Memory / RAM upgrade - the standard issue! -HP Compaq Pro 6300 microtour

Hello

I intend to increase the RAM in this machine (Microtour HP Compaq Pro 6300) and I'm a bit confused to a specification - latency CASE.

To start:
I plan to purchase memory from a manufacturer of renowned as Crucial or Corsair and purchase identical sticks to replace the OEM memory.

My understanding of the requirements of CASE latency for this system:
According to the reference guide of the material that was provided with this PC, "the DIMM DDR3-SDRAM modules must also:... to support latency CASE 11 DDR3 1600 MHz (at a date 11/11/11)."

My understanding of the CASE latency spec. offer of products available:

Many kits that I found almost total retail prices are advertised as being "CS7,' 'CS9', or 'CS10 '.  The few kits that I found with latency = announced 11 CASES are much more expensive (+ 20%) that those with CL = 7,9,10 (spend less money without wasting on inoperable RAM is my goal).

My question (s):

I have to buy memory with a latency announced CASES of 11 cycles?
-OR-
May memory stick with another announced specification of latency CASE (no CL = 11) function properly with my system?  If so, could it be some additional steps to configure the new installation of memory or any foreseeable to overcome obstacles?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and respond!
-Mark T.

In General, purchase memory with lower CASE ribs won't be a problem, as long as the dominant spec (i.e. DDR3-12800) memory and memory voltage specifications match.

If you buy from a name brand as Crucial or Corsair, however, you should probably ask him if they have specifically tailored to your system memory. They have usually memory specifically designed for brand like HP systems, and that would be your best bet to ensure compatibility.

  • HP Compaq Pro 6300 all-in - One desktop PC Touch Panel does not

I have a new HP Compaq 6300 Pro all-in-one desktop PC. It came with Windows 7 32 bit preinstalled, but I wanted to Win 7 64 bit so I had to do a clean install and therefore lost all my drivers.

I was able to get most of the drivers I need HP driver download page for my specific model, but the touch screen under the screen no longer works. It certainly worked until I changed the operating system. To clarify, this is a sign of close contact under the screen that allows you to mute sound, change the volume or change the brightness. The control panel items are invisible until you touch it, how the options - this feature still works. They light up, but do nothing for the levels of noise or the brightness.

I don't know much about the drivers, but this seems to be a driver for me problem. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get the touch screen works again, because it is an interesting possibility, I'd like to be able to use.

    Thanks in advance.

Hey, no one has responded to my request, but just Serendipity led me to the solution, so I'll post it here in case someone else has the same problem.

In his search for information about installing additional RAM memory, I found myself in the correct name of the touch screen, I had a problem with: capacitive controls, aka buttons capsense. Once I got the correct term was a few seconds before I got the solution, see:

HP all-in-one control panel Button for Windows Support

According to the HP support page, the little softPaq provided "patches a question wherein Capsense buttons (mute, Mic, theft and theft down) of your computer do not work after manually installing a version of Windows", reinsert the necessary registry key.

The softPaq (sp60481.exe) worked well for Windows 7 64 bit on my HP Compaq Pro 6300 all-in-one and I am very happy to have this cool touchscreen works again.

  • Pavilion dv4: Pavilion dv4 memory/RAM upgrade

I have a HP Pavilion dv4 (15-inch screen), still not sure of the model #. It's on WIndows 7 Home premium 64 - bit operating system with 4 g of RAM.

I'm looking to upgrade the RAM and wanted to know if someone knows the maximum I can develop in and also if there are 1 or 2 memory card slots? Any help would be appreciated. Ideally looking for make it if possible 8 GB or RAM.

The T6500 processor was used on the dv4-1000 series, so it's a pretty good indication that you're already in memory of max. The dv4-2000 used first processors Intel Core of gen.

The best acceleration on a legacy system as an SSD, but they are expensive for one with any ability. If you are really adventurous, you could theoretically install a Core 2 Duo processor much stronger as the T9600. It's a lot of hassle, though, and spend money like that on updates is not really economically advisable when you buy a new laptop in a year or less in any case inevitable. New models have just so much more to offer. USB 3.0, SATA-III, faster memory and processors, better battery life. It lights up.

    3. once the installation is completed, set the compatibility to vmware.exe model also be WinXP SP3 and run as administrator.

  • EliteBook 8540w: identification of Slot Correct memory for twin Enable memory RAM upgrade

I just bought an opportunity Elitebook 8540w with i7 quad core and four memory locations (I love it!).  It is running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional he came with a 4 GB memory module and I bought an additional module of 4 GB to 8 GB of total RAM.

