How to check a Svchost.exe high memory usage and troubleshoot

    Beautiful Basu 'ASK ',.

I think I know the answer. Visit this link

And you can download SvcHost Viwer here.

Run the following command from cmd: tasklist/SVC /fi "imagename eq svchost.exe".

Focus on the PID that is causing the high CPU.

Run SC Config = own Type for each service under this PID. It will launch each service with a separate svchost.exe.

I would recommend for a complete AV scan.

  • The SQL Developer memory usage is very high + session monitor work not

    Hello
I'm facing 2 problems with SQL developer tool.

    (1) high memory usage (about 160 MB).
    (2) when I click on tools-> monitor sessions, session related window opens upward.

I use 1.5.4 version. Please let me know if there are fixes for these issues.

    Thanks

    Hello

    (1) not much help for you, but for me, 160 MB is not excessive use of memory for SQL Developer (mine is currently sitting at around 150 MB). And then, I have been using the tool for a while and have a lot of memory on my computer.
    (2) tools > Sessions of the monitor works fine for me (DB 10.2.0.3). Do you get an error message when it "does not open upward? Which version of DB are you using? If you go through the browser reports (see > reports if it is not already displayed) and select Data Dictionary reports > Database Administration > Sessions > Sessions, does it report?

  • AVG warned me that the memory usage is very high and I have to restart.

Worms using Win XP. 3 and your suggestion, I've updated Firefox to worms. 7.0.1 and I still get this message that firefox uses too much memory, 300 MB or more.

Since I upgraded to 8.0, I started to receive the warning of the AVG. The matter of fact is that my FF has been the 7.0.1 high CPU consumption first, I was monitoring the use of memory and I don't see much of a difference in usage between my 7.0.1 and 8.0. That's why I ignore these warning because it is probably a new notification of AVG that was not available for FF 7.0.1. But each user is different and will have different results.

  • using more than 800 000 K memory of svchost.exe

Frankly, it seems that many questions post here have recently answered.  However, I thought I'd ask.

My 64 bit computer, Vista SP2 system, has begun recently in does not not having been in Hibernation.  Of course, it opens and seems to work, but things are very very very slow, or even lock up.  Then... I opened by the Windows Task Manager and find a Schost.exe taking up huge amounts of memory.

I have Malewarebytes and Kaspersky... or find any maleware or viruses.  So, what could be the problem?  What could be the solution?

Near: right now I am unable to use my computer in this State.  Physical memory is more than 71%, even with low use of less than 5% CPU.

  • Svchost.exe several process taking high CPU usage

    * Original title: svchost.exe bleeding memory of multiple processes

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1 on decent office equipment.  Intel i7 - 2600 k, 16 GB of memory Corsair, 2 TB HD.  Recently, I noticed that sometimes the Web pages would much to slow while my 5.0 GHz network turned to 15.0 Mbs.  Also online MechWarrior gave me games much more than before lag to the point where I wouldn't be able to play.  This began about five to seven days from 29/09/14 and was regularly do worse.

So I took a look at my resource monitor and the Task Manager and discovered fifteen process svchost.exe running and a svchost.exe * 32 running.  They were dispersed users (System, Local Service, Network Service), and we were shooting at 150 000 + K.  Sometimes there would be two consuming the same amount of memory, but I have yet to see more on the list do so.

I'm certainly not an expert, but I take care of my computer.  My network is password protected, I ran a complete virus scan of the system that was detected (and if it is dangerous, I'm not at all more risky than Facebook sites on my PC.  I am saying that it is highly unlikely that I have no virus.)  I also checked the forums for others who have had the same problem and there were few.

The only change I made is my network hardware, upgrade my modem and router/switch.  My router is a dual band and my computer is the only one on the frequency 5.0 but check on my computers to families that run on the 2.4, they have what seems like unusually high memory usage svchost.exe as well.  I went back two restore points, but that made no difference.

Syschk control function run as administrator has not resolved the issue as well.  So what else am I missing?

