    Hi!, thanks for this forum.

Okay, I bougth a satellite 1800-100 four years ago in a shop, here in Spain. I improve my memory with a module of kingston pc100 144 pin with 256 MB. I mounted this module because this motherboard FSB is 100 Mhz.
Now, my laptop has 384 MB of RAM.

But, I would like to increase the speed of my 1800-100

I opened the laptop to investigate the resources inside. I mounted and dismounted several times, CPU Intel celeron 800 Mhz processor. But I Don t know if it is possible to have more information on the characteristics of motherboard'internals. I would like to know which is the microphone the quicker one can get in my book. ¿Celeron 900, 1000, 1100 or more? Where can I get a pentium III 800, 900, 1000, 1100 or more? I didn t see indications or jumpers in the motherboard on the tensions, or speeds and I Don t now if this motherboard determines automatically the voltage and speed when the microphone is mounted. I have 1 or 2 microphones of fastest in the House, and I want to ride in my laptop
without the risk of burning the microphones or the motherboard. Is posible to find information on our satellite motherboard. I Don t know who is the superior of technology of microphones that are supported in my 100-1800.
It is the only way to increase the speed, because the chipset is not really good, and cheap nor quick. I think that when someone buys a computer, desktop computer or a laptop, it can receive all the documentation about the inner workings of a computer, so isn´t?

I m sorry for my questions severals, but I m very intetesred with this problem...

    Thank you all...

    Hi, Rob

Information about the technical details on his books will be no manufacturer of space available.

A laptop is high designed compact Machine, which is not
be for the upgrade of this element by anyone.

OK, hard drive and memory are no problem as long as you can catch this part by opening a ceiling with screws.

So finally, you won't find the technical details of the motherboard is this Forum here, the only chance I have is to talk directly to a technician of Toshiba.

Maybe he'll tell you a bit about you looking for ;)

    Hello

    Have a look here:

Generally, the upgrade of the CPU is not supported but some users here in the forum have been able to upgrade the processor.

You would have a good chance with these updates using a processor from the same family.
In addition, you should check the properties of the chipset. It is important this laptop s chipset would support the new processor. Otherwise, you won't be able to use it.

    Hi Filipe

Generally, the upgrade of the CPU is not very easy on laptops and undesirable. In my knowledge Toshiba doesn't supports CPU upgrade and you will lose the warranty if you open Notepad.

As far as I know the microprocessor used in the Satellite P100 series (Intel Platform) will be different by the model.
    It supports the following processors:

    Intel Core Duo T2300(1.66GHz); T2400(1.83GHz); T2500 (2 GHz); T2600(2.16Gz); T2700(2.33Gz) FSB: 667 MHz

Intel Core Solo T1400(1.83GHz); T1300(1.66GHz); FSB: 667 MHz

    Intel Celeron-M (Yonah core based) 410; 420; 430; FSB: 533 MHz

Hope I could bring this matter to light.

  • G61 - 320CA: upgrade CPU for laptop PC HP G61 - 320CA

    Hello.

I bought this laptop in 2005 (new)

Product name: HP G61 - 320CA (laptop, laptop)

    Product number: VM345UA #ABC

Microprocessor: of GHz AMD Athlon II Dual-Core processor for notebook PC M300 2.00

Cache of the microprocessor;         1 MB L2 Cache

Motherboard:, DAOOP8MB6DO REV: D (cannot distinguish if they are zeros or letters after DA and P8MB)

also written near the edge 16 "OP8

After a good cleaning, I realized that I have the opportunity to upgrade the processor. The processor is removable.

The installed processor is an AMD Athlon II

Is there by chance, a way to find an upgrade to this processor that would be compatible with the laptop?

Technical support told me that Intel were not capatible to stick with AMD but it coulndn can't tell me which one I could install.

This laptop is no longer under warranty, but it is in perfect condition. I would like to find a faster processor compatible.

Even if abandoned, I know I can find an upgrade on eBay (as any one of my office PCs.)

