Memory card recommendation

I'm about to get a 5 d Mark III and am looking for a recommendation on the memory cards. I remember reading that the Mark III wrote to the slower speed of 2 cards.  Is this correct?

I'll use the camera for General, non-professional photos.

Steve F

The CF card slot is a slot of UDMA7 (it is very fast).  But the extremely fast technology for SD cards is called UHS1 and the SD card on a 5 d III is not a location of UHS1.

The standard of UHS1 was very new to roughly the time that the 5 d III is released, so depending on when all the engineering on this body has been finalized (well before it goes into mass production) if the standard of UHS1 was not far enough along, we understand why the 5 d III didn't.  Each Canon EOS camera that came out since (which uses SD cards) using UHS1 technology.

But this isn't the weird bit.  The weird bit is, several photographers say have tested this (I didn't) and demand, is that even if you configure the 5 d III to write exclusively in the slot for CF card and ignore the SD slot, simply having an SD card inserted into this cause slow write speed (it slows down at a speed "as if" he wrote in the DD even if he is ignorant of the SD card.)  I can only imagine that they are both connected to the same "bus" IO and Canon slows the bus for the lowest common denominator, if the SD card is present.

These photographers argue that if you're shooting fast action photography, eject the SD card and only use a CF UDMA7 card - and your writing will finish faster so your camera erases the fast internal buffer and is therefore ready to fire executives earlier.

I have not checked myself and have not read all the articles that display specific data (how many continuous burst for RAW images I can shoot with just a CF card, vs a CF and SD card times in camera before the buffer fills and the framerate slows down.?)

  • Memory card SD in 5200-902

    Hello

My 5200-902 does not recognize the SD card.
The SD memory card reader is recognized by the computer, but not the map. The problem occurs in 2 steps,
the first step: the computer makes kling klong when I insert the card, but he was not recognized or is indicated as reader in the eyxplorer.
step 2: after restarting the computer, there is no kling klong longer when the card is put.
And the map is not displayed in windows Explorer.

Only for a very short time, the green light is on when the card is updated.

Until today the card works properly on this computer.
I used a different card with the same negative results.

All the solutions for me or proposals for tests?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Have you removed the SD card safely?
Usually, if the SD card has been used the small icon should appear in the taskbar with the message: remove the drive safely.
If you n t use this option and put the card without removing the card safely for the card or the slot can have a default.
I recommend you remove the controller from SD card from the Device Manager, and after restarting again try to reinstall the drive

I tried three cards of the same type, but still the same problem.
The cards work in my PSP and my Sonyericsson mobile as well as all computers laptops hp.

My laptop isn't even four months, and this is the response I get.
What is the use of the international warranty of two years if they cannot solve the problems...

Please help me so sad, I bought a toshiba laptop...

    Hello

The computer s laptop Satellite A300 card reader - 20 p are supported on these cards:

    8MB - 2 GB SD card
4 GB to 16 GB SDHC card

In your case I recommend you remove the card from the card reader location.

-Then download the driver for the card reader from the European driver Toshiba page.
-Then install the card reader driver
-restart the laptop and check the card reader again.

  • Atrix 4 g (stock 2.3.6) memory card suggestions

Recently, I have lost my 16 GB sandisk sdhc class 4 memory card for atrix 4g. I need to comment on a new map, as it is to say "Go how and what grade is recommended for atrix 4 g. I especially use the device for work and store files, photos and presentations power point. any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Technically 32 GB is the maximum in the SDHC - but SDXC specification allows for up to 2 TB cards and some will work with SDHC - the 64 GB, being one of them, but this does NOT all 64 GB or SDXC cards will work.

If you want to be safe, stay at 32GB or less, but if someone has a good experience with a larger map or 64 GB, it should work on your phone. This is related to hardware, software change a phone should not matter in that regard.

Other MotoXprts have used the 64 GB cards in some of their phones and they work fine. Do not forget this, you pay a premium to get the largest on the market today. 32 GB cost well now - 64 GB were always expensive, last time I looked.

  • Can not format the memory card

Canon that PowerShot SX 10 IS reformatted not 16 GB SanDisk Ultra.  Camera says memory card error.  Everything else seems to work on the camera.  Is there a way to fix this?

Your camera specifications say that it will work with the following cards, memory card SD/SDHC, MultiMediaCard, MMC Plus card, HC MMC Plus card.

Some memory cards note their speeds by a "class." Canon cameras are recommended to be used with nominal class cards 4 to SD (Standard-definition movies) and class 6 for HD (high definition movies) or more because of the large amount of data written to the card. As long as map meets the following standards for the card, the memory card must be compatible regardless of class or the speed rating.

    SD

Standard Secure Digital card supports up to 2 GB capacity.

    SDHC

Secure Digital High Capacity currently supports up to 32 GB capacity.

    MMC

Multimedia card supports up to 1 GB capacities.

    MMCPlus

MultiMediaCardPlus supports up to 4 GB currently.

    HC MMCPlus

High capacity MultiMediaCardPlus supports up to 8 GB now.

  • problem with memory card reader

bought an Acer C720 Chromebook in July, nine.  Now problems with memory card reader.  Sometimes he reads, sometimes it won't.  This can be corrected?

    Hi PatPeoples84,

Yes it is possible, unfortunately it will probably come during the service.

I recommend you contact the provider of the guarantee. In the United States, refurbished products are managed by another institution as new products. If you have any questions, thinking to send me a private message with your serial number and I'll help you get the correct coordinates.

Where can I get information on this subject? What format do I need for my computer? Why HP does not explain such things in their manual, so we don't have to go on the forums?