I have the HP document that shows both modules of memory of 4 GB, it takes in the memory slot 1 and the other in the memory slot 3 for the proper functioning of the memory double channel.  All together right?

Not quite.  In the Elitebook 8540w, primary under the keyboard memory locations are clearly labelled '1' and '2' However, the locations of memory expansion on the underside of the chassis are also clearly labelled Opps '1' and '2 '!  There is no '3' and there is no '4' in which three vacant slots we installed the second module of 4 GB for the proper functioning of the dual memory channel?

All the facts on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Speed of memory after adding memory and upgrading the video card problem.

My XPS 410 ships in September 2007 with a Core 2 Quad (Q6600) 2.4 ghz processor and two gigs of 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM. Recently, I added two concerts more than 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM and replaced my GeForce 8600 GTS with a GeForce 9500 GT with 1 GB of video memory. When I started the system, all four gigabytes of memory have been recognized, but was only running at 667 mhz. Can I fix this? This means that the original memory, or the new memory is really 667 mhz DDR2 SDRAM and not the 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM I paid for? There are other possible reasons for this?

    Hi RuralDigital,

I will need some additional information to help you best.

Ø you have 32 bit or 64 bit Vista?

O do you have 667 MHz RAM in your computer?

When you use one more memory RAM clocked with one less clocked the two Rams, RAM will run at a lower speed RAM, that means that when you install a DDR2 667 MHz and DDR2 800 MHz clock speed, maximum RAM memory will be lower among the 2 cylinders speed, i.e., 667 Mhz.

Then I suggest you to check if the speed of the Rams is the same.

  • Worth to upgrade the hardware in 2011 MacBook Pro?

    I have a 2011 end 15 "Macbook Pro (MacBookPro8, 2):"

    CPU: Intel Core i7 (2.5 GHz, 8 MB L3, 4 cores, 256 KB of L2 cache cache)

Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6770 M 1024 MB

Memory: 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 (my upgrade using OWC RAM)

Storage: Hitachi 750Go HD, 7200 RPM

Battery *-he won't hold much fees and I always keep connected when possible because battery just does not last too long.

But touch wood... except for the battery, I am happy with this old trick: the performances are quite good (with latest OS X 10.11.3).)

It is interesting to invest in some hardware upgrades that it would rejuvenate significantly?

I think the following (with the current prices of OWC):

    -new battery $99

-SSD, 480 GB OWC Mercury Electra 6G $195 (it is $ 63 less than equivalent Extreme Pro)

-1 TB HGST HD 7200 RPM $98 (with cube data, to be installed in the region of CD)

TOTAL: $392 (I cut this to $287 if I cut half of SSD and HD capabilities)

Opinions? My only concern is this new h/w were in a 5 year old laptop, how does life have left? Will be an investment to upgrade the h/w wasted because of other failures in 2 years?

First of all, longevity... some still run their lighter systems 2008 as web browsers and other tasks.  My MBP 2011 sends this message.

Second... An old battery is just that - something to be replaced instead of a 'sign of death.  I would like to replace it immediately at an Apple Store... old batteries can swell and damage case/keyboard/trackpad.  Maybe not, but it happens quite often.

As for HD... all the spinny readers die subsequently.  You are wise to consider a replacement.  My 2011 MBP has a Crucial MBP (OWC is also a very good drive, and get the non-Pro is not a bad decision, if the Pro is not necessary).

Basically if it's 'OK' outside the farm, the SSD will be much faster and the battery will allow it to better function as a portable device.

< EDIT > The SSD you put into the 2011 models are 2.5, which can be reused in external speakers if the 2011 becomes unsustainable future (could happen).  So the SSD is definitely NOT a waste of money.

  • I added the ram from the motherboard, but Win 7 Pro don't consider it useful, why? The system recognizes it.

If its 32 bits, it will only recognize 3.25 to 3.75 GB. You need 64 bit if you install more than 4 GB

Check the model of the computer in the link below to make sure that it is on your computer.

Here's memory and SSD that are compatible with your computer on Crucial memory website.  As it is said, you can install a single module at a time, but given that the motherboard supports dual channel architecture, it is best to install pairs.  Read the whole page to make sure you get all the information.

While I am not sure that the memory is compatible with existing memory, if it were me, I would buy all of the 8 GB of memory.  This will ensure that it is no problem of compatibility.  You can also contact see service customer of Crucial in what they have to say.

You need to upgrade PC's POWER supply at least a 400 watt unit.

Or video cards will not work with a 250 Watt power supply installed in your computer.

The minimum requirement of the system for the HD 4650 is 350 Watts and the card HD 5550 requires 300 Watts.