    Thx a lot

    Here is the Manual:

    Manual

    Top of page compatible processor:

They are practically giving these AMD processors because there is simply no demand away. It might be a fun project and if you have already opened it upwards and I saw how to remove and replace the processor at this price, you might as well. There will be an improvement, but don't expect miracles. Let us know if you need help most.

  • Qosmio F10: processor upgrade is not possible?

    I have a Qosmio F10 has a 1.7 ghz processor.

Is it possible to update. I'm doing some serious video editing and need at least 3.0 ghz

    Hello

Usually it of not possible to upgrade the CPU on laptops because of several reasons.
But I read in this forum that some users here in the forum were able to replace the CPU on different laptops.
However, this replacement will kill you warranty and if you do something like that you can do at your own risk!

    AFAIK the QOSMIO F10 series are a Pentium-M processor high-performance all-in-one PC.
The microprocessor used depends on the model, but these processors were shipped with this series F10
Mobile Intel Pentium - M 1.50 GHz (processor number; 715)
Mobile Intel Pentium - M 1.60 GHz (processor number; 725)
Mobile Intel Pentium M 1.70 GHz (processor number; 735)
Mobile Intel Pentium - M 1.80 GHz (processor number; 745)
Mobile Intel Pentium M 2.00 GHz (processor number; 755)
Mobile Intel Pentium M 2.10 GHz (processor number; 765)

It seems that the mobile Intel Pentium - M 2.10 GHz is the CPU more powerful that could be used and is compatible with the motherboard and you.

  • Satellite L30-134: CPU Upgrade

    Hello!

I want to replace the CPU in this notebook. I'm confused because I can't find any information that UC is supported by the BIOS.
    I tried: T5500 (SL9U4), T5600 (SL9SG), T7200 (SL9SL), (SLA3P), T2600 (SL8VN), T2400 T7300 (SL8VQ). After you have installed one of these processors, system unbootable.
Startup failure with Core 2 Duo is not surprised. Merom has a different pinout than Yonah. :)
Why Jonas has not started up?
Jonah Core Duo has the same pinout, the power required as Celeron Yonahs.
BIOS has some "CPU lock" to restrict the replacement of the CPU by user?
Does anyone know why Jonah Core Duo can not work?

    Hello

the problem is that any CPU you install that does not appear in your ad, it won´t work. The machine you own has an ATI RC410 chipset that can handle the following CPU´s:

    Pentium M
    Celeron M (dothan)

That means that this chipset can handle that CPU´s with the core of dothan and earlier versions (P4, P4 Xtreme, etc..)

And my personal opinion regarding an exchange of CPU in a notebook:

If you have the proper tools to update the BIOS/DMI/microprocessor-code on the computer (where the tools are not available for the techies Tosh) then you must know what maximum TDP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_Design_Power) cooling system machines can handle.
And it is also information that is available for the techies Tosh.

Believe me, I tried several times to update some of my mobile machines and whenever it was linked to many problems, so I recommend all of my own experience to upgrade the processor.

    Hello world

    Details of portable illustrated signature.

I need to upgrade my Vista to XP Pro laptop. The HP site does not really provide any medium for XP as you can see here, it's just the quick launch buttons and the update of the HP software:

I have the software that is running vista other than the fact that I don't just not like vista used. I managed to get pretty much everything works under XP except for 1 driver missing in the device as Manager indicated below:

    Video (VGA Compatible) controller properties > details shows PCI/VEN_10DE & DEV_0845 & SUBSYS_360A103C & REV_A2\4 & 15DBADC5 & 0 & 0058

So what I'm looking for right now. Although it would be nice to have all the correct drrivers for this pc run XP (some of what I have work cannot be what he really need).

What is the new slogan of HP? "Do the PC again" or something like that... lol. Well, I like mine with a side of XP and Linux would take the vista please.

If anyone here knows what I'm looking for the driver? And if anyone knows where all the correct drivers for this laptop (apart from the one to sell them on ebay) it may be easier to post links to them now instead of having to deal with this issue later.