Why HP says these sorts of things in their manual so we don't have to go on the forums? That would be because learning things about the operating system of your PC is your own responsibility. HP provides a practical guide that explains things in general terms. I recommend you take a couple of PC course at your local community college.

All this formatting is confusing. Where can I get information on this subject? What format do I need for my computer? Some great resources are, it's the internet and your local public library and bookstores. Because you are using a Microsoft Windows operating system and you want to use a large capacity external storage device, NTFS (new technology file system) is the preferred format.  exFAT format is also supported by 10 and Windows 7/8/8.1. Manufacturers of memory cards also provide explanations many type of format, including why do not use certain types based on the capacity of flashcard sd media.

    1. Don't detect other USB devices on the computer?

We recommend that you connect the memory card on another port and check the result.

If the problem persists, download and run Microsoft Fix it and check the result. To do this, try the following steps:
    a. check out the Tips for solving the problems of USB devices
    b. click Microsoft fix and run successfully.
    c. restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

  • Camera memory cards.

I can't find out out photo transfer from a memory card in a folder or how to select and print from the memory card inserted in the drive of the computer for this type of memory card. Does anyone have the answer?

    I would recommend Picasa3 as software:http://picasa.google.com/

The import button should automatically detect your card.

  • My computer will not download pictures from a memory card

My computer does not recognize my pictures to download from my memory card. The camera is a Lumix DMC - FZ7, the computer is a HP Pavilion NY553AA #ABA using Windows 7 and the software processing associated with the picture.  The error I get is, "the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable", however, it captures some of my photos, but not all. And when I use another computer using Vista, the downloads are impeccable. Why the download does not work on my RESUME?

    Hi Vicki AH,.

This problem can occur if the file, folder, or file system index is corrupted.

On which drive you are trying to copy your photos?

I suggest you run Chkdsk on the drive on which you are trying to copy photos.

WARNING: When Chkdsk detects problems with the file system and tries to repair the damage, data loss may occur. Microsoft does not recommend running Chkdsk with the /f command-line switch unless you have a full backup of your hard drive.

You can solve some computer problems by checking a disk or disks to find errors. For example, you can check your computer's main hard drive to solve some performance issues, or if it does not work, you can check an external hard drive.

    Follow the steps below:

    1. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    2. click on the drive you want to check, and then click Properties.

    3. click on the Tools tab and then, under check for errors, click Find now.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select automatically fix file system errors.

Otherwise, the disk check will be a problem, but not to fix them.
To perform a thorough check, select search and attempt to recover bad sectors.

This analysis tries to find and repair physical errors on the disk itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix errors in file system and search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    4. click on start.

Check out the link for more details below:

NOTE: If the hard disk is large, Chkdsk may take several minutes to several hours to complete.

  • BlackBerry 8310 Smartphone memory card?

2 months ago, I bought a card SanDisk 4 Gb HC to my local ATT store (my provider is ATT). The map recently failed and the said shop SanDisk does not recommend using their HC cards in Blackberry phones, and therefore they (after an initial runaround) provided a refund.

Not knowing what 4 GB card to buy, I went to the local electronic store bought a 2 GB card cheap on sale.

I would like to have more space. Y at - it a specific 4 GB card that someone could recommend? Alternatively, a 8 GB card when I update to 4.5 (not yet available)?

Thank you. I ordered a SanDisk 8 GB card from an online retailer, whose name appears on the map as being compatible with a BB 8310. The cost of 2 GB and 8 GB is less than the credit I received the Bank of ATT.

    Thank you!

Without doubt, I should mention that some of my problems with my BB was a sufficient case, which allowed my phone to fall to about 50 times. Today I bought a new case and ATT has replaced the phone because the trackball was bad. So, if all goes well, the new phone and the memory card will work.

  • New memory card blackBerry Smartphones

Do I have to format a new memory card for blackberry?

It is recommended to format the card support before using it

  • Investigation of storage memory card blackBerry Smartphones

    I refer to the following:

    My question:

The BB presents as currently "the status file is 17077905 bytes' in the folder 'Option '. I know that this storage is common for video, photo, email and others. It means for me having at this point in time, I have still about 1.7 GB for net storage (in addition to the software space)?

    Your answer:

This figure is actually 16.2867593765259 megabytes.

However, you are right about the use. Regarding the video and photo, I highly recommend getting a memory card of your device.

    My question is:

Free State of the file is 17077905 bytes in the Option file. Does this mean that my BB already include a 1 GB memory card. You make reference to 16,28 megabytes refer to a standard memory capacity without this 1 GB card. Accordingly, I have real 1.7 GB of memory in my BB that I could use for the video, MMS and e-mail.

The reason is that the media card (should) have more flexibility because you can have up to 16 GB Media card.

    Your device memory is limited.

  • best memory card for cyber-shot

Hello, I have just my first Sony Cyber-Shot today. I bought the memory card, see you at work: ScanDisk Ultra Plus, 64GB, speed up to 40 MB

Anyone have a good recommendation for this carmera? My thanks, frustrated new owner

Wait... you said "doesn't work", which means that it works?
I don't see where the problem is whether you are owner of a new cause frustration.

If the problem is more so relating to the speed of memory card, as I understand it, the faster cards that Sony cameras can take are the ones 95 MB/s. All the works faster, but it's not really a difference. 95 MB/s is simply the CAP.

I remember someone test cards to 95 MB/s and faster, the difference was minimal strip - the conclusion was that 95 MB/s is on it.

Hello atuljains, mini opera unlike firefox for android is a full browser and contains its own rendering engine. Firefox use as little RAM and storage as possible, but there are limits and its requirements are similar to those of other full browsers like chrome or opera (not the mini version).
