• Series/PS2 for Optiplex 3020 Micro card

  I need a 'real' serial port on a number of Optiplex 3020 Micro systems and cannot find the Dell Reference number for the card series/PS2 option.

  I have studied the possibility of using a USB-to-Serial adapter, but was deterred by the seller of software and accessory equipment which should be connected via a serial port.

  Several articles seem to indicate that there is a series/PS2 expansion card:

• OptiPlex 7040 Micro missing heatsink heat from the chipset - is this normal?

  I bought an OptiPlex 7040 Micro system about two weeks ago. After the opening of the system, I noticed that the heatsink for the chipset (Q 170 Skylake) is missing. You can see in the image below.

  

  Photos of the user, in fact downloaded manual from Dell, you can find the image with a heat sink as usually installed on motherboards.

  

  Because the German Customer Service isn't really a help for me, they always send me different pictures of the other motherboards than mine, sometimes of the previous Micro 9020, my question is this:

  Really missing heatsink (accidentally forgot to install at the factory) or is it planed out of the system for reasons?

  Because I don't want to let change possibly latest main map by an elder of the customer service to the Germany, it would be good if someone relay knowing that the facts could answer.

  There is no heater on this chipset on the 7040 M.

  I checked the internal images of the motherboard, and they show no heatsink during this particular chip.

  Also on your image of the motherboard in your system, you will notice that there are 2 positions on the motherboard where the clip holders would be located (circled in white) and real clips are not soldered to the motherboard showing that the radiator and the following clips are not needed

  

• Zoom TAC2R or other fast ultra interface boards

  Hi all

  My rig software concert revolves around MainStage running on a MacBook Pro 15 "and MOTU Ultralite MK3 interface audio (FireWire only) and I am very happy with it. However, I try to have a second, smaller, ultra portable configuration that I can just throw in a backpack for small gigs I need just my AMT sax clip microphone (using its wired configuration) and the Yamaha WX5 wind controller. For my proposed Setup, I'll only need 2 x e/s with MIDI I/o (although more is always nice!) and it must be a unit completely powered by the bus. I am impressed by what I saw of the Zoom TAC2R in terms of price, I/O + MIDI, is the Thunderbolt connectivity (must be pleasant and reliable with very low latency) and bus power but would appreciate the thoughts of someone who has used this device, or can you recommend something similar for my budget and requirements. I can get the TAC2R because THE $ 398 delivered, and it's really not cheap here in Australia. My ideal unit would be RME or AU, but I can't justify the expense for a backup system that I will not use it all the time. My primary rig has micro system wireless and wireless in ears, wireless MIDI etc. and it is only a configuration 2RU, there are moments where I would like something smaller and a little more discreet.

  There are a number of interfaces autour in my price range, but my main considerations (other than/o, MIDI, and bus-power) are very low latency, stability of the driver, portability and small physical size. I excluded M-Audio from the beginning because I've heard so many problems with these. I also prefer to stay away from FireWire 400 units because a) FW 400 is now old, and b) I'd rather watch the new connectivity options.  I'm also eager to hear about the quality of the amps before, especially as to whether they are on par with or lower than the MOTU Ultralite.

  Any thoughts?

• Security certificate error

  Hello.

  I bought a laptop Dell Mini Inspiron in August for graduate studies. At first, I don't have a problem connecting to Internet Explorer by using the school WIFI service. However, after the first week, I developed a problem where I can't connect IE without problem "security certificate". The error is pink/red and States that
  "THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SECURITY CERTIFICATE FROM THE WEBSITE...". The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid. »

  Then it gives me the opportunity to perform on the site. While I can use internet, I always get this PINK/RED warning on the certificate. I know that after doing extensive research on this:

  1. the problem is not a question of TIME. The date and time is set to the exact time.

  To make things easier... I have Windows XP and IE usage.

  Find it me hard to believe that the school certificate has expired. Secondly, I see another student using the laptop in the school without problem.

  Any help or assistance would be useful.

  If you followed this link correctly, then Yes... it was ok. Both links will introduce you to the java components more up-to-date. A score more. You should check your ' Add/Remove' programs for older versions of Java that can always be installed. Have no idea what version you had before you updated, I should say there are some older Java components that have been exploited and create a slight security risk. Unless you KNOW for sure that you updated to have only the Java 10 installed and none of the other older components update, you must uninstall all installations of java that you can find with the exception, of course, that you just installed.   Your dsl is your school Internet connection? You did not say whether or not your wzc service was launched. Have you had a look to see how it is configured? He started or not?

  .Mdb and .ldb file extensions are used by the Microsoft Access database program. .mdb is a .ldb file is a lock file. You may be able to consult the data base with Access runtime, downloadable here:

I told them no, I didn't spend $200.00 for them to fix and remove the problem that was to have my old pc of 3 months. I went back picked it up and they said well we have windows to start up, but does not remove the virus, well after returning home and running analysis trend micro system with microsoft security essentials and CC Cleaner full nothing was found on my system. I only got lock up once on me over the last 4 weeks Ive got back, but when I went on the best shopping site I noticed that most of the people who gave user reviews and booought this portable paticular all have something in common pc freezes when windows start right at the point where the screen is about to go to windows and he said wait a moment before it switches on your office. Please if anyone knows why or what's going on with this portable paticular or can give some help or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.   Do you have the drivers updated through windows update? If so bad move, all drivers must come from Lenovo.

