Boot partial Pavilion 533w / stop

I'm looking at a friends pc, it worked fine two weeks ago, when I "cleaned" to itself-disk cleanup, defragmentation, etc... now it does not start at the top. He turns, goes through some of the boot sequence then stops. for no apparent reason. the led on the front light is yellow too after it stops. I'm about to shoot both RAM and switch around as a test, but if anyone has a suggestion, I'd love to hear it. Thank you.

It seems that we are both correct. The HARD drive had all kinds of errors and check the disk says it all, repaired however, this 'thing' still won't boot to the top. Not in any mode. The disk check has been achieved using another pc, and that one HARD drive boot the sick PC either. Not even a message "beep code" and even if it lights long enough to get the on-screen 'previous attempt to open windows failed..." "or the BIOS, it remains long enough to do anything. I give up on this one. Just take it to someone w / more training and time, lol. Thanks for the help.

  • HP Pavilion DV7 stops unexpectedly

    Hi all

A few days ago, I was looking through random Internet when my HP Pavilion DV7 stops suddenly. I turned on and it loaded on the Windows screen and then off again. I removed the battery, a memory (I have 2 DIMM 4 GB) and put back the battery and the other DIMMS in but the problem remains. It's a very strange problem - when I press F2 to enter the memory test, it starts to scroll a memory check and then turns off again. When I try to start it in recovery mode or in safe mode also stops. I don't know if it's a hardware or operating system problem - of ideas?

    OK, thanks for your help

  • Pavilion m6 - stop suddenly and mystery of the power cord

    Hi people,

I got a very strange problem with my laptop from m6-1035dx Pavilion the past two days. This is a reconditioned unit and have had some problems with it in the past (both hardware and software-related) that I managed to fix me, but this one left me speechless.

It started yesterday when the computer was placed on a bed (with a CoolerMaster pad below, which I almost never separate the portable device) and immediately turn off the power. In the past, I had problems with heat stops, that I solved with a bit of air in canned and CoolerMaster pad said, so I don't think much. But the same thing happened today, and I noticed that when it has restarted, it does not recognize the fact that the computer is plugged in. Unplugged the cord/AC converter to three points (computer, converter, wall) and tried again, still nothing. Tried another outlet, blew the vents, power off and removed/re-inserted battery, still no recognition of the power. I reinstalled HP CoolSense (which I had removed several months before) and hope that would take care of things. Meanwhile, I shut the computer off again, and the LED power indicator lit on its own.

Several hours later, the computer was reactivated and placed on a flat surface. Someone tripping over the cord, and the computer turns off again. The LED power indicator is out once more, so I unplugged the power cord and left for a few minutes. Blocked again, and the power was back.

I am reasonably confident that I should replace the power cord at this point, but I want expert advice before I commit the money that him. It may also be interesting to note that while the power cord did not work, the battery (92%) had about two hours and six minutes of use remaining, which is well below the advertised battery capacity (to be noted that only Chrome was running at the time) and what I saw of the battery in the past. I think that the cable or converter can be shorted, then is it safe to use the computer at all? Wouldn't be a good idea to replace the battery as well? I will provide any other details if necessary and thank you in advance for any help or advice.

    Hi maestro35,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you are having feeding problems with your Pavilion m6. I'll be happy to help you with this. If it is running with the battery, I wouldn't worry about the replacement of the battery quite yet. As for the fact that it gives you less time announced that it could be the mere fact that the battery life decreases over time. You don't mention your operating system, this is why I have included two links below which will allow you to test and calibrate the battery. This will confirm that the battery is working properly.

Test and calibrate the battery (Windows 7)

Test and calibrate the battery (Windows 8)

I agree that it appears as if the power cord is the question. If you have a similar cord, you might give it a try to see, but there's a chance it might be the prospects of power supply for laptop. If something is shorted, then you shouldn't really use the laptop but without testing actually physically we will not be able to determine if something is put in short circuit.

    Thank you

  • Pavilion dv8: stop the 50397714 code

When changing the boot device order in the BIOS, I thought I would try to get rid of the need for a password then on the Security menu, I chose the ADMIN PASSWORD, entered my old password, reinstated it and in the box password just press ENTER, and again in the box retype , I just press ENTER..  The menu says so rather than .  I guess I managed and press f10.  Now, the password box always happens but nothing I entered works.  The stop code is 50397714.

Two questions so what's the magic number to recover, and how can I disable the need for any password at all?

When you are prompted for the password try 45095330 this should also clear any password.

  • Pavilion Dv6: LX218EA #ABV: (SDS update Boot Error) Pavilion Dv6 product: LX218EA #ABV

Hi, my HP laptop Pavilion Dv6 product: LX218EA #ABV BeatsAudio Edition is 4 years old is dying.

I did a test of equipment and is believing that the Hitachi HARD drive suffers completely.

So I pre-order a new KingSton HyperX Savage 480 GB and I tried to install it but whenever I try to boot the operating system

It says "A Disk Read Error occurred" Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.

    * The Windows operating system is installed properly.

Startup configuration is automatically set on AHCI in Bios

    * The SSD is works great, I tried to install it on my desktop as well.

    * The Hitachi that I have a dynamic disk and I can't clone for the new HyperX Savage.

I was looking around for a solution and I came up with the idea to take my PS4 Hitachi HARD drive and put the HyperX on it.

Is there are other Solutions if I install correctly add the SSD or I will try to replace the current HARD drive of the laptop by the disk of the PS4?

