Metadata import connection failed

Hi all

I'm trying to import metadata to the RPD and I get an error that the connection failed. I've set up the DSN and the connection is successful there.we have Obiee environment installation linux and OBIEE client installed from the web application on our local machines.

Can someone help me to fix this problem

Thank you!

This question was asked here in OTN several times can be > 1000 time... you could do just a little search on the top right corner would give you answers.

By the way.. use localhost:1521 / sid and see how it goes

  • Import metadata connects in online mode, but "view data" says the connection failed

    Hello

My installation of obiee is on AIX (solutions for linux will be good). I installed successfully obiee. I created a connection odbc with no problems.

I download and installed the dev admin too i.e. the stand-alone tool.

Offline, the two 'import metadata' and after the table is imported, 'Examining the data' works without any problem.

In online mode, I click on 'Import metadata' of the connection pool or file, both instantly connect. Once the table is imported, I select a column and say "Look at the data" and it says that the connection failed. Should the customer Oracle DB installed on the machine as unix? I tried to copy the file tnsnames.ora to my local computer to the OracleBI_1/network/admin directory, restart services and connected in online mode, BUT always "the connection failed".

Could someone help me with this please? seems to be a known issue.

    YES for the Oracle client.

With this many cross-browser issues, can you confirm that your system clock date, time, and time zone are all correct? SSL validity checks are time sensitive.

If you see a globe, I think that you are unable to use an HTTPS address. Usually Firefox displays a padlock or a "!" icon in the shape of triangle on a HTTPS address depending on whether the certificate withdraws or has a problem.

Let's start first of all, please make sure that you connect to the correct Game Center account. In the case of the lost village, it is extremely important to use the correct credentials when you connect. If you can't invite your village desired with the email address you are using now, it means that you do not use the right one.

To properly access your village, please:

    (1) connection using the initially used e-mail address to synchronize your account

    (2) if it is an old email, contact Apple support to retrieve your account information.

Supercell is unable to access information related to your Game Center account, so we need the help of you and Apple to find the details of correct connection that will allow you to recover your village.

  • Connection failed for an unknown reason (IOM Java Client)

    Hello

I have some code Client Java IOM that works if I have access to IOM without SSL.

The problem occurs when I try another (production) server that uses the SSL protocol

If your entry for "ORCL" tnsnames decided to 'contact' indicated info.  He tried to send a ping packet to the server identified by "(HOST = host1.example.com)". It's the only tns configuration file that is important for the problem at hand.  And we already knew what he said, since the output of your command of tnsping.

Please help me what I do in configuring the listener and tns.

    Michel

Is "host1.exampl.com" the real hostname of your machine "host1"?  Or you made that blur in your ad - thing quite legitimate to do this for security reasons.

Whatever, this is not really a matter of tns, unless of course 'host1.example.com' is really what you put in the tnsnames file, but your server "host1" became really something else.

Assuming that 'host1.example.com' is the correct value, debugging starts with the following:

    [oracle@host2 admin] $ ping host1.example.com

    [oracle@host2 admin] $ tracerout host1.example.com

  • When I click on "Show data" in the physical layer, the system throws an error of that connection failed

    Hello experts.

I've download a RPD on my local machine. I have already imported all of the tables used in this RPD on my local machine. I created the DSN (obiee_reports), and the test connection is successful.

If you use Oracle db then go to OIC as calling interface.

HostName: port / ServiceName would be one that is suitable for use

  • OBIEE 11 g - connection failed

    Hello

    Cause

Multiple Oracle homes exist which can be confusing for OBI Admin tool to see where reference libraries, the NLS and the OIC tnsnames.ora entries.
If it takes a few steps additional configuration in this case.

    Solution

    1. for the administration tool installed with the complete installation of the OBIEE server:

1.1 change the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\ to make sure that NLS_LANG key is defined on a set of characters valid for the Oracle customer used as the DSN.

1.2 Please edit the file %MiddleWare_Home%\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIApplication\coreapplication\setup\bi-init.cmd to set %ORACLE_HOME%\bin as the first entry in the path.
    for example
    set PATH=%OBIEE_HOME%\bin;%O BIEE_HOME%\bifoundation\server\bin;%O BIEE_HOME%\bifoundation\web\bin; C:\Oracle\BIEE_11g\jre\bin;%windir%;%windir%\System32;%path%

1.3. Please change the %MiddleWare_Home%\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIApplication\coreapplication\setup\user.cmd file to set TNS_ADMIN on your path of directory Oracle tnsnames.ora customer (if exists) or your tnsadmin % OBIEE_Client_Home%\Oracle_BI1\network\admin OBIEE.
    for example
    Set TNS_ADMIN=C:\oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\admin
    OR
    Set TNS_ADMIN = C:\Oracle\OracleBIEE11g\Oracle_BI1\network\admin

    2. for the administration tool installed with the new standalone installer:

2.1 change the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\ to make sure that NLS_LANG key is defined on a set of characters valid for the Oracle customer used as the DSN.

2.2. Please edit the file %OBIEE_Client_Home%\\oraclebi\orahome\bifoundation\server\bin\bi_init.bat to set %ORACLE_HOME%\bin as the first entry in the path.

