Merge Contacts

I have a few contacts who are not seeming to merge with FB contacts. Anyone know of a way to do it manually? I tried to change the name of the google contact to the same as the contact FB, and I also tried to put the same address of e-mail so.

Open a contact, menu, edit. Menu, join, then join the two contacts

  • Merge contacts on their own! How to stop!

I have always (want or need) last names of people in my phone, a lot of times, I prefer to use a description of how we met, etc. I have 2 Bob in my contacts list, each with a unique company name associated only. Thus, for example, we tell Bob, the company has and the other said society Bob 5.

My phone has decided to merge these two people, even if they had different company names.

WHY DOESN'T MY PHONE DO THIS AND HOW TO MAKE IT STOP? This is not the first time that this has happened, it's very frustrating!

I had problems with this for months, I can't identify a particular update, but it has happened at least 6 months

I also already had e-mail on my phone from my former employer. It was gmail. When I removed only by my phone, I lost a TON of contacts. Why? I never had these saved/synced to gmail!

Does anyone else have these ridiculous questions? Help, please!

    I'm willing to switch phones!

    Hello

To keep the redundant contacts to appear in your list all Contacts, contacts from various sources that have the same name are connected and displayed as a single unified contact.

For the best interpretation of Contacts, create maps of contact with accurate, complete names.

If you want to interact with your iPhone (including through Siri) referring to any particular contact in a different way to their real name, you can then add a nickname for this contact:

    • In contacts, open the contact card for the person > press on edit (top-right) > press "Add a field" (you may need to scroll down to find it) > press "Nickname" > scroll to the top of the contact card and type a nickname (for example, "Bob the Builder") in the field of this label , under their name.
  • People App merge contacts

So, there is an option to link the different accounts such as Facebook, Skype, Gmail contacts, etc.. I tried links them to each person when the app shows multiple entries for a single person. But when I link, it does not work. Only Facebook and living are linked, but still, the other contacts are listed as separate profiles. It runs on Windows Phone 7. So, I wonder what the problem is.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app twice and now it seems that his work. The sad part is that I not did something to solve the problem except uninstall... These kinds of bugs are common (with music, WiFi) on the platform with fixes at random along the way. It's frustrating to have bugs, but when the bugs are inconsistent, even more confusing sound... I am pleased that contacts linking now works well...

Have you and your husbands contacts mixed up at some point in all of this? If Yes, what you could do to iCloud.com login to your Mac with the original account and go to settings. In the lower left corner, click the option restore contacts. You can restore the State of the iCloud contacts on this account to the archived dates, as you see in this area. When you do this, it creates a backup of the contacts in their current state, if you find that you need to return the contacts to be what he had here before you went here. If you restore the contacts on a date that seems to recover your contacts as well, (you want to be logged on your iPhone with this account then what is happening and contacts switched on the account) then after the contacts seem to have stopped catering to go forward and turn in iCloud on your iPhone contacts and choose to keep on the iPhone when the ability to delete them from your iPhone. After having done that, open a session on this account, sign in with your account and merge contacts when you are prompted to. That will push your contacts in your own iCloud.

Don't forget to go to the backup on iCloud.com after all this is done and go to settings to restore the Contacts in their archives when they were just appearing as contacts of husbands.

  • Lost contacts! Help!

    Here's the situation.

I have a new Macbook. My old man is not available, but I save it before sending it for repair (which they lost).

I did NOT use time machine to restore to this news.  There are reasons I don't want to, but if I MUST, to get my contacts, I'll do it.

I was tired of seeing all the double & triple on my contacts.  I went to help and follow-up the "merge contacts"... I misread it and chose each of my contacts and you click on merge.  HOLY CRAP BATMAN... IT IS STUPID!  So, as a result... All phone numbers are listed under "Apple."

Before I do the damage... Help!

    Some additional information:
My apple ID is different from my gmail account.
My iCloud phone is connected to my apple ID

My phone that Gmail is connected to the Gmail account I use.

My macbook is connected to the I use a Gmail account.

If I go to contacts on my MacBook, they are all together under "Apple."

If I go to contacts on my phone or online Gmail, that some of my contacts are there.