I hope I've provided enough information so someone can help you.

    Thank you.

Finally fixed, first I shared in two space of the SSD on the installation of the OS, boot & init works very well. then I formatted again and installed normally without splitting the drive and starting works fine I have no problem up to 3 days of use.

  • My laptop HP Pavilion g7 stopped playing videos online

After installing Microsoft updates, my HP Pavilion Notebook PC (Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit) g7 stopped playing videos.

If I try to play a video on YouTube, the following error message appears: an error has occurred. Please try again later.  If I try to play a video on another site, nothing happens.

I tried a system restore and regained the ability to watch videos - until I installed updates.  (Try the system restore worked a couple of times, but not more).  Now, there is no system restore points which act to restore the ability to watch videos online.  (I can still watch videos that are saved on my hard drive).

    Any suggestions?  Thank you!

    Hi David,

I bet you would be absolutely HORRIFIED by what I don't know such things.  (Thanks for the reminder.  I use IE as a 'Back-Up' in the future.

In addition to my ignorance, I have another excuse for you: I've been wasting your time.

It turns out that, once that you helped me to understand that the problem was with Firefox, I have learned that others have had the same problem.

In the case where another computer challenged inquirer has this problem, here is the solution that worked for me:

If RealPlayer is installed, try this first
Disable Internet download registration & RealPlayer

    Launch RealPlayer
Click on the RealPlayer icon in the upper left of the window and choose Preferences.
Download & recording, choose the left panel
Uncheck the box "Enable Web download & recording for these browsers installed"
    Click OK and close RealPlayer
    Restart Firefox

This will remove the extension of the registration of the RealPlayer browser from the Firefox Add-ons Manager.
Tip: As an alternative to the extension of the RealPlayer browser record, you can try the Easy YouTube Video Downloader or one of the other amazing Firefox Add-ons.

Thank you for your time and help!  Bravo!  Problem solved!

  • HP Pavilion dv4 stops unexpectedly

    Hey there,

I have a Hp Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC I bought half a year ago. A couple of days, while I was working on my computer it unexpectedly closes. At first I thought it was because my computer was out of battery because when I turned it on, there was no charge inside. However, two days later it stopped again and when I turned it back on it still had about 21 percent of power left. I don't really know what could be the problem. I did a scan of the computer, health analysis and tested my battery as well and they were all aware.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello

After that recovery of a judgment of my computer did a startup repair and concluded, there was a battery problem. I did a BIOS upgrade and THEN a battery check and my results showed that I had to replace my battery. So I did exactly that.

    Hi Willie,

    ·         What happens when you try to install Windows?

    ·         You have made any changes recently?

Method 1: Disconnect non-essential external devices and see if you can start very well.

Method 2: If you are unable to boot in any mode follow the steps in this article and see if it helps.

How do I recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP startup

Check the boot priority in the BIOS (Basic Input\Output System) and make sure that the CD/DVD drive is the first boot device.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

Help, please... HP says they can do a refurb more money that the laptop is worth.

    Hi Volatus,

I would say lets you do a system restore using the Windows Vista DVD to one hour before the update that has the problem of the installation and check if you are able to boot.

What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

    I hope this helps.

  • Pavilion dv7: Pavilion dv7 stops randomly

I have a somewhat old Pavilion and begins 3 days ago, it began to stop randomly. The average time it works is about 5 minutes. I thought it was because it was overheating, so I had cleaned the vents, am a pad cooling and try see if she resist longer in an air-conditioned room, but she always stops.

    Keelay wrote:

Is there anything else I can do if it is still hot?

Far beyond cleaning and her reapply thermal paste there is not much but I raise the back side of the laptop and try that and see if the thermal overload is lower if that's the case, then, it would be the fix, that you use to keep it from overheating. And if you sell the computer based AMD mobile processor and get a processor iNtel based they do better in temperature as opposed to AMD processors and will cost more but more value.

    Hello Mrlefty,

Nothing wrong with the help of Windows 7.

The fact that the CD was not recognized win 10 could be just a matter of making a Nick registration, but no less...

If you want to stop the upgrade of Windows contained 10 horse, or download, as I do this is to install a small piece of software called GWX Panel by ultimate Outsider.

    Ultimate outsider - software downloads

Click on the link above and download it. There is also a guide explaining how to use it, but the Panel is little explicit, once opened.

  • Pavilion G7 stops completely and can be restarted, once, but stops then down immediately

Not really a deadlock, as the machine stops completely, no lights. It can be restarted, but just once and only for a few moments. After that, it will not start for several minutes. It happens by itself or can be caused by hand pressure or lower right or left in the corners, below keyboard. Looks like a problem of heat for me, but doesn't feel not hot at all when it breaks down. Computer repair shop had a look but couldn't solve.

Well, my child machine is Windows 7, as you know already, of course. But I find no help PC and tools or hardware Diagnostic tools. I'm sure that they are right in front of me, but I don't see them. I did search for each word in these file names, and they seem to be not installed on this computer.

In all cases, the problem seems to have been resolved. I hardly believe that it's as simple as the local computer store looked and could not find the source of the problem. Of course, having no idea how to approach a supposed heat problem that would not resolve, even with a strong fan, I ran Ninite then disabled some Canon files and rebooted. It is on for about 24 hours, when he wasn't going to twenty or thirty minutes without a sudden power, before. I cross my fingers.