2.3 Please add entry TNS_ADMIN to the bi_init.bat file to point to your path of directory Oracle tnsnames.ora customer.
    for example
    Set TNS_ADMIN=C:\oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\admin

Note to open the administration of Oracle BI tool using the shortcut on the start menu (Start > programs > Oracle Business Intelligence > Administration Tool) and not by double clicking on the RPD file or via a shortcut customized as required to initialize the required environment variables.

When connecting your BI Admin client stand-alone tool in mode online. Please note that in this case you will use the file tnsnames.ora on the BI server, so please make sure that your connection pool has the correct entries to your oracle DB and the file tnsnames.ora on the BI server has the corresponding entry of the TNS.
Please make your TNS entry, it's with the same name as the SID. TNS_ADMIN environment variable must also be defined on the BI server to point to the location of the tnsnames.ora file.

  • OBIEE 11 g - Essbase connection Failed

We strive to connect to 11.1.1.3 version of Essbase new OBIEE 11g version and get the message "the connection failed". We were able to connect to the server of the Essbase Server OBIEE using the Excel add-in.

Were can I get more information about this message failed to connect (OBIEE newspapers?)? Has anyone encountered this problem?

    Thank you.
    Glenn

    Hi Glenn,.

You can have a directory named EssbaseClient instead. The EssbaseClient\bin directory contains the files necessary for a client to connect to an Essbase server. You want to search, to ensure that you have the right directory, the key file is essapin.dll which is one of the main dll Essbase API. In addition, the EssbaseClient directory also has a local subdirectory that contains, I think, localization files.

The name of the directory, EssbaseClient, is not really important. What is important is that there is an environment variable named ARBORPATH pointing to this directory. In a recent version of Essbase, there was a new introduced environment variable, ESSBASEPATH, that points to the same directory. Is I know by experience that you need these two environment variables. In addition, %ARBORPATH%\bin must also be included in the PATH environment variable.

I have a DSN configured in the window box and be able to import database objects.

Certainly, you create the DSN with the 'Oracle BI Server' driver?

When you create or change the DSN, try checking the 'Connect to Server BI Oracle to obtain default settings for the additional configuration options' and click Next. If your DSN is correct, you will get another screen. If not you will get a more descriptive error message, e.g. «...» Authentication failed... «or «Could not connect to port 9703...» "etc.

[EN] When I opened sites like facebook.com and youtube.com , I get the message "secure connection failed". How to solve this problem? Other sites like google.com, 9gag.com , and instagram.com (basically every other site I tried) are doing well!

What antivirus security software do you have?

There are security software such as Avast and Kaspersky that intercepts secure connections and sends its own certificate.

If you cannot inspect the certificate by "I understand the risks", then try this:

Open the "Add Security Exception" this URL chrome by pasting into the address bar of Firefox and check the certificate:

    • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.XUL

In the field of location of this window, type or paste the URL of the Web site.

    • retrieve the certificate via the button 'Get certificate '.
    • Click on the "view..." button. "to inspect the certificate in the certificate display

You can check details such as the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the certificate display.
Check which is the issuer of the certificate.
If necessary, you can attach a screenshot that shows the display of the certificate.

  • "Secure connection failed" that occur on the growth of number of sites, v40.0.2

I'm on a Mac network and many of us become "secure connection failed: the page you are you are trying to view are not visible because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified." This number of sites displaying this error increases. It was just Wikipedia.org at the beginning, but now I can't access Mozilla.org! I have tried virtually all solutions that have worked for others, without success, including:

-Uninstall of Firefox and install the 40.0.2 version

    -setting 'security.tls.version.fallback - limit' 0 or 1

    -setting in "security.tls.version.max" to 0 or 1

    -disable the 'security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_128_sha' and 'security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_256_sha '.

    -Uninstall and creating a profile

-Check without plugins or add-ons are causing the problem

    -Refreshing Firefox

And probably others I don't remember. I wish I could put more details browser, but can't because I can't get on Mozilla with Firefox. Please help and thank you very much!

Which site gives you inappropriate alert rescue - the main www (https://www.mozilla.org/) or this support site? Or is this only a problem when you use a partial domain that redirects, such as https://mozilla.org/?

Both this site and the www site use TLS 1.2, so Firefox does not need to return to TLS 1.0 in both cases. In addition, Firefox should have no problems connecting to Wikipedia.

It seems that you do not have a direct connection, there is a proxy server or something else between you and the site or malware.

If it's common throughout your network, it might be a common agent or something wrong with the router/firewall.

  • Secure connection failed for Nginx + Comodo PossitiveSSL while SSLlabs Score is A +.

I own the Web site https://vzinity.com that runs on Nginx and uses a Comodo PossitiveSSL cert.

I tested the installation of SSL to https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=vzinity.com and it gets a grade of A +.

I tried opening the site with many browsers, but I don't see this problem in Firefox. When I visit the website using Firefox 39 (Windows 7, Windows 8.1, 10 Windows and Linux Mint) I get the following error:

    The secure connection failed

The connection to vzinity.com while the page is loading.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

That looks like a problem with bad sniffing user agent.

It works for me if I change date 20100101 in Gecko/20100101 in on user agent (same Gecko/20100102 works, only Gecko/20100101 does not work).