While contacts were"merge"it got stuck and I had to force her to leave... so there is no "UNDO".

Can someone help me?  Is it possible that I can get my contacts back not to mention that to use the time machine backup? I have my old phone that has all my contacts on it. Can I use that somehow?

    Thank you in advance!

In fact, I think that using Time Machine IS the way to go - do not by catering to everything but by restoring your contacts.

Maybe you are not aware of the flexibility Time Machine has...

It should be as simple as this:

    (1) open the Contacts application, then select "All Contacts".

    2) click the Time Machine icon in the menu bar and choose "enter Time Machine."

    3) navigate to a point before you have merged all contacts. Click on restore.

  • cards do not sync contacts

    Help!

With the help of MAC (OS X El Capitan, v 10.11.12), cards in my Contacts get screwed up.) Use us iCloud and Contacts started maintaining different cards on my Mac and on iCloud - but there is no way to know what contacts does. I merged contacts yesterday and had to do it again today. E problem is that when displaying Contacts, I am presented with multiple addresses - I do not know what is current, because the old data that was written more turned up. It is a HUGE STEP BACKWARDS for APPLE so difficult to manage. For the first time, I start to think to return to Windows - not a happy thought, since we have 6 mobile stations and 4 computers.

And by the way, if anyone at Apple happens to read this, there should be a way to get this key App without having to see the different ways of 'contact' Apple. I can search for the name of other applications, but this is another exercise in frustration.

Connect to iCloud on its website: https://www.icloud.com/#contacts. Determine if all Contacts are present and what you expect.

  • Combine related contacts, synchronize with gmail and contacts backup

For now, I have multipule contacts on my atrix which are "related". Is there anyway to permanently consolidate all related into one contacts and export all my contacts into a csv file for outlook and gmail?

epribs wrote:Right now I have multipule contacts on my atrix that are "linked." Is there anyway to permanently consolidate all the linked contacts into one and export all my contacts as a csv file for outlook and gmail?

    One thing is certain...

If you install Backup contact UIA in the market, you can send the csv file and change it on your pc/mac, import into gmail and then use gmail to find and merge contacts in doubles.

After its all cleaned up your contacts will be synchronized on your phone as long as you have it in your google account settings on your phone.

  • BlackBerry Bond can synchronize select only Facebook contacts?

    Hey
Is there a possibility to synchronize only contacts in facebook with my phone contacts?

MOD EDIT: Subject changed to reflect a new topic

    Hi @Vera-A

When you integrate a Facebook account that all your contacts will be synchronized to your device, you cannot select specific contacts.

That being said, you can optionally hide your Facebook contacts and don't have Facebook data appear on contacts from another location, such as your e-mail address if you link contacts.

To hide a set of contacts such as Facebook, open the Contacts application, further down from the top of the screen and tap Settings and then turning off Facebook.

To learn more about the contacts link, goes on this blog > How to merge contacts using BlackBerry 10

  • Aspects of blackBerry detaching classic contacts

My list of contacts appears to have merged my Gmail, Facebook and Linked In contacts into one list.  I want to decouple Facebook and Linked In my contact list contact information.  I want only my Gmail contacts to appear.  How can I do this?

There are things you can do and they blend easily:

The first thing was proposed in the first response you got: This prevents contacts appear in the contacts list, has nothing to do with the affair.

The second thing is that two similar contacts get linked together into one. To avoid this, follow these steps:

In the contacts application, further down from the top, tap Settings

    Disable 'automatically merge Contacts.
    Select "Unmerge existing contacts.

  • Contacts for editing and synchronization to blackBerry Smartphones

Hi, one made an absolute mess of sync my contacts with Outlook. First I had to change the simm card then I downloaded contacts from my old sim to my BB until the Sim Card has been cancelled. I'm now working with the new SIM card.  I connected up to BB Desktop Manager and tried to sync the contacts in a two-way synchronization between BB and Outlook. The result on my BB is a disaster. I have up to 4 different entries for the same contact. EG email address is an entry, home phone another entry, mobile another entry etc etc.

Is there a way I can easily get the file, say in excel format, so you can modify and merge contacts using my pc and then import the file corrected on my BB?

