty and require that you Flash a BIOS hack on your desktop-card mother s.

A module of memory will be a SPD table encoded in its firmware, which tells a BIOS what timings should be used at speeds of different buses.

To display SPD settings available for your modules you can download and run the utility CPU-z.

HP, Dell and Sony and other OEM computer manufacturers set the BIOS so it cannot be easily modified. 'S done it for a simple reason, although some might find offensive. This is to protect consumers from themselves and to ensure that their products continue to function reliably. Most of the people looking at the BIOS settings available in my gaming system (an ASUS ROG Crosshair IV) and say "it's a bunch of settings" (or worse! ). The industry feels and probably rightly, that the average PC/computer laptop/touchpad user didn't just need to be able to screw up their PC with just a few keystrokes.
