I reinstalled my sound of a pack of Realtek for Vista. Lo and behold... sound is back. Vista still hate the pilot but did before cuz Vista sucks... but it works like any other so... screw it!   If the Microsoft Fix it fix the problem, try to use the device in Safe Mode and see if the problem persists. If you do not experience the problem with safe Mode, no doubt recent programs you have installed is causing the problem. You can try to disable the programs one by one and check which of them is the cause.

  I use a HP Pavilion dv6103nr Entertainment Notebook (Window XP).  Audio device was working before, but a few months ago the audio started does not (no sound cannot be played).