  • Upgrading to Windows 7 laptop HP Pavilion DV8380US

    Hello world

I have a laptop HP Pavilion DV8380US #: EZ698UA #ABA. I want to upgrade this notebook to Windows 7 if possible.

    The specifications are the following:

    Windows Media Center operating system

Microprocessor 1.83 GHz Intel Centrino Duo mobile technology with Intel Core™ Duo T2400 processor

Microprocessor Cache 2 MB L2 Cache

Memory 2048 MB 667 MHz DDR2 memory (2 Dimm) system

    Max memory 2048 MB

Video Graphics                     NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400

Discrete video memory 128 MB + 128 MB shared memory

Hard drive from 240 GB at 5400 RPM dual HDD (120 GB x 2)

    Display 17.0 "WXGA + high-definition Ultra BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900)

    Sound:                                  Altec Lansing

Both hard drives are bad, so I plan to replace them with the largest possible size and a faster (7200 RPM).

    Can you advise me:

    a. the maximum hard disk size possible

    b. If I go up to 7200 RPM

    c. how much I need memory

    d. other changes I need to do.

    Thanks for the help

    Ken

    Hello

    Here are my answers:

a & b: Yes, you can go to the (larger) 2.5 "9.5 mm on the market today and can be 7200 rpm or above.

c: up to the limit of the machine that is 2 GB, not more

d: you have to do it by yourself since HP support (no drivers for Windows 7 on HP websites). This forum can help you, but it is a pain.

You may be able to put the CPU. My suggestion: with the current market, why update an old machine when you can buy a much better new laptop and can be cheaper?

    Kind regards.

I want to improve my HP Pavilion dv7-4150er and I need advice from experienced people.

    Now, I have:

    -8 GB of RAM (2 x 4 GB),

-1 TB of HDD (5400 RPM)

    -BIOS F.29

    2 problems:

    -Slow CPU

    -Slow HARD drive

Get an increase in the performance of the system?

On the 'Intel' site, I read that my

    Intel® HM55 Express Chipset Mobile

is compatible with the more powerful processors. LINK

    And I have a great opportunity to buy Intel® Core™ i7-940XM processor Extreme Edition (8 M Cache, 2.13 GHz)

    But the laptop manual says:

720QM and 940xm - identical processors. The difference in 'MAX TDP' 45w/55w, 'Cache' 6 mb / 8 mb and clock speed 1.6 GHz/2.13 GHz

The Intel® Core™ i7-940XM processor Extreme Edition (8 M Cache, 2.13) will work properly in my laptop?

    or not?

I have read many articles on this topic, but the answer is not...

And I can't find information on HP F.29 BIOS specification.

How can I increase a CPU nested way (with another compatible processor) perfomance if 940xm is not compatible?

    Help me please.

    Thank you for your time.

Hello nickiblackmore.  I understand that you are curious about the upgrade of your laptop.

Here is a link to Guide of Service and Maintenance of your laptop.  It covers the disassembly of the laptop and can also show you how to replace parts if you upgrade the.

If you switch to a Solid State Drive of a standard 5400 or 7200 RPM hard drive, you should see a significant performance increase.  This is because a normal hard drive spinning platters and it takes time to locate data on the trays as they are moving.  A Solid State Drive has no moving parts and therefor can locate data much more quickly.

A CPU upgrade is a much more difficult question.  HP does not recommend that you perform this type of upgrade.  Laptops are generally designed with specific thermal and electrical needs.  If you change the CPU, it will probably create more heat and use a higher power that will cause you problems.  However, if you stick to a processor that is listed in the service (for example in your picture) Guide, you should be fine.  For example, you can choose one of the microprocessors found in the image to upgrade your laptop.  Also, keep in mind that the integral part upgrade as a CPU can affect your warranty (check your warranty here).

If you think that answers your question be sure to mark the post as solved.  This makes it easier for others to find answers to their questions.

    Have a great day!