  I worry a bit with the version of update of virus that I see when I run a 'see the version' on our IPS (AIP-SSM-10)

  I get the following output...

  Definition of signature:

  Update of the signature S369.0 2008-12-06

  Virus update V1.4 2007-03-02

  I thought the update of virus was included in the definitions of signature, and as a result, I would have expected the date should be the same on both (i.e. 2008-12-06).

  Can someone explain if that's OK? where I can get the latest virus update...

  This is the latest version.

  V signatures are created by Trend Micro Systems when a major virus/worm outbreak occurs and an update of emergency is necessary.

  The V update can then be deployed via a Cisco ICS Management Server.

  But it was not a great emergnecy epidemic in the last 2 years that required a special signature update V.

  Instead the signatures of viruses/worms the last two years have come to be included in the procedure of updating signature standard and figuratively in our standard S signature levels without the need of special emergency updates.

  Often the vulnerability was already detected by an update of standard signature S before the virus/worm started to spread.

  Why HP, largest manufacturer of PCs in the world, said nothing?  Some of the solutions envisaged by the sellers who actually contacted their clients (what a concept) include the replacement motherboard, motherboards, etc., accelerated replacement warranty extensions home. They have at least the courtesy to say something.

  Intel has already planned $700 million to pay for repairs. It seems that sellers taking advantage of this and offering solutions that have the least absolute impact on customers who have adopted this new technology so quickly. It's the kind of situation where every speech dealing with customers gets really shown be a lot of marketing BS or can actually manifest as really take care of things and real customer loyalty.

  Welcome to the forum.

  In fact, you cannot convert a mono source in true stereo, because it requires two microphones., but you can convert it to 2 mono channels. The difference is that you have the same signal on both channels, unlike stereo ture, where signals differ according to the micro system.

  According to Steve, you can fill out to the left, or fill right, or you can just drag another Instance of your Audio Clip to a different Audio track mono. In the Audio Mixer Panel, you can pan to the left and one right.

  Also, just like pre your mono 2 channels output mix, it will give you 2-Channel Audio signal even in the two ways, if you let the Pan toward the Center.

  I got a lot to me for 2 engineering sample q7wj (x 5560 in a1 stepping) pulled from a working sun micro system. I really want that it's a huge update of my double e5506 underpowered (ugh) I have been in charge of research and searching everywhere online. I can find the info in 2 places on the processors q7wj but no information if the motherboard in the T5500 supports these. My other question is there way to change the bios in the t5500 to accept these, if it is not?

  The cpuid and firmware are not supported for engineering samples.

  Changing the processor at all is not supported by Dell.

  SSDS all have sons the same size and holes threaded on the bottom and sides.  They all use the same fine metric threads live short (short, so they don't lower).  These screws must come with the adapter, and I live in general using the lateral holes.  Parts of the adapter have threaded, 3 holes and you will use the back ahead and away from those for channels of the drive Bay.  If you look at each side of a standard 3.5 "HDD, you will see the same same spacing holes.

  Some jobs need the SSD to shift to the left so the orientation of the SSD SATA power and data ports match exactly where they would be if the current drive was a 3.5 "HARD drive clutter.  An example is the drive in a Z620 of drawers which accept 3.5 form factor devices "and slides of drawers in the deep part of the case and automatically mesh with ports of power/data SATA back inside.

  Jobs that fuel just a loose cable and the data cable for the SSD is really doesn't matter much if the SSD is an adapter which keeps it more centered or offset to the left.  I've seen cases where a disk HARD 3.5 "given in the lower Bay and a centered SSD is in the upper drive Bay and there was nearly not enough cable length to reach easily shifted left for drives staggered in the Center.  You can see in the photo below that the Garland of feeding on the HARD drive has two unused SATA power below connectors, and there is not a lot of room between them.

  The card you chose seems good... solid metal.  For the HP 8200 Elite CMT I have access to screws 4 total special 6-32 UNC silver HP threaded screw threaded back ahead and away from the screw holes on both sides of the adapter, and then you use the extraordinary end threads metric short screws mentioned above to fix the SSD to the adapter, as shown in the pictures of Amazon.  These HP silver screw 6-32 no metric I'm talking using Torx or flat screwdriver and their leaders are trained to slip into the channels of the drive Bay.

  There are also other designs which are designed specifically for some HP workstations that include mounts insulation rubber with the sliding mechanism.  I don't think you have that... Here is a picture of eBay one of the 8200 Desktop Elite CMT demonstrating the existence of space on the left for 8 of these silver screw to store, which 4 are missing and used on 3.5 "single drive, you see there.  Don't throw those... they are not something, you can go to Ace hardware and buy.
