    Hello

As I m wrong not the laptop does support IDE and NOT SATA controller.
If you want to upgrade the HARD drive, then you need to use an IDE HDD!

I recommend to use max 120 GB HDD, because it might be possible that larger size of HARD drive will not be recognized by the BIOS.

  • What happens to the extra 12 GB 8 GB memory RAM that I installed Vista Ultimate 32 bit?

    Hello

Could you please tell about the question in the topic?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    It's a very simple answer

a 32-bit windows system cannot use RAM 12GBs

You can install 4GBs of RAM in a 32-bit operating system; and that's the limit

Read any article of microsoft relative to your question:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929605

System memory shown in the system information dialog box in Windows Vista is less than expected if the 4 GB of RAM is installed

Read the explanation of Microsoft here and on the link above.

"If a computer has 4 gigabytes (GB) of memory (RAM) installed, system memory shown in the dialog system information in Windows Vista less than you would expect.

For example, the system information dialog box may report 3 120 megabytes (MB) of memory system on a computer that has 4 GB of installed memory (4 096 MB). "

to use your full 12GBs RAM that you need a 64-bit operating system

    Hello

First if you have problems to find and buy a plug in charge and compatible parts or devices in the best way is on the agenda of the Toshiba service partner in your country.
But I googled a bit and found that this device was shipped with 512 MB and memory 2 slots are available.
In addition, you can use the modules:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 2M 25)

    Hey,.

My charger has packed in. That's an Equium M50. The part number is PA3378U-1ACA, PA33782-1ACA and model number: PA-1750-08.

Anyone know where I can buy a new one of these chargers?
    Thank you

I really wonder that you ask something like that. Today when we Google you can buy a rocket, but looking for the place where you can order your notebook adapter.

    Anyway, you have two options:
-order by the partner of service authorized in your country
-put the part number in Google and order in some independent PC shop

    All that s!

  • Can I expand an Equium M50 with module RAM memory 1 GB?

Someone told me that Equium M50 recognize only module of 512 MB memory. The manual of Toshiba does not. Is it true?
    Thanks for any help
    See you soon

    Hi Francisco

No, this is not correct. The guy who said it was inappropriate and I guess there is no experience Equium A50.

As far as I know that the memory on laptop Equium A50 can be improved up to 2048 MB.
You need to use modules of memory 2 x 1024 MB (1 GB) If you want to upgrade the memory to 2 GB.

For me it of clear. The A50 Equium recognizes larger size of 512 MB memory.

Do you know what modules are compatible and can be used?

On the Toshiba site Options & accessories you will find the modules taken in charge:
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 2M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-2M1G)

    I hope I was clear enough ;)

I have a model Equium M50-244. What type of network adapter I need to fit a Wi - Fi connection on my hub (BT)?
Also, I currently have 512 MB of ram installed. Can I increase this?

    Hi cora,

Of course, you can improve the memory to a higher value.
This book must support 2 slots of memory and it should be possible to increase memory for max 2048 MB. In this case, you can use 2 x 1024Mo module.

I also found information that this laptop will accept this module:
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)

  • Memory slot Equium M50-164 sites

    Hello

I have the Equium M50-164 and I was wondering if the locations are intended to upgrade memory. I found one that at the bottom of the laptop and I can't find the location of the other.

    Anyone knows where the other?
    Thank you.

    Hello

The laptop support certainly two memory slots and the two slots are extensible.
From my own experience it possible s the second slot is hidden under the first memory module. If you could see the other location if the first module of memory would be removed.

I hope that this is the case on the M50 model

  • Recommended memory for Equium M50-164 does not fit

I have the Equium M50-164 in its original configuration.

I wanted to add more memory, so, on the recommendation of the Toshiba Product Support page, I bought the Toshiba PA3411S-2M1G memory (from eBuyer) module.

Trying to mount the module of memory in my machine, I found that it is not! 'Separator' plastic between the two contacts on the laptop computer does not match the position of the notch between the two sets of pins on the memory module.

    Tosh recommends part number: PA3411S - 2M1G 1024 MB (1 GB) memory PC2-4300 (533 MHz) DDR2

The memory that's happened has PA3411S-2M1G 1024 MB (1 GB) PC2-4200 (533 MHz) DDR2 memory on the box.

Someone in the forums said that PC2700 PA3313U-2M1G is the part number.

The manual supplied with the M50 means memory PC2700 .

Anyone know the number, or an alternative appropriate by another manufacturer?

  • The upgrade of memory in my Equium M50-164

I have this laptop and tells me that it can take up to 2 GB of memory. I bought the two 1 GB PC2700 sodimm but cannot find a single port memory.

    Can anyone help?

Port memory I found is on the underside of the machine and remove the access screw according to the user manual. It takes only one piece of RAM that I can see. I still need to remove the 512 MB supplied with the machine.

    Where I'm going wrong?

    See you soon

    Hello

You are right about maximum memory. Your laptop can handle with 2 GB RAM max. A slot of memory is placed in the lower face and the second under the keyboard.

To be honest, you should check if the warranty is still valid. If so you should not do anything alone. It will be very bad for loose warranty valid.

If you want to continue to do so only thanks for posting again.

  • HP EliteBook 8440p: memory modules RAM that actually work for HP EliteBook 8440p?

Hi everyone again. I scoured these forums and others and can't find a definitive answer to the upgrade of my RAM memory.

    My system:

    HP EliteBook 8440p

    2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 M640

    Professional Win7 64 bit

    133 MHz bus clock

    BIOS: HP 68ccu, worm. F.11 (2010)

    Dual core, hyper-threaded (4)

    (?) Mobile Intel QM57 chipset

According to Belarc Advisor, I currently have a 4MB of RAM Samsung under the keyboard module. The second location is empty.  First of all, more memory RAM is not sold in the UK? I know that the computer is capable of 8 GB and the Kingston modules, I just tried to install were 4GB each.  Sticks of Kingston are 8 GB (2 x 4), PC3-10600, CL9, 1.5V, 204 pins SODIMM modules and they do NOT work on this laptop even if they should.

Has anyone found the secret of exactly which modules memory will work with this specific model of laptop? It is issues of density? Problems of tension? Am I missing a driver. I have to sing the thing while I install memory?

Seriously, any help at all will be appreciated.

The 8440p uses the same memory as the 6550 b.

  • ' Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (3.12 GB usable) ", what does that mean?

Recently, I added 4 GB memory to my existing 4 GB, for a total of 8 GB of RAM.

After installation, I checked system properties to find this info.  ' Installed memory (RAM): 8,00 go-go (3.12 useable).
In addition, 'Windows Experience Index' before when I had a single 4 GB stick was 7.4, now after adding another stick of 4 GB, it came down to 5.9.
Does this mean the extra 4 GB of RAM, I added is not used and is only slow down my computer?
If yes how to do all 8 GB of usable RAM and have a higher Index Win Exp?

  • ODD on Equium M50 is not working properly

    Hello

Im having "problems" with reading DVD and CD on the DVD/CD drive internal on my Equium M50-192
During playback of the DVD images stutter and the audio is slightly out of synchronization with the video. During playback of the CD, it is slowly changing.

Have you tried different actors (Nero, Intervideo etc.) and all seem the same.
Have also tried an external drive and it seems to solve the problem for 99% of the time with the DVD (always get the occasional stutter) and CD plays OK.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Looks like your ODD has a hardware problem that must be fixed by a technician from toshiba which means you need to bring your machine to an authorized service partner.

Then I suggest you visit the following link:

Choose your ASP which is nearest in your area and then let do them the rest.