In order to diagnose your problem, we need run Windows performance toolkit, the instructions that are in this wiki

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask
  • my internet is used with any one using the computer as I think it's because the svchost.exe is corrupt, as a window comes up saying high disk useage has one an idea how to solve this

the load down on the internet limit is used in about 2 weeks, that it is with a download of large files. also, a window pops up saying that he caused by svchost.exe high disk usage.

I had a few a look at the problem on the computer and they seemed remedy and the down load was normal for a while, but has since returned to duty.

What about the 94.102.51.238 IP that has been used or linked to the svchost.exe that appears dangerous (waltmacnemas.com) as the IP of a site
and the unusual movement of the size of the hard drive even I'm not install or download something but there still increases and decreases with approximately 1 to 3 GB. my free space was about 65 gb this morning but it drops to 58GB after some time, now, it was 62.1 GB.
and it is always changing. I was so disturbed by that.

    Thank you

  • Memory usage of Firefox flies away and crashes despite Reset etc.

I use Windows Vista and recently, after he tried to update Java and Adobe plugins for Firefox browser last shot every time I use Firefox any open what really but especially if a video is open the memory usage keeps climbing and does not stop. Firefox crashes almost everytime. I tried the Reset, I tried to turn off and so on several plugins and others, and nothing has changed, but that the memory usage can climb higher and avoid crashing anymore. The fundamental problem of the memory usage crazy not stopped nor slowed down.

It starts at an average use 200 k to 300 k, which was normal, except if he had run for hours or playback of videos for hours could go up to 800 k. For now, thirty minute walk with no video and four tabs is 1 300, 000 k. I don't know what does. I'll try to uninstall adobe and then use an earlier version but I have done so many things at this point, I'm curious to know who else has this problem. I have not tested the safemode, but despite everything I need a lot of these add-ons to what I use my browser for. I do not understand why the use of memory keeps climbing even when I do nothing. I run a system scan for virus etc, nothing. I know that I have an older video, its pilots updated card and I tried to turn on the option acceleration on and out also. Why Firefox would continue eating memory?

The crash of the reports I receive look like this:
    BP-7cf4e751-66dB-49fc-8a05-083132130814
    BP-b680d967-eee5-44a7-a5e0-c1f422130814
    BP-5b457653-8B58-4ee0-80cc-32fe82130814
    BP-304b8b40-d4e5-4F36-AF10-de58e2130814

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Three of the four crash reports indicate a correlation with the Ghostery extension. The precise cause seems to be indeterminate. Can you make an exception for the video sites and see that allows, or try turning it off for 24 hours?

  • Memory usage increased on ESXi 4.1 for ESX 4.0

    Hi all

Recently, we migrated about 130 virtual machines to a Cluster of U2 ESX 4.0 to esxi 4.1 u1 cluster and noticed that the memory usage is very high on the hosts compared to 4.0.

The band u2 4.0 was 255GB of RAM between 9 guests and the new cluster has 355 GB of ram between 7 hosts.

use of the memory of the 4.0 u2 was about 60-70% and now on 4.1, on the use of 90%. Can someone please explain this. It is more difficult to understand that there are 100GB more RAM available on the new cluster, but its use all this.

    ESX 4.0 host u2 were HP BL460 G1 - 32 GB each

    ESXi 4.1 u1 are HP BL460 G6 - 48 GB each.

    Thank you

According to me, IT ' was all about GST (Transparent Page Sharing) and your new generation of CPU. This phenomenon is independent of the version of vmkernel. Let me explain briefly,

New processor generation, such as Nehalem, have a feature called hardware support memory management unit, which includes a buffer cache called TLB (Translation Lookaside Buffer). I will not dive into the details but if vmkernel detects that your CPU have this kind of functionality, he decides to use pages (2 MB) memory instead of partial memory (4 KB) pages and also do not use GST as long as a restraint on resources of memory occurs. This is why you have a higher memory usage that you expect to see.

To work around the problem (not a best practice but it is necessary), you can force vmkernel to work with small pages and trigger the GST. There is an advanced for this setting.
