method of encryption of password for data source (coldfusion 11)

Hi guys, what method of encryption that ADOBE ColdFusion 11 is used for the data source password encryption? Anyone know? Really appreciated for the answer

11 ColdFusion is using the AES/CBC/PKCS5Padding algorithm to encrypt the password stored in the file "NEO - DATASOURCE.xml" and it is the 128-bit key.

Thank you

Vikram

It seems that you have recently installed Coldfusion. I say this because recent versions of Coldfusion no longer ships with JDBC to MySQL driver. You must therefore download and install it yourself.

To do this, go to the download page of the MySQL JDBC driver. Select the platform independent as a platform connector. Download the ZIP file independent of the platform mysql-connector-java - x.x.xx.zip. (x.x.xx represents the version number)

Extract the ZIP file. Open the folder that results and search for the driver. It is a JAR file called mysql-connector-java - x.x.xx - bin.jar (x.x.xx represents the version number). Copy the file in the directory lib to Coldfusion.

Restart Coldfusion. Voila - you're ready to go.

  • Encryption of password for the FDM script

I am currently on Hyperion 11.1.2.1 which runs on Windows 2008 Server SP1 and uses Oracle Database 10 G as a backend.

Currently, I have a script within the application of FDM which pulls data from database and load in the table of the application of the FDM.
It works all fine and does the job as expected.

But the only problem with this script, it's that the passwords are in a readable format that is specified in the parameters of connection as below

    Code snippet:

    Dim connectionString

    ' * Create the connection
Sun connection: connection = CreateObject ("ADODB. Connection")
Dim lines: set lines = CreateObject ("ADODB. Recordset')
    connectionString = "Provider = msdaora; Data Source = TestRdbms; User Id = Testuser; Password = password567; »

    ' * Open connection
    ConnectionString Connection.Open

Is there a way to make sure that this password is encrypted or not read by the user/admin.?
Please give your suggestions on this.

To use the udl from inside your script just to replace your line

    connectionString = "Provider = msdaora; Data Source = TestRdbms; User Id = Testuser; Password = password567; »

    with

    connectionString = "File Name=C:\Path\To\Your\SourceDB.UDL";

  • File encryption of password for the planning

I ran most of the planning utilities. When I run the utilities it ask for password. I need to use the encryption password to the password file. I don't really know the process. How to get the file. Could you guide me please I have read planning 11.1.2.1 admin guide page No 44-55. But I couldn't get the idea. Could you please guide me how to PasswordEncryption file?

    Thank you

You have two options either just a key to enter without giving the password file (ignore this password file argument, past the rest of the arguments), all public services will ask for the password automatically to the next step.

    Or
You can use the PasswordEncryption utility to generate a password file:

    1. go to Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\Planning\planning1 via the command prompt.
    2. give the command as PasswordEncryption.bat
    3. press ENTER, it will ask for the password.
    4. Enter the password,
    5. your password is encrypted in your MyEncryptedPassword.txt who will be in the default Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\Planning\planning1 location, you can give the file name with any other place (in step 2), if you want to.

Move this file to other utilities as an argument.

  • Checking the connection failed for the source of data on port 1433

Try to set up a DSN for a database of SQL Server on a new computer and it fails every time.

Connection verification failed for data source: csf

java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: error [Macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] establishing socket to host and port: SANDYPC:1433. Reason: Connection refused: connect

The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: error [Macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] establishing socket to host and port: SANDYPC:1433. Reason: Connection refused: connect

Now, when I installed the CF 11, it is installed on port 8500.  However, when I try to change the port in the configuration to 8500, I get this error:

    • Connection verification failed for data source: csf
java.sql.SQLException: timed out trying to establish connection
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: timed out trying to establish connection

I can't find anything online about how to solve this problem!  Help!

    Hello

Is that SQL Express edition? If so maybe TCP protocol is not enabled. Windows Firewall is enabled? Check port 1433 is open.

Normally you would not create a data source to the apache 8500 port, which is a web server not Database not the port of the server.

  • SQL server 2000 data source

I have CF running on Server 2003 R2 standard 7.0 and sql server 2000.
I configure sql server to use windows authentication and created a SQLService system for her user name to use.
Everything is on the same machine, and I just want to make a data source...
I've tried about 30 different combinations of things and get in every time the same error...:

Connection verification failed for data source: dragon1
java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] error socket creation. Connection refused: connect
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: error [Macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] socket creation. Connection refused: connect

I put 127.0.0.1 for the server, port 1433
I tried to put in the SQLService username and password, as well as my administrator username and password, and got the same previous error on both. I tried to use localhost and (local) for the server, without success.

Can someone tell me what im doing wrong?
This is a default error message that always appears, or you would get a different error message if it was just the wrong username and password?

    Any information would be helpful!

    Thank you!

I'm new to MS SQL and do not know if I put it in place correctly. My settings for the DS are as follows:

Server: localhost port 1433 (if I change (local) takes the time out)

I have the DS, Database, login, password everywhere. The password and the name is for cold fusion to be able to execute queries and correct stuff? It is not a defined password to access the database? The database has been imported from a system to the top and is located at ServerName\Databases\DB_Name. I need to plug the DB to MS SQL Server somehow? I can
display database tables, columns, but not connect. any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Cannot create the data source to SQL Server

    Hi people,

I am running IIS, Windows XP SP3, SQL Express 2005, Trial Version of ColdFusion 9 (no patches).

The administrator using ColdFusion, when I try to create a data source for SQLExpress 2005 (SQL Server Express), by using the SQL Server driver, I get the following error:

Connection verification failed for data source: AMT
java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] the requested instance is not valid or is not running.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] the requested instance is not valid or is not running.

The "instance", which I interpret as meaning the database instance, is "machinename\SQLExpress" (it is a so-called "named instance").  That's what I enter in the "Server" field of the display (data & Services-> sources-> Microsoft SQL Server).

However, I am able to create an ODBC data source name in Windows using the driver Microsoft SQL Server Native Client Version 09.00.3042 and the same instance, "machinename\SQLExpress".

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong?

Try to use the domain name TCP/IP (or IP address) and port instead of the info of the connectivity of Windows style.  You may need to enable TCP/IP as a network on the DB server protocol well (I think it is disabled by default on SQL Express Ed).