    Thanks for your help

    The curve 9320 software = 7.1 Bundle 1319 (v7.1.0.398, platform 9.49.0.31)

    Hello

Use of the SIM card which was the original error. The SIM directory is much less robust than the BB or Outlook address book. The SIM directory can have only a 1:1 correlation between the entry and the data... so if you have a name with 3 numbers, the SIM directory ends with three entries total, all with the same name. Therefore, using the directory SIM is not advisable for any purpose whatsoever.

What I would recommend you to do, is to use Outlook to clean your data... in this way, you work in a familiar interface and can get things you like. If it's too tedious, you can analyze the export to CSV from Outlook, editing in Excel and then import back into Outlook.

In any case I recommend the abandonment of your address book of BB... Once you have cleaned the PC data, erase the data on the BB and do a one-way synchronization to the BB with data now purified on the PC of the time.

    Good luck!

  • A lot of Contacts is more merged

    Hello

I have an Android phone, use a gmail account and an e-mail iCloud account, I have all my contacts in iCloud & Google Contacts. In an earlier version of Mac OS x, there was a specific option of synchronizing gmail contacts in 'Preferences', I used. Later OSX facilitated by simply checking the box 'Contacts' for each e-mail account in 'preferences' under the 'e-mail accounts '.

I can't say exactly when it happened, but yesterday I went to the Contacts on my iMac, clicked on "All Contacts" and all older contact cards were separated (almost, but not all, newer cards are combined & show two e-mail addresses). By clicking on "Find duplicates" did not help, so just clean things up I went if & merges all the contacts that are not merged. OK, actually I thought.

Later in the day, I turned on my MBP, by watched curiosity of Contacts, and exactly the same contacts have been split. OK, I went through the entire list again and clustered.

Today, I had a peek in my iPad & exactly the same contacts not merged!

No change to any of these devices, or new email accounts added or removed. Certainly a few weeks ago all the cards have been merged.

I know that in the grand scheme of things it's not serious, but I find it strange that once I have merged a Contact on one device, it does not get 'fixed' on other devices related to cloud. And why this happened is a mystery.

The two iMac and MBP on El Capitan 10.11.5, iPad iOS 9.3.2

    Fortunately received ideas!

    Hi Peachtree55,

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support! From what you describe, it looks like a large part of your contacts are merged is no longer in all of your devices. I know how convenient it is to have all of your important contacts easily accessible. I'll be more than happy to provide you with suggestions for troubleshooting.

In a first step, make sure that you have a recent backup of your data. Check out these articles for more details:

The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

Once this is done, I recommend that you try to re-sync your contacts via iCloud. To do this, you are going to disable your Contacts on any device where you have active iCloud. After switching off Contacts, restart all your devices. When you're facing up and running, reactivate the Contacts on each device and then check to see if that fixed the problem. This article has more information:

Get help using iCloud Contacts, calendars, or reminders

I recommend you specifically these sections:

Turn off iCloud Contacts, calendar, or reminders, and turn it back on

    1. Tap Settings > iCloud.
    2. Turn off, Contacts, calendar or reminders.
    3. If you see your calendars or reminders about iCloud.com or one of your devices, you can choose to delete from my [camera]. If not, choose keep on my [device].
    4. Wait a few minutes, then turn it back on for Contacts, calendar or reminders.

Restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

Hold the sleep/wake button, then drag the slider to turn off. Turn on your device.

Stop the iCloud calendar and iCloud reminders, then turn it back on

    1. Quit applications calendar and reminders.
    2. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click iCloud.
    3. Deselect calendars and reminders (or calendars and reminders on OS X Lion mountain).
In OS X Lion mountain and the Mavericks, click on remove Mac when asked.
    4. Close the system preferences and wait about a minute.
    5. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click iCloud.
    6. Select calendars (calendars and reminders on OS X Lion mountain).
    7. Open the calendar and reminders.

    Restart your computer

After you restart your computer, see if you solved the problem.

You can also try disabling the Contacts on your devices, signature completely off iCloud and then by restarting each device. This can help to erase the hang ups.

    Relax your day fantastic!
