  I'm a bit disappointed by the time which takes about 25 seconds to start. The main delay seems to be the time taken before the HP logo appears. It takes about 5 or 6 seconds until appear a message "press the esc key to access the boot menu", and then another a few seconds before the HP logo. After that, it is very fast.

  Is it possible to start directly on the HP logo?

  Before buying this laptop I buy one from Microsoft Store (decided to change because of the largest SSD hard drive) and this book started in 1.1 seconds. I believe it was a Signature Edition of the spectrum x 360 and there was apparently no bloatware, although I don't know if this affects startup time.

  Hi, my HP laptop Pavilion Dv6 product: LX218EA #ABV BeatsAudio Edition is 4 years old is dying.

  I did a test of equipment and is believing that the Hitachi HARD drive suffers completely.

  So I pre-order a new KingSton HyperX Savage 480 GB and I tried to install it but whenever I try to boot the operating system

  It says "A Disk Read Error occurred" Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.

  * The Windows operating system is installed properly.

  Startup configuration is automatically set on AHCI in Bios

  * The SSD is works great, I tried to install it on my desktop as well.

  * The Hitachi that I have a dynamic disk and I can't clone for the new HyperX Savage.

  I was looking around for a solution and I came up with the idea to take my PS4 Hitachi HARD drive and put the HyperX on it.

  Is there are other Solutions if I install correctly add the SSD or I will try to replace the current HARD drive of the laptop by the disk of the PS4?

  Finally fixed, first I shared in two space of the SSD on the installation of the OS, boot & init works very well. then I formatted again and installed normally without splitting the drive and starting works fine I have no problem up to 3 days of use.

  I'm looking at a friends pc, it worked fine two weeks ago, when I "cleaned" to itself-disk cleanup, defragmentation, etc... now it does not start at the top. He turns, goes through some of the boot sequence then stops. for no apparent reason. the led on the front light is yellow too after it stops.   It seems that we are both correct. The HARD drive had all kinds of errors and check the disk says it all, repaired however, this 'thing' still won't boot to the top. Not in any mode. The disk check has been achieved using another pc, and that one HARD drive boot the sick PC either. Not even a message "beep code" and even if it lights long enough to get the on-screen 'previous attempt to open windows failed..." "or the BIOS, it remains long enough to do anything. I give up on this one. Just take it to someone w / more training and time, lol. Thanks for the help.

I let it run for 45 minutes without any modification and then forced the laptop to turn off. What can I do to start my laptop normally?

  303 for the short drive Self Test error code would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the question of commissioning.

• menu dual boot Windows 7 windows xp appears not not at startup

  I installed windows xp on a 2nd drive hard as I have some software that used to run correctly run windows 7. Now I have windows 7 and windows xp installed on different hard drives. Windows 7 was installed first windows xp 2nd. My problem is that the windows start menu will not be displayed while I can choose the version of windows I want to start up. is there a way manually activate and add the entry with Windows 7 using 3rd party software, so that the select os menu appear on start up.

  I suggest to take back to the store where you bought it to check.  The problem will probably get worse before it gets better.

  I want to install Windows 7 on an SSD (I plan on getting a Samsung 850 Evo 128 GB) but I can't get one any file or installation disk. My PC did not come with a disk, only a code produced on the case. I went to the site of software recovery of Microsoft and typed code, but he told me that the product was not supported, as it was an OEM copy. I could try to create a restoration disk using the recovery on my main hard drive partition, but I heard the average success rate that was weak. Any suggestions on how to get the OS on the SSD drive?   Yes it is a way to do it.

  If your hard drive still has the partition recovery on it, you can use the feature of factory restore from the Recovery Manager which will effectively drive to the same state that when you got the computer.  Coaurse, there will be a lot of bloatware which you could uninstall before cloning.

  If the recovery partition does not work and you have not created discs recovery when you got the computer, you can order them from HP.

  If you original computer comes with Windows 7, it is not / is not compatible "Secure Boot. Please see "on UEFI and Start Menu" for more information on access to various start up options and instructions on disabling "Secure Boot".

  To boot from a valid "UEFI USB", the computer must recognize the active UEFI boot device. Some computers are not what UEFI valid "NTFS" format USB Flash Drives UEFI activate and in this case, the USB Flash drive must be formatted in FAT32.

  Use the Boot Menu or Boot Device menu to choose a source of UEFI, such as Windows Boot Manager startup, - internal CD/DVD drive or UEFI - UEFI USB Flash drive.

  I am currently in the processing you want to perform an update of the operating system on my laptop. When I bought the laptop in a well known department store, it came loaded with Windows 7, despite the operating system preloaded in Windows 8 when buying.

  I already disabled fast closing down, such as recommended elsewhere on the forum. However, after the closure of many downs and startups, based on all kinds of combination of keys to try to get the menu of boot or bios, I can't do it. It starts directly to Windows.

  I tried to boot from an aswell as a bootable USB external DVD drive.

  I tried F2, F12, F10, ESC and DEL at the start, but nothing. With pressure repeated, with continuous waiting, with the FN button, just in case... just nothing!

  Could someone provide an overview of this please?
